Abstract IntroductionTo evaluate the association between mobile/cellular phone use and risk of three intracranial tumors (glioma, meningioma and acoustic neuroma) based on case-control studies through pooling the published data .MethodsWe conducted a systematic literature search in databases including PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library up to September 2021. The primary outcome was the risk of tumors by mobile/cellular phone use, which was measured by pooling each odds ratio (OR) and its 95% confidence interval (CI). The random- or fixed-effects model was applied to combine the results depending on the heterogeneity of the analysis.ResultsWe ultimately included 6 articles for glioma, 6 articles for meningioma and 8 for acoustic neuroma from 1999 to 2015 . There was no significant association between mobile/cellular phone use and risk of glioma (OR, 0.98; 95% CI, 0.81-1.17; I²=76.9%, p=0.001) and acoustic neuroma (OR, 0.98; 95% CI, 0.76-1.25; I²=60.7%, p=0.013). And no statistical significance was observed between any subgroup of duration of use and these two type of cancer. Howerver, mobile phone use was associated with decrease the risk of meningioma, especially when the time since first use was between 0-5 years (OR, 0.83; 95% CI, 0.76-0.90; I²=39.5%, p=0.142) and 5-10 years (OR, 0.83; 95% CI, 0.75-0.93; I²=32.3%, p=0.194), while the protective effect disappeared in longer term (more than 10/11 years)(OR, 0.91; 95% CI, 0.80-1.03; I²=0.0%, p=0.870). ConclusionEvidence from our study mobile/cellular phone use may decreased risk of meningioma. Further studies are needed to explore the possible influence of long-term use of mobile phone and underlying mechanism.

Abstract Equipment surveillance or tracking is a hard-to-accomplish mission for a multi-locations company. This study examines a complete security system in Alexandria and EL-Dekheila ports of Egypt, as case study, to track equipment location. The system uses RFID (radio frequency identification) and Arduino kit as hardware to detect equipment motion, and visual studio and SQL (structured query language) as software to produce reports. The original place of equipment is saved as a reference. IR and RFID sensors are used at every department’s gate for IT access and for detecting and decoding the received equipment’s RFID card and ID data. Visual studio and SQL help in issuing the report on each equipment’s location and movement time. The system sends instant email messages and cellular phone messages to the control room.

Smart farming is one of the keys for future agriculture because it is a management to use modern technology for increasing the quality and quantity of the agriculture. And because of the planet quality depend on the amount of water and the characteristics of soil, it is necessary to study the soil using the soil moisture sensor to investigate whether the soil is dry or wet, also to consider the challenges that could be faced in agricultural environment by maintain the soil and the planets irrigated without extra usage of water. In this paper, a prototype irrigation system uses Arduino Uno microcontroller which is programmed in C++ language to sense the degree of moisture by using soil moisture sensor. According to moisture sensor readings, when the moisture sensor above 1000, Arduino triggers to supply the water by using 5V mini water pump and stop when the soil moisture sensor reading reaches below 400. GSM technology enables the user to be notified in any changes happening in agricultural area by sending SMS (Short Message Service). Whenever the soil become wet or dry and the mini water pump switched on or off, a message delivered to user’s cellular phone indicating the condition of the soil and the action of water pump. In that capacity, this prototype will reduce the time for the user by monitoring remotely without going to his land, and also to reduce the usage of water by allow the water pump to flow the water for limited time until the moisture degree raise again.

AbstractRobots have been employed in the industrial sectors for over half a century; however, their appearance in the domestic sphere is a modern phenomenon, occurring in just the last decade. These so-called social robots are carrying out a variety of tasks traditionally carried out by humans, and in contexts in which they must interact with human beings. These kinds of social robots are now being used in the welfare services, providing assistive services and companionship for the infirm or elderly, and even children. Thus, the use of social robots in everyday life has triggered an animated debate about the acceptance of these devices by their end users. In this paper, multilevel analysis is applied using data from the Eurobarometer survey (sample size 27,901, covering 28 countries) to investigate how socio-demographic characteristics and country-level indicators of technological and economic development (the rate of high-technology manufactured exports, the cellular phone subscriptions rate and GDP) influence how robots are accepted in the realm of the social services. The results show that only individual (socio-demographic) and technology acceptance model (TAM) factors influence attitudes towards social robots. The effects of the contextual variables considered were not statistically strong enough to explain the attitudes towards social robots for social services.

Summary Cell phones operate with a wide range of frequency bands and emit radiofrequency-electromagnetic radiation (RF-EMR). Concern on the possible health hazards of RF-EMR has been growing in many countries because these RF-EMR pulses may be absorbed into the body cells, directly affecting them. There are some in vitro and in vivo animal studies related to the consequences of RF-EMR exposure from cell phones on embryo development and offspring. In addition, some studies have revealed that RF-EMR from cellular phone may lead to decrease in the rates of fertilization and embryo development, as well as the risk of the developmental anomalies, other studies have reported that it does not interfere with in vitro fertilization or intracytoplasmic sperm injection success rates, or the chromosomal aberration rate. Of course, it is unethical to study the effect of waves generated from cell phones on the forming human embryos. Conversely, other mammals have many similarities to humans in terms of anatomy, physiology and genetics. Therefore, in this review we focused on the existing literature evaluating the potential effects of RF-EMR on mammalian embryonic and fetal development.

The vision of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) envisaged as a global ASEAN has impacts on all sectors, including higher education (HE), a key driver to the goal. However, it is still debatable whether HE can achieve it. This study aimed to draw insights into its impacts with a focus on opportunities, challenges, and implications for HE. This study employed qualitative, comparative, interpretive, and in-depth analysis of documents. The findings revealed that the progress of AEC has a great impact on HE in three areas. Prospective opportunities comprise the services sector and internal cooperation and collaboration. The sector accounted for approximately 50% of the real output in 2018. The top three countries were Singapore (68.9%), Thailand (59.9%), and the Philippines (57.8%). However, a crucial challenge is an inequitable access to digital-driven education due to inequitable access to the Internet among member countries. The gaps of subscribers and cellular phones lie between 94.6 and 33.1 and between 180.2 and 51.9 respectively. Singapore, the regions’ best education and labor mobility destination, has the highest rates of subscribers (100) and cellular phone usage (88.2). For implications, policymakers should foster interconnectivity and digitalization through innovation-driven education. A feasible roadmap for strategic management is also proposed for AEC engagement.

Cellular phone detector is an electronic device that when placed some few centimeters away from a mobile phone pulse-blink by a way of lighting a light emitting diode (LED) whenever a call is made to the phone. The ability of the detector to successfully indicate a light on the LED is highly dependent on the distance between the phone and the detector. Accordingly, there is need to improve the distance of separation. The aim of this research project is to design and construct a device that when placed a few centimeters away from a phone lights up a light emitting diode (LED). The signal detected is enabled by a coil used as an antenna which receives signal and then amplified by a transistor which drives the monostable input pin of the IC 555 timer. Thus, a light emitting diode lights up indicating a call made to a phone. This research discovers that as the number of turns of the coil increases and the calling detector is placed far from the phone, the weaker the signal becomes. Future studies will focus on increasing the distance of the separation to any length that is convenient for use.
