The aim of this work was to correlate macronutrient content of soybean seeds to physiological quality of different cultivars. The work was developed in the Federal University of Pelotas, in the facilities of the Seed Science and Technology Graduate Program. The experimental design was randomized blocks in arranged in four replicates. The following soybean cultivars were used: BMX Apolo RR (12 lots), BMX Ativa RR (13 lots), BMX Energia RR (26 lots), BMX Força RR (24 lots), BMX Impacto RR (35 lots), BMX Magna RR (16 lots), BMX Turbo RR (44 lots), BMX Potência RR (82 lots) and NA 5909 RR (28 lots), with seeds produced in northwest Rio Grande do Sul. The determination of nutritional contents found in plant tissues of soybean seeds, were measured: Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Magnesium (Mg), Calcium (Ca), Sulfur (S). The macronutrient contents of the seeds vary according to genetic characteristics of the cultivars, with higher oscillations of nitrogen, phosphorus, magnesium and sulfur contents present in soybean seeds. Potassium and calcium are defined as the most stable nutrients for the cultivars and seed lots analyzed. High concentrations of nitrogen, phosphorus and calcium are determinants for the physiological quality of soybean seeds.

The efficiency and responsiveness agronomic to the main macronutrients is becoming increasingly important due to the risk of supply, since it is a finite resource. In addition, excess fertilizer decreases the quality of water and air. Thus, the objective of this work was to assess the corn hybrids in terms of their efficiency and responsiveness to nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K), and identify the ones most suitable for fresh consumption, according to the product type and technological level to be adopted by the farmer. The randomized complete block design in a 10 × 3 (hybrids and doses) factorial scheme was adopted for the experiment, with three replications, for two season crops (2013/14 and 2014/15). Ten hybrids (2B512PW, 2B587PW, 2B707PW, 30F35HR, 30F53YH, AG1051, BRS1055, BM3061, P3646H e P3862YH) were used in isolation under low availability (without application) and partial, of N, P and K, in an isolated manner, also evaluated under the recommended dose, aiming at fresh consumption. The most efficient and responsive hybrid must first be identified in isolation, based on the availability it is subjected to and later, by its sale, focused on fresh consumption. The hybrids indicated for low availability (low technological level) were BRS1055 and 30F53YH, with respect to responsiveness or agronomic efficiency, the hybrid P3862YH was the one that presented the best performance and indicated for technological levels of medium to high, considering the classification obtained for the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium for production vegetable corn.

Abstract Silting of water reservoirs by sediments detached through soil erosion is a serious water management problem. One of the solutions is direct application of sediments to the soil. The aim of the paper is to monitor the quality of bottom sediments taken from selected water reservoirs in the eastern Slovakia (Hervartov, Nižný Žipov, Byšta) and to evaluate their quality according to legislation. The results showed that the concentrations of total nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in sediments are higher than in soils taken from the vicinity of reservoirs.Simultaneously, it was confirmed that the sediment in the evaluated reservoirs meets the physicochemical parameters according to the Act No. 188/2003 Coll. for direct application to the soil.

The investigation took place in 20112013 at the EastSiberian Research Institute of Veterinary Medicine. Agriculture in the TransBaikal Territory is oriented towards increase in forage production and improvement of fodder quality and energy value. One of the ways to do that is to cultivate rare and unconventional annual forage species having high feed productivity and adaptability to the regional conditions. The goal and objectives of this research were to analyze the productivities and nutritional value of scarlet amaranth and field beans tolerant to the extreme conditions of the TransBaikal Territory. Scarlet amaranth Yantar and field beans Sibirskie performed as the objects of study. The investigation tested their adaptability and economically important traits. Scarlet amaranth and field beans had high forage productivity and quality, resistance to drought, lodging, pests and diseases. These crops could yield 25.228.4 t ha1 of green mass, 5.75.8 t ha1 of dry matter, 4.4 t ha1 of feed units, 55.956.8 GJ ha1 of exchange energy, 695893 kg ha1 of digestible protein and 0.51.28 t ha1 of seeds. One feed unit contained 158203 g of digestible protein. Scarlet amaranth and field beans were shown to be good sources of highenergy and highquality feed for livestock in the TransBaikal Territory.

An experiment was conducted in field condition to study the effect of nitrogen-phosphorus fertilization on growth, yield and nutrient content of cabbage. The experiment was laid out in randomize block design with three replications. The yield and yield components were maximized by N3P2 fertilizer treatment. Nutrient content of cabbage varied with fertilizer treatment. The maximum amount of reducing sugar, ascorbic acid, phosphorus were found at the highest rate of N - P fertilization whereas accumulation of titrable acidity, iron, calcium were maximum at the rate of N2P2 treatment. However pH, ash content were more or less same throughout the experiment. Bangladesh J. Sci. Ind. Res. 41(1-2), 41-46, 2006

Fish waste needs to be a concern because the accumulation of fish waste will have environmental pollution. Therefore, research needs to be done to reduce the impact of environmental pollution. This study aims to treat fish waste which will be used as raw material for compost which is one of the efforts to reduce the accumulation caused by fish waste. The method used is survey, observation, and literature study. The composting process uses fish waste as a starter in the composting process. Before starting the composting is to separate fish waste from other wastes to facilitate the composting process. During composting the temperature conditions are maintained by reversing compost and color and odor changes are observed. The results showed that the levels of C-Organic; 51.7%, Nitrogen; 8.3%, Phosphor; 4.8%, and Potassium; 1.6%. From the results of C-Organic, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium tests, the levels were quite high compared to the quality of SNI compost, so compost from fish waste where the Tambak Lorok Market can be used as fertilizer.

An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of different levels of black point infection caused by Bipolaris sorokiniana and other fungal pathogens on some quality characters of wheat grain. Wheat grains were graded on a 0-5 scale based on levels of black point infection. Quality characters of grain viz., protein, fat, dry matter, ash and mineral contents under different grades were determined following standard methods. The dry matter and ash contents of grain decreased while the contents of protein and fat increased with the increasing severity of black point infection. The observations on macro and micro nutrient contents of grain indicated that the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sulphur, and boron increased, whereas the contents of potassium, iron, zinc, copper and sodium decreased with the increase of black point infection. However, the reductions in copper content of black point affected grains under different grades of infection were not significant as compared to apparently healthy grains.
