As the participants and stakeholders of rural ecological governance, the evaluation of farmers’ satisfaction plays an important role in improving the performance of government ecological governance. Based on the criteria of ecological civilization construction and customer satisfaction, this paper constructs an evaluation system of farmers’ ecological governance satisfaction, which includes 34 indicators. Factor analysis is used to classify indicators, and IPA model is used to analyze the ecological governance plates that affect satisfaction. The research shows that the comprehensive satisfaction of rural ecological governance farmers in four towns of Changde City, Hunan Province is 3.6, which is basically recognized by farmers. The factors that farmers’ demand is strong but does not meet the expectations are sewage treatment, chemical fertilizer and pesticide pollution treatment, ecological legal system implementation, government investment and other indicators. The evaluation section of restriction satisfaction mainly focuses on ecological environment, institutional culture and infrastructure, and finally puts forward suggestions from three aspects: ecological environment, infrastructure and farmers’ sense of participation.

Since the industrial revolution, people have adopted the linear development mode of “resting on the principal” to gain wealth through crazy plunder of nature despite severe pollution to the environment for human survival, which results in sharp conflict between man and nature. As ecological crisis arises, people begin to reflect on the industrial revolution profoundly. They start adopting the cycle development mode of “resting on the interest” and take active steps to build ecological civilization, which is not only a form of civilization but also a development concept. It breaks traditional views and ideas of “considering environment merely from the angle of environment”, “environment and development are mutually independent” and “environment and development are opposed to each other”, and it achieves a higher level of harmony between man and nature, resources and environment, as well as man and society. The construction of ecological civilization, as an important part of national governance, is the only way to solve the problem of ecological environment deterioration as well as to promote the transformation of ecological civilization.

The Chinese government is committed to sustainability governance to alleviate the shortage of energy and the imbalance between ecological environment and economic development. This paper evaluates and analyzes the sustainability governance performance of China. A bootstrap data envelopment analysis (DEA) is proposed to evaluate sustainability governance performance of 30 provinces based on ecological efficiency in China from 1998 to 2015. The results indicate that the ecological efficiency of China significantly improved as a whole, which is related to the decline in sulfur dioxide emissions. Among these provinces, Jiangsu, Liaoning, and Inner Mongolia exhibited the highest values, while Gansu, Chongqing, and Sichuan had the lowest values. The 30 provinces were divided into four sub-areas. The average ecological efficiency of the eastern area was the highest, followed by the northeast area. Compared to the east area, northeast area, and central area, we find that west area obviously falls behind. As such, the results provide helpful guidance to improve ecological governance performance.

Since the 20th century, the deterioration of the ecological environment around the world has challenged urban space construction. With the development of urbanization, the consumption of resources and energy has increased, the level of biodiversity has decreased, environmental pollution is approaching the critical level, and the contradiction between human habitat activity and ecological environment has become increasingly prominent. The sustainable development of urban space along with its economic and social benefits, taking into account the quality of life and ecological environment, has become a new and important subject that needs to be explored. In this study, the indices of the evaluation system for sustainable urban spatial development in regions with underdeveloped economies but rich in ecological resources are arranged in sequence through the systematic coupling analysis of collaborative evaluation information and a quantitative analysis. The influences of urban space elements on sustainable urban development are disclosed. On the basis of the generated data, an evaluation system for sustainable urban spatial development with a complete set of information is proposed. The proposed system is applicable to urban spatial development evaluation in regions in China with underdeveloped economies but rich in ecological capital. First, the basic concept of system coupling is introduced, and a coupling relationship between urban sustainable development and urban space is proposed. Second, the elements of urban space and the sustainable development in the Qin-Ba mountain area are extracted, and the precedence diagram method is used to construct a sustainable evaluation system for urban space development in the Qin-Ba mountain area. Third, the sustainable evaluation process of urban spatial development is proposed. Finally, the sustainable evaluation system for urban spatial development in the Qin-Ba mountain area is applied to evaluate the urban spatial development in Shangluo, Qin-Ling Mountains, China. The results show that, among the investigated 14 indicators, the proportion of industrial land use mainly influences sustainable urban spatial development. As for the rest of the index factors, per capita green land area and green coverage ratio of built-up areas, per capita urban construction land area, proportion of forestry area, greening rate of built-up areas, total industrial dust emission density, proportion of cultivated area, and average volume fraction of residential areas are the secondary influencing factors of sustainable urban spatial development. The evaluation system in this research is constructed with the three aspects of “green coordination”, “green development”, and “green sustainability” of sustainable urban spatial development, and it complements the evaluation contents of urban–rural ecological space coordination, land resource protection, and green development community, and so on. The conclusion of this study not only can provide a useful reference for urban spatial development planning for underdeveloped ecological capital areas of China but also can provide a theoretical basis for the management and control policy of sustainable urban spatial development.

The ecological system and natural environment of islet in river are easy to be damaged. With the increasing tourists and serious lag of management, the ecological environment of islet in river is facing severe challenges and its ecological environmental security should been paid more attention. Based on the model of Press-State-Response, the article constructed the evaluation index system of islet in river and applied it in the evaluation of Dongzhou islet of Hengyang, Hunan province of China. The research can provide the reference for ecological security evaluation and environment protection. It will promote the islets tourism utilization and sustainable development.

With the worsening ecological environment, urban landscape begins to focus on ecology theory in order to develop with balance. According to the current situation of the urban development, this paper, based on the theory of ecology, shows several ecological principles during urban landscape design process and then puts forward the evaluation system for urban landscape with intention for people to distinguish landscape quality. By analyzing urban landscape design based on ecology theory , it could be possible to realize the modern urban landscape meeting the needs of urban development and creating the harmony between human and nature.

To greatly develop carbon sequestration forestry, conduct carbon sequestration forestation, increase forest carbon sequestration, ensure reduction of forest carbon emission, is an important measure and a completely new work to actively deal with climate change. This paper introduces the development process and research trend of coupling effect of artificial carbon sequestration capacity and ecological environment, explores the coupling development modes, and the relations between function coupling and composition element coupling with the objective of further improving the construction of ecological civilization and ecological environment.
