Translation theory has gone some way towards becoming an independent discipline. The communicative direction of translation shows the importance of " fidelity " to the original texts and it is also essential to consider its cultural aspect. There is only a single completed Turkish translation of "The Knight in the Panther's Skin", which was translated by Dr Bylal Dindar and Dr Zeynelabidin Makas. In 1990, Dr Byblal Dindar was invited to Georgia for the scientific congress. It was then that he went to the Tbilisi State University where he discovered the different world language translations of "The Knit of the Panter's Skin". He became wistful when he could not find the Turkish translation. He thus decided to translate the poem into Turkish. In the translation process, Dr. Bylal Dindar utilized the French and Azeri translations of "The Knight in the Panther's Skin" translated by Sergi Tsuladze (French) and Ahmet Jevat (Azeri). The two translations are different, which is due to the differences between Christian and Muslim cultures, as well as different language systems and historical memory. The research discusses a topic of the Turkish translation of "The Knight in the Panther's Skin", in particular, the occasions of the word absences. Translation misses and does not translate the important Georgian realis (Changi, Molizghari, Tskluli, Mufarexi), The translation is missing and does not translate the important Georgian realis (Changi, Molizghari, Tskluli, Mupharexi), unless some of these realis have a Turkish equivalent (çeng, yara, ilaç), but the translator does not provide a translation. Similarly, the word omitting is confirmed in the synonyms and in the translation of the comparatives (Krdzalvit and Ridit, Qushad and Daghrejit, Ukadri), beneath which the author of "The Knight in the Panther's Skin" introduces another dynamism into the poem. This is why the Turkish translation has lost its dynamism while these synonyms and comparatives are not translated at all, thus simplifying the image of the dynamism of the text. Therefore, the Turkish translation does not have the same influence as the original text and is obscured to retell.

Abstract: This study aimed at analyzing the agreement of the implementation of the Segundo Tempo University Program (STUP) at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) in Brazil. It was a descriptive research, with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with the teacher and sports monitors who worked in the program. The analysis of the interviews was carried out through the Iramuteq Program and, in a complementary way, the analysis of documents from the STUP was used. The main results indicate that there was a dissociation between the initial planning (national guidelines) and the implementation of the STUP at UFMS. The researched agreement suffered from delays in structuring due to bureaucratization and constant stoppages due to the holding of a scientific congress, which interdicted all UFMS sports equipment for a month. The COVID-19 pandemic also paralyzed the program for five months. It is concluded that the STUP partially followed the national guidelines and bumped into bureaucratic limitations in structuring and systematizing the data, as it was not aligned with the academic events of the institution and was unable to finish the initial plan as planned.

Abstract Background Disparities in gender representation at medical meetings have been documented despite women representing half of medical school graduating classes. Lack of role models is touted as one of a myriad of factors that perpetuate gender imbalance, particularly in the field of surgery. We evaluated the trend in gender distribution of participants at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) Annual Scientific Congress (ASC) and whether there was a correlation between the gender distribution of the organising committee and speakers and chairpersons invited to attend. Methods RACS ASC programmes from 2013 to 2018 were retrospectively analysed, examining the gender distribution of speakers, chairpersons and conveners. Trend analysis of distribution was performed, and a generalized linear mixed model was used to investigate the effect of the gender of the conveners on gender of session chairpersons and speakers. Results Between 2013 and 2018, there were non-significant increases in female speakers invited to speak from 14.9 to 21.7% (p = 0.064) and female conveners appointed from 11 to 19% (p = 0.115), but there was a significant increase in female chairs from 9.6 to 21.6% p < 0.001). Female conveners were 3 times more likely to invite female speakers than male conveners (p < 0.001) and were 20 times more likely to invite female chairs than male conveners (p < 0.001). Conclusion Visible role models are important in the pursuit of gender equity in surgery in order to break down stereotypes and the hidden curriculum. Intentional effort is required to achieve parity, and such efforts could include appointing more women to organising committees of scientific meetings.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine the self-declarative performance of general dentists in prescription of analgesics and antibiotics for patients requiring root canal treatment (RCT). Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 400 general dentists participating in the 55th International Annual Scientific Congress of the Iranian Dental Association (2015) were randomly selected, and requested to complete a questionnaire about their performance regarding prescribing analgesics and antibiotics for patients requiring RCT. The frequency and percentage of answers to each question were calculated and reported. Results: The most commonly prescribed analgesics included ibuprofen (100.0%), Gelofen (100.0%), Novafen (68.5%) and acetaminophen (24.8%). After RCT, dentists prescribed ibuprofen (100.0%), Gelofen (98.3%), dexamethasone (35.3%), Novafen (27.3%) and acetaminophen/codeine (15.8%) in decreasing order of frequency. Antibiotic prescription was minimum (48.5%) for cases with painful (moderate or severe) irreversible pulpitis (vital tooth) before the treatment and maximum for cases of pulp necrosis with acute apical periodontitis, edema, and preoperative symptoms (moderate or severe) (97.3%). For non-allergic patients, the most frequently prescribed antibiotics were amoxicillin 500 mg (93.3%), cefixime 400 mg (81.3%), amoxicillin/metronidazole 250 mg (71.8%), co-amoxiclav 265 mg (36.3%) and injectable penicillin (0.5%). For allergic patients, dentists prescribed clindamycin 300 mg (84.0%), cephalexin 500 mg (15.8%), azithromycin 500 mg (13.5%), and erythromycin 500 mg (10.8%). Sex and graduation date had no significant effect on the results (P>0.05). Conclusion: Antibiotic prescription is excessive by general dentists, and their performance regarding the proper and logical prescription of antibiotics in RCT should be improved.
