With the trace of social chat, the method classifies and groups the users under different categories of interest. The interest detection is performed according to the Class Level Post Measure (CLPM) which represents the interest of the user under a specific category. Using the actors identified, the method generates an Opinion Hit Matrix (OHM) based on the events and opinions posted. Using the matrix, the method computes the opinion support measure (OSM) to select a subset of opinions to generate recommendations. The proposed algorithm improves the performance of the recommendation generation.

Religious believers have historically adapted Scripture into brief texts for wider dissemination through relatively inexpensive publications. The emergence of Twitter and other microblogging tools today afford clerics a platform for real time information sharing with its interface for short written texts, which includes providing links to graphics and sound recordings that can be forwarded and responded to by others. This paper discusses emergent practices in tweet authorship which embed and are inspired by sacred Scripture, in order to deepen understanding of the changing nature of sacred texts and of the constitution of religious authority as pastors engage microblogging and social media networks. Drawing upon a Twitter feed by a prominent Christian megachurch leader with global influence, this paper identifies multiple ways in which tweets have been encoded to quote, remix and interpret Scripture, and to serve as choice aphorisms that reflect or are inspired by Scripture. Implications for the changing nature of sacred digital texts and the reconstruction of religious authority are also discussed.

The youth constitutes the largest user base of social media networks. While this generation has grown up in a digitally immersed environment, they are still not immune to the dangers the online space bears. Hence, maintaining their privacy is paramount. The present article presents a theoretical contribution, that is based on a review of relevant articles. It sets out to investigate the importance adolescents attribute to online privacy, which is likely to influence their willingness to disclose data. In line with a “new privacy paradox”, information disclosure is seen as unavoidable, given the centrality of social networks to adolescents’ lives. This goes hand in hand with individual privacy management. As individuals often lack knowledge as to how to protect their privacy, it is essential to educate the youth about their possibilities, equipping them with agency and self-responsibilization. This corresponds with a teen-centric approach to privacy as proposed by the TOSS framework.
