With a social concern to protect the future generation the topic of “Waste Water Management has been selected. Ten years from 2008 to 2017 are selected and relevant data has been downloaded from Web of Science. Appropriate hypothesis is framed to test the deviation among the publications through the Regression Test and found that the deviation among the data are very low and there is possibility to go for the calculation of doubling time of the records. Percentage analysis of the year wise publications, document wise publications and language wise publications are assessed and tabulated. Top ten country wise publications are tabulated. The Bradford’s Law of Scattering is applied to identify the core journals. It is suggested that the ministry of the government to initiate to manage the waste water to protect the lives and resources of the country.

In the context of the formation of an answer to the big challenges in the field of transition to environmentally friendly and resource-saving energy, the scientific community is faced with the problem of reducing the level of the carbon footprint. The purpose of this article is to monitor the publication activity of scientists from all countries who publish the results of their research on the carbon footprint problem in the international scientific citation indexes Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus. The methodology for conducting this monitoring is based on the use of tools for the extended search of the international scientific citation systems Web of Science and Scopus using the authors' keywords. For the analyzed period, the period 2016-2020 was adopted. The results of the study showed that scientists from five leading countries are mainly engaged in this problem: China, Spain, USA, Great Britain and Italy, as well as the fact that Russian scientists came out with the results of their research into the world scientific space only starting from 2017.

The article is devoted to the consideration of key scientometric platforms, which are widely used in Ukraine. The practice of application of such platforms as Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, Russian index of scientific citation, Index Copernicus, Journal's International Compliance Index, Ukrainian index of scientific citation, "Scientists of Ukraine" is analyzed. Key parametric tools that the above-mentioned platforms use to determine proposed scientometric indicators are identified and critically analyzed. In particular, attention is paid to the possibilities of evaluating the Hirsch-index for ranking scientific publications on the importance and value. The key shortcomings inherent in the Hirsch-index are revealed. Also, the practice of using the impact factor for assessing the quality of scientific publications is considered. Advantages and disadvantages of the practice of using these scientometric platforms for assessing the quality of the publication activity of institutions, publications and scientists are being studied. The key strengths and weaknesses of Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar have been identified. The possibility of using along with the above science-based platforms and such as: the Russian index of scientific citation and the Journal's International Compliance Index is being proved. The incorrectness of using the Index Copernicus platform for assessing the quality of scientific work and the inadequacy of the tools of the Ukrainian Index of Scientific Citation to the evaluation of the quality of scientific and publishing activity are justified. The inconsistency of using scientometric tools exclusively for assessing the quality of scientific work is being proved. The necessity of transforming the practice of assessing the quality of science through the prism of scientometric indicators, by changing the editorial policy (DORA) and the introduction of new parametric tools (R-factor) with another philosophy for the evaluation of scientific works is substantiated.

The article presents the results of the analysis of the water/economic journals bibliometric data in leading bases of scientific citation (Russian Index of Scientific Citation (RISC), Web of Science Core Collection, and Scopus). We have analyzed the outcomes of the Clarivate Analytics – «Research Fronts 2020» and «Research Fronts 2020: active fields, leading countries» reports and based on them we have found out top issues of researches in the area of water/economic activities and leading countries involved in their development. According to editions rating in RISC, Web of Science, Scopus we have accessed scientific potential of Russian journals dealing with water/economic themes and have identified their place in the world rating. We have emphasized the problem of small quantity of the appropriated national editions in the world information researches’ flow. The undertaken research was targeted to studying of contemporary trends of the world water science and the practice of their reflection in scientific literature. We have propose some ways of enhancing the world-wide significance of the Russian relevant editions.

The paper presents the scientometric analysis of the information array on paleopedology from the international databases of scientific citation Web of Science (Clarivate) and Scopus (Elsevier). The analysis results show the trends in the development of this research area over a fifty-year period and its positive dynamics; identify the countries the most actively studying paleosols, authors working successfully in this field and their affiliations, organizations financing scientific research on the topic, as well as frequently cited articles; name the language and specific composition of documents, periodicals with the greatest publication activity; demonstrates the thematic structure of documents in the information array according with the branches of knowledge (Scopus), research areas and subject categories (Web of Science). In addition, the information array on paleopedology was processed using the CiteSpace software, which is freely available to users and allows creating and analyzing co-citation networks based on information arrays selected from databases of scientific citation; it visualize the research field by building networks of document co-citation and term use, identifying research areas. The method of analyzing the document citation provides the network clusterization. By location of clusters labeled with terms from citing articles and symbolizing scientific trends, one can see how research on paleopedology has developed in the world. The results of the scientometric analysis can be useful for specialists in the field of paleopedology to optimize and coordinate research with leading experts and research centers dealing with this problem, as well as representatives of grant-giving organizations.
