ABSTRACT The pros and cons of the obligation to carry out and disclose Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by companies make the government provide incentives through taxes. The tax incentive is stated in Law No. 38 of 2008, which states that CSR costs can be categorized as deductible expenses or as a deduction from taxable income. The law can provide an opening for companies to carry out tax aggressiveness. This study aims to analyze and prove the effect of CSR as deductible expense on tax aggressiveness in mining companies in Indonesia. The data source used is secondary data from financial reports and annual reports of mining companies for the 2017-2019 period which can be downloaded at www.idx.co.id. The sample selection used purposive sampling technique and data processing was carried out through multiple linear analysis with SPSS software. The results showed that CSR as deductible expense on tax aggressiveness and capital intensity had no effect on tax aggressiveness.Keywords: Exchange Rate, Tax Rate, Tunneling Incentive, Transfer Pricing ABSTRAK Pro dan kontra atas kewajiban melaksanakan dan mengungkapkan Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) oleh perusahaan membuat pemerintah memberikan insentif melalui pajak. Insentif pajak tersebut tertuang dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 38 Tahun 2008, yang menyatakan bahwa biaya CSR dapat dikategorikan sebagai biaya yang dapat dikurangkan atau sebagai pengurang penghasilan kena pajak. Undang-undang tersebut dapat memberikan celah bagi perusahaan untuk melakukan agresivitas pajak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan membuktikan pengaruh CSR sebagai biaya pengurang terhadap agresivitas pajak pada perusahaan pertambangan di Indonesia. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder berupa laporan keuangan dan laporan tahunan perusahaan pertambangan periode 2017-2019 yang dapat diunduh di www.idx.co.id. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan pengolahan data dilakukan melalui analisis linier berganda dengan software SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CSR sebagai biaya pengurang terhadap agresivitas pajak dan intensitas modal tidak berpengaruh terhadap agresivitas pajak.Kata kunci: Nilai Tukar, Tarif Pajak, Tunneling Incentive, Transfer Pricing

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pengungkapan corporate social responsibility, kepemilikan institusional, dan profitabilitas terhadap agresivitas pajak. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh perseroan pertambangan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2016—2020 dan sampel penelitian dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan metode regresi linear berganda. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi bahwa pada perusahaan pertambangan khususnya pada kurun waktu penelitan, aktivitas manajer terkait tanggung jawabnya terhadap lingkungan dan masyarakat tidak berorientasi pada pajak perusahaan, tetapi benar bermotifkan perhatian akan keberlanjutan operasional perusahaan (sustainability operation). Demikian pula pemilik yang berasal dari institusi melakukan pengawasan dan pengendalian manajer pada aspek strategis selain pajak perusahaan. Dari hasil riset ini terbukti pula bahwa profitabilitas perusahaan tidak menjadi hal yang dapat mendorong manajer melakukan aktivitas penghindaran pajak, terlebih pada saat masa pandemi sekarang ini banyak sekali insentif dan kebijakan yang dikeluarkan oleh Dirjen pajak untuk mendorong keberlangsungan ekonomi wajib pajak. ABSTRACTThis study is a quantitative study that aims to analyze the effect of the use of corporate social responsibility, institutional ownership, and profitability on tax aggressiveness. The population of this study were all mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2020 and the research sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Analysis of research data using multiple linear regression method. This study shows that in mining companies, especially at the time of the study, activities related to environmental and community management are not related to corporate taxes, but are very beneficial for company operations. Likewise, owners who come from institutions that supervise and control managers in other strategic aspects besides corporate taxes. From the results of this study, it is also proven that company profitability is not something that can encourage managers to carry out tax avoidance activities, especially during the current pandemic, there are lots of incentives and policies issued by the Director General of Taxes to encourage the economic sustainability of taxpayers.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji apakah ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan, umur perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap tanggung jawab soaial perusahaan, profitabilitas berpengaruh terhadap tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan, ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap profitabilitas, umur perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap profitabilitas, ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan dengan profitabilitas sebagai variabel intervening, dan umur perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan dengan profitabilitas sebagai variabel intervening. Penelitian mengambil sampel perusahaan manufaktur sub sektor barang konsumsi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI).  Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan data sekunder berupa laporan tahunan perusahaan. Selama periode 2014-2018, terdapat 142 perusahaan manufaktur, dan populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 42 perusahaan. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling, yaitu metode pengambilan sampel yang ditetapkan oleh peneliti sesuai dengan kriteria tertentu sehingga total sampel adalah 19 perusahaan. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan path analysis.  Hasil penelitian meliputi (1) ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan, (2) umur perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap tanggung jawab soaial perusahaan, (3) profitabilitas berpengaruh terhadap tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan, (4) ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap profitabilitas, (5) umur perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap profitabilitas, (6) ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan dengan profitabilitas sebagai variabel intervening, (7) umur perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan dengan profitabilitas sebagai variabel intervening.Kata Kunci :   ukuran perusahaan, halaman perusahaan, tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan, profitabilitas.AbstractThis study aims to examine whether company size has an effect on corporate social responsibility, company age has an effect on corporate social responsibility, profitability has an effect on corporate social responsibility, company size has an effect on profitability, company age has an effect on profitability, company size has an effect on responsibility social enterprise with profitability as an intervening variable, and company age affect corporate social responsibility with profitability as an intervening variable. The study took a sample of manufacturing companies sub-sector of consumer goods listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The type of data used in this study is secondary data in the form of company annual reports. During the 2014-2018 period, there were 142 manufacturing companies, and the population in this study amounted to 42 companies. Samples were selected by purposive sampling technique, which is the sampling method determined by researchers in accordance with certain criteria so that the total sample is 19 companies. Data were analyzed using path analysis. This research aimed to examine whether corporate social responsibility affect the corporate value and whether the profitability as a moderating variable affect the corporate social responsibility and corporate value on mining corporate listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the 2016-2018 period. This research used samples from mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the 2016-2018 period as many as 31 issuers and used purposive sampling technique. This research is quantitative descriptive. The data used is secondary data and used data collection methods, namely documentation studies. The data used in this research are financial statement and annual reports by mining companies obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange website (https://www.idx.co.id). Based on research results by using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS 18), shows that CSR affect the corporate value which is proxied to Tobin’s Q, it is known from the calculated t value is greater than the t table value, and the significance value is smaller than the level its significance. And the independent variable CSR and profitability as a moderating are not able to moderate the corporate value, it is known from the value of the relation obtained smaller than the value of CSR to corporate value.

The purpose of this research is to test whether there is influence of Corporate Social Responsibility disclosure and leverage on tax aggressiveness. The theories used in this research are Stakeholder Theory and Debt Covenant Hypothesis from Positive Accounting Theory. The type of this research is quantitative research. The population in this research is all main and manufacturing sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2014-2016. The total of companies selected as samples are 75 companies with the period research for three years, so the total of samples in this research are 225 samples that have been selected using purposive sampling technique. The data used in this study is secondary data in the form of annual reports of main and manufacturing sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2014-2016. Data collection technique used is documentation. The data analysis technique used is panel data regression. The results of this research showed that Corporate Social Responsibility disclosure has no influence on tax aggressiveness while leverage has negative and significant influence on tax aggressiveness.

Mining companies in Indonesia are companies that explore naturalresources as a source of income for the company. The use of mining companies for this study is because the activities undertaken by these companies related to waste and environmental pollution so that the level of industrial risk and environmental damage becomes high. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the tax aggressiveness (ETR), firm size (SIZE), and foreign ownership (FOCI) to corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the mining companies. The population in this study are the mining companies which were listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange from year 2010 to 2015. This study uses tax aggressiveness, firm size, and foreign ownership as independent variables; profitability, leverage, and market-to-book ratio as control variables; and also corporate social responsibility as dependent variable. There are 9 samples of mining companies which produced 54 data using purposive sampling technique. This study uselogistic regression method. This study uses Eviews 9 and Microsoft Excel 2007 for data processing. The results showed that the firm size (SIZE) has a significant effect on the company's CSR, while tax aggressiveness and foreign ownership have no significant effect on company’s CSR. This results indicate that the bigger the size of a company will cause greater activities and influences in the society, which make companies pay more attention to social programs and social responsibility disclosures.

The objective of this research was to analyze the effect of the tax aggressiveness on the corporate social responsibility of the mining companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period of 2013 - 2015. The independent variable used in this research was the tax aggressiveness measured by the effective tax rate (ETR); while, the dependent variable used in this research was the corporate social responsibility (CSR). This research used three control variables (return on assets, leverage, and company size). The sampling technique used in this research was a purposive sampling technique so that the sample of this research was all mining companies (27 companies) which had published the annual financial reports in the period of 2013 – 2015. The sample was collected through 81 observations. Data analysis technique used in this research was a multiple linear regression using SPSS version 20. The result of this research showed that (1) the tax aggressiveness and the company size had an effect on the CSR; while, the return on asset (ROA) and leverage had no effect on the CSR.

This paper sets out to examine the neglected research area of corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the Mining Companies in Tanzania, and was guided by the following specific objectives: 1) to examine tax payment compliance of the mining companies in Tanzania; 2) to explore the extent to which mining companies donate local communities services in Tanzania; 3) to investigate the compliance of environment management Act of 2015; 4) to explore the challenges facing Tanzania in enforcing CSR of the mining companies. A case study design was used and the methods of data collection were interviews and documentary reviews. 74 respondents were selected by the author through purposive sampling. The findings revealed that there is poor practice of CSR due to none compliance of the mining companies on paying tax, environmental pollution in Tighthe river in north Mara, inadequate compensations to the relocated local communities in Tanzania as well as low contribution of mining companies to the National economy that have turned the Country into resource curse. Also, it was noted that some challenges such as weak legal enforcement and lack of government stake in the mining companies resulting into myth of mining companies’ social responsibility in Tanzania. It is therefore concluded that the government should increase its stake in Mining Companies as it is in Botswana and also establish comprehensive legal and regulatory framework for effective and efficient CSR in Mining sector in Tanzania.

Cellular phone companies have occupied a significant position in the economy of Bangladesh. It has become one of the most profitable sectors as well as a big contributor to the government exchequer of this country. A great deal of economic resources is being utilized in this particular industry. Being an integral part of the society the companies operating within this industry are supposed to contribute towards social welfare through performing corporate social responsibility (CSR). In this backdrop, this study attempts to provide an overview of the CSR practices of the cellular phone companies of Bangladesh with special reference to the nature and impact of those practices. Based on the information provided in the annual reports and websites of respective companies the study has reached a conclusion that all the cellular companies except Airtel are engaged in CSR practices of some sort or other such as education, empowerment & poverty alleviation, environment, health care and others. ABSTRAK  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisa pengaruh profitabilitas, ukuran perusahaan, dewan komisaris, leverage dan pengungkapan media terhadap pengungkapan corporate social responsibility (CSR) pada perusahaan yang go public dan listing di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) untuk tahun 2017 yang menerbitkan annual reports periode 2013-2017. Perusahaan sample pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 66 perusahaan setelah dilakukan purposive sampling. Pemilihan variabel didalam penelitian ini didasarkan atas hasil jurnal-jurnal penelitian terdahulu yang menunjukkan hasil yang inkonsisten terhadap faktor- faktor yang mempengaruhi pengungkapan CSR. Pengukuran dari corporate social responsibility didasarkan pada pengkategorian Global Report Index (GRI) 4 yang terlihat didalam annual reports perusahaan.      Sample didalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan yang go public dan listing di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) untuk tahun 2017 yang menerbitkan annual reports periode 2013-2017. Metode pengambilan sample adalah menggunakan purposive sampling. Profitabilitas diukur berdasarkan return on asset (ROA), ukuran perusahaan diukur berdasarkan total asset, dewan komisaris diukur berdasarkan banyaknya jumlah anggota dewan komisaris, leverage diukur berdasarkan debt asset to ratio (DAR) dan pengungkapan media diukur berdasarkan kegiatan CSR yang diungkapkan di website perusahaan. Metode analisis data yang digunakan didalam penelitian ini adalah asumsi klasik yang menggunakan uji hipotesis metode regresi linear berganda yang diolah dengan menggunakan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial melalui uji t profitabilitas tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pengungkapan CSR sedangkan ukuran perusahaan, dewan komisaris, leverage dan pengungkapan media berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengungkapan CSR. Secara simultan melalui uji f didapatkan hasil penelitian bahwa profitabilitas, ukuran perusahaan, dewan komisaris, leverage dan pengungkapan media secara bersama-sama berpengaruh terhadap pengungkapan CSR. Kata Kunci: profitabilitas, ukuran perusahaan, dewan komisaris, leverage, pengungkapan media.

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of corporate social responsibility, ROA, Leverage, and Size on tax aggressiveness which is proxied by effective tax rate. This research uses a purposive sampling method by setting several criteria and uses secondary data, namely data on manufactured companies listed in IDX on period 2019 and uses time series data. All of population research is 189 companies and getting sample results of 33 companies, data is obtained through access to the official IDX and NCSR websites, this research uses multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the research showed significant and positive effect results between the economic, environmental, social dimensions of CSR on tax aggressiveness, variable ROA, and size also showed significant and positive effect results on tax aggressiveness, while the result of leverage on tax aggressiveness is showed significant and negative effect.Keywords: CSR, Leverage, ROA, Size, Tax Aggressiveness. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan menetapkan beberapa kriteria dan menggunakan data sekunder yaitu data perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di BEI periode 2019 dan menggunakan data time series. Populasi penelitian seluruhnya adalah 189 perusahaan dan mendapatkan hasil sampel sebanyak 33 perusahaan, data diperoleh melalui akses website resmi BEI dan KNKT, penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil pengaruh yang signifikan dan positif antara dimensi ekonomi, lingkungan, sosial CSR terhadap agresivitas pajak, variabel ROA, dan ukuran juga menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan dan positif terhadap agresivitas pajak, sedangkan hasil leverage terhadap agresivitas pajak adalah menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan dan negatif.Kata kunci: Agresivitas Pajak, CSR, Leverage, ROA, Ukuran
