Post-operative ascites following caesarean section is rarely reported in pregnancy. Ascites has multiple etiologies including malignancies, liver cirrhosis, intraperitoneal infections and trauma. Authors report a case of post-operative ascites following caesarean section performed at around 37 weeks of gestation. The patient was normotensive. The diagnosis and treatment of ascites as well as the pregnancy outcome is presented. Literature review of ascites in pregnancy is discussed as well. This case was that of an idiopathic ascites with no definitive cause. An allergic or inflammatory peritoneal reaction may be the most likely cause for this complication.

Chylous ascites has multiple etiologies including malignancies, liver cirrhosis, intraperitoneal infections, and trauma. It is rarely reported in pregnancy. We report a case of chylous ascites noted at the time of cesarean section performed at 35 weeks of gestation on a patient with preeclampsia and suspected placental abruption. The diagnosis and treatment of chylous ascites as well as the pregnancy outcome are presented. A literature review of chylous ascites in pregnancy is discussed as well.

Uterine prolapse complicating pregnancy is rare. Two cases are presented here: one patient had uterine prolapse at both her second and third pregnancy, and the other developed only once prolapse during pregnancy. This report will analyze etiology, clinical characteristics, complication, and treatment of uterine prolapse in pregnancy. Routine gynecologic examination should be carried out during pregnancy. If uterine prolapse occurred, conservative treatment could be used to prolong the gestational period as far as possible. Vaginal delivery is possible, but caesarean section seems a better alternative when prolapsed uterus cannot resolve during childbirth.

Vesicouterine fistula is a rare type of urogenital fistulas. It is most commonly observed after cesarean section (C/S) due to iatrogenic reasons. In this article, a case of a vesicouterine fistula which developed after C/S operation is presented. This was the patient’s second C/S and this time placenta previa totalis was the primary pathology. Since it is a rare complication, we found it interesting, and, in this article, this clinical problem was discussed with details about diagnosis and treatment in light of the literature.

BACKGROUND: Some benign changes of the ovaries like hyper reaction luteinalis sometimes cannot be differentiated from malignant ones without histological examination. In these cases, surgical intervention sometimes cannot be avoided. Hyperreactio luteinalis is a condition that can occur only in pregnancy. It is characterised by bilateral benign multicystic ovarian enlargement. CASE REPORT: We present a case of misleading intraoperative findings during Cesarean section that ended with ovariectomy. CONCLUSION: During the Caesarean section, some benign masses of the ovaries, like hyper reaction luteinalis, are difficult to differentiate from malignant disease without histological examination, requiring surgical intervention.

Squamous odontogenic tumor is a benign epithelial odontogenic tumor that is very unusual in the maxilla & mandible. Mostly, these are present as single lesions, but rarely they can be multifocal lesions. The nature of maxillary lesions is more aggressive. Because of their benign nature, these lesions are frequently treated with conservative surgical techniques that include curettage and surgical enucleation. We will discuss the instance of a 29-year-old lady who was misdiagnosed and treated conservatively by us. This case was examined in the light of current knowledge of the prevalence, genesis, diagnosis, and treatment of squamous odontogenic tumors, as well as a literature review.

Intraoperative injuries of the bladder and the attendant vesicouterine and vesicovaginal fistulas formation are reported as rare events, but the rapid increase in the number of caesarean sections has contributed to the emergence of these complications. Early recognition of these complications makes them much easier to deal with, while simple measures intraoperatively can ensure that these complications will not escape attention. We present our rare case of uroperitoneum after cesarean section, the way of diagnosis and treatment, and due to this incident we review in detail the existing literature on the topic.

The article presents data from a retrospective analysis of 8,706 childbirth histories of the Volgograd Clinical Perinatal Center No. 2 for 2018–2019 years. To analyze the frequency and indications for caesarean section, the 10-group classification by M. Robson was used. The results obtained allowed us to determine the groups with the highest frequency of cesarean section and outline ways to reduce the frequency of abdominal birth in these groups.
