There is increase in the level of purchase and consumption of banana and plantain due to their nutritional requirements. This led to increase in the number of market dealers on banana and plantain. Therefore, the study assessed the marketing channel and structure of banana and plantain in Enugu State, Nigeria. Adopting a descriptive survey design, copies of the instrument were administered to 160 banana and plantain sellers. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Gini co-efficient. The results showed that majority of the respondents were married females who attained primary education. Majority of the wholesalers obtained their products directly from farmers while 71.80% of the retailers obtained from the wholesalers. The results of the Gini co-efficient for banana and plantain sellers showed low levels of inequitable distribution of income among them. However, inequalities existed more at retail level than at the wholesale level. Recommendations included that international donor should provide links between prospective banana and plantain farmers, policy makers and researchers to identify and analyze new ways of encouraging the market for mutual co-operation and structure for an effective banana and plantain marketing system.

One hundred and fifty (150) questionnaires were administered, however only one hundred and thirty two (132) were properly filled and good enough for data analysis. The Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Regression Analysis were used to test the hypotheses generated for the study at 0.05 alpha levels. The result of the study showed that there is a significant relationship between customer’s attitude and insurance product. Findings also revealed that there is a significant relationship between product awareness and price. Findings from the survey further revealed that promotion of insurance products have significant influence on consumers buying behavior. The motivation for this study was that, existing literature have reported on the growth of mobile money (MM) and its clientele base. However, studies on the effects of mobile money service on customers and performance of an individual bank; challenges, threats, and opportunities mobile money service presents to an individual bank are very rare to find so adding to the existing studies on the sector will help provide more insight into the operations of the sector and direct policy decisions of policy-makers, bank officials, and telecom operators. This study sought to find out how mobile money services have affected customers and performance of Beige Bank in Ghana. The research is a descriptive survey design that presents results in mean scores, frequency distribution tables, pie charts, bar graph, and Chi-square test of relationship. The study found that mobile money service had a positive effect on customers’ remittances. Also, mobile money positively influenced customers’ saving habits. Furthermore, majority of the respondents had bank accounts, mobile money accounts, and still engaged in MM transactions. Again, instead of being a threat, mobile money presents opportunities like, cross selling of products, increase in customer base through the registration of mobile money agents, and increased bank commissionIt is recommended that Beige Bank, Ghana and other banks in Ghana should focus on getting mobile agents to save and buy E-cash from them, and develop mobile phone apps which provide access to mobile money service where customers can easily transfer money between their bank accounts and their mobile money wallets.

The Kenyan microfinance sector faces many challenges such as high operation costs, increased credit risk, low visibility and poor understanding of emerging technology opportunities and risks among others. These problems are persistent due to low levels of innovation and limited uptake of digital financial technologies. This research aimed to identify the determinants that influence uptake of mobile fintech and propose an appropriate model for uptake of mobile fintech within the sector. A descriptive survey of all 30 Microfinance institutions registered with Association of Microfinance Institutions (AMFI) 2018 in Kenya was carried out. Data was collected using questionnaires from 120 respondents. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Based on correlation model, this study established that technology factors (r=0.862, P<.05), environmental characteristics (r=0.387, P<.05) and organizational factors (r=0.256, P<.05) have a strong influence on the uptake of mobile fintech. Using regression model, technology factors (β=.563, P<.05), organizational factors (β=.281, P<.05) and environmental characteristics (β=.562, P<.05) all have positive and significant influence on uptake of mobile fintech. These factors include technology availability, perceived technology benefits, organization size, resources availability, and competition, regulatory and legal environment among others. Uptake of mobile fintech was found to reduce operation costs and improve business operations efficiency. Understanding of the factors derived in this study will help microfinance institutions, software developers and policy makers as they develop strategies directed at promoting successful implementation of mobile fintech.
