The data are collected from higher education institutions operating in the city of Lahore, Pakistan. The sample size was 377 faculties belonging to both private and public sector higher education institutions. The analysis is based on variance-based structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that the internal branding practices have a significant impact on employee’s intention to stay within the organization, and intrasample analysis suggests few comprehensible variations with respect to private and public academic institutions. The research article also provides insights to faculty, academic entrepreneurs and marketers, especially those belonging to developing countries and facing issues of branding and employee retention.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is twofold: first, to examine the influence of working condition on faculty retention and quality education in the private higher education sector; and second, to see whether there is any mediating role of faculty retention linking working condition and quality education in the private universities in Bangladesh. Design/methodology/approach To attain these objectives, a total of 516 data were collected from the faculty members of the private universities located all over the country based on random sampling procedure. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling technique. Findings The findings of the study reveal that though working condition has a direct significant influence on both faculty retention and quality education and faculty retention has a partial mediating influence on quality education in private higher education institutes in Bangladesh. Research limitations/implications From a research perspective, the study results demonstrate once again the robustness of the Muslow’s hierarchy need theory of motivation for helping to explain the faculty members of the private universities. As more and more studies of faculty behavior and its antecedents are done within the similar framework, the author is more able to discover and confirm which antecedents are most important, helping the author build a robust theory of quality education affected based on human resource practices by the management of the institutes. Practical implications From a practical perspective, as a cumulative body of work on the nexus between human resource management and quality education emerges, the author will be better able to advise private university authorities on the elements they need to address in order to excel quality education. In this study, the one area of findings that may help university authorities the most concerns work environment. These findings imply that in order to excel quality education the authorities of the private universities should focus more on friendly and enjoyable working environment for prolonging faculty retention and excelling quality education. Private higher education is experiencing a rapid considerable growth for decades globally, particularly in Africa. In Nigeria, the history and the development of private higher education precisely universities which is the focus of this paper started 20 years ago with the establishment of Igbinedion University in Okada, Edo State in 1999, followed by two other universities; Babcock University, Ileshan Remo, Ogun State, and Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State in the same year all in the southern part of the country. Comparatively, the American University of Nigeria Yola was established as the first private university in northern region 4 years later. Two years after, another four universities emerged namely Al-hakima University Ilorin, Al-Qalam University Katsina, Bingham University Karu Abuja, and Kwararafa University Wukari Taraba State. As of December, 2020, there are 16 private universities in the northern region with 11 at north-central, 3 in the northwest, and 2 in the northeast against 63 in the entire southern region comprasing three goe-politcal zones as well. This study intends to critically analyze the trend of these development to identify strategies, practices, and lessons learned between both regions for the spirit of educational development. Consequently, this study revealed the issues and difficulties in promoting private higher education include lack of awareness, lack of human resources, and cost of running in the country as a whole. In line with the identified challenges, the Nigerian government and policymakers are recommended to focus on creating an enabling environment to encourage the establishments of additional private universities more specifically in the northern region.

Our aim in this study was to propose an integrated model to examine the structural relationships among a higher education institution’s service quality, student satisfaction, institutional image, and behavioral intention at a private university located in South Korea. We conducted a survey of students majoring in business to analyze these relationships. Structural equation modeling showed that students were satisfied with various aspects (tangibles, reliabilities, responsiveness, empathy, and assurance) of service quality. Also, service quality directly affected both student satisfaction and perceived institutional image. In addition, the results indicated that students’ perceived institutional image and satisfaction directly influenced behavioral intention. Although perceived service quality was not a significant construct to predict behavioral intention of students, our results showed a mediating effect of perceived institutional image and student satisfaction on the relationship between service quality and behavioral intention.

This research was carried out to examine the role of educational brand capital applied to private universities in El Salvador. For this purpose, the main contributions of the literature related to the study of brand capital and its application in the educational sector were analyzed, identifying which variables determine brand capital in the higher education sector. Once a suitable model was established, an empirical study was realized through a questionnaire in digital format, using a sample of 381 valid responses from undergraduate students from a private university in San Salvador (El Salvador). In order to validate the proposed construct, structural equation modeling will be applied, using SPSS v.19 and EQS 6.2 as working tools. The results obtained will show the repercussion of each variable of the brand capital relative to the determining variables, which are: brand awareness, brand image, perceived quality, and brand loyalty.

The quantitative data were collected through interviews from 225 lecturers of the private universities. This study implemented variance-based structural equation modelling, namely PLS-SEM for data analysis. The findings show that most of the lecturers are satisfied with their work. Moreover, there is no difference in satisfaction with the demographic issue. This study will contribute to the scale factors system that affects job satisfaction in general and job satisfaction of lecturers in particular. The results will be a valuable source for future-related research on measuring job satisfaction of lecturers.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Management Information Systems and customer value to the achievements of private universities in the city of Batam. The study population is a private university student enrolled in Management programs that has B accreditation in Batam city. Data analysis techniques used in explaining the phenomenon in this study is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of the study show that better Management Information System will increase students' assessment of the University, as well as the student's assessment of the university's reputation, but the good or bad of the Management Information System does not affect the reputation of the university. A better Management Information System, will further enhance the reputation of the university if the student's assessment of the university is also good.
