Bibliometric analysis of 3105 publications retrieved from the Scopus database was conducted to evaluate bibliographic content of scientific output on social sciences in Vietnam, for the 2000–2019 period. Our main findings show that the number of publications on social sciences from Vietnam has increased significantly over the last two decades, and there was a spike in the scientific output for the recent three years when the number of publications accounted for 53.76% of the collection. The most productive authors came from a few public research institutes with strong resources as the top 10 institutions participated in 44.22% of the collection. Vietnamese scholars tend not to submit their works to high-ranking journals since five Q1 journals in the top 10 publishing journals published only 6.17% of the collection. For international collaboration, Australia and the United States ranked first and second based on the number of publications and citations. Other countries in top 10 mostly located in Europe and Asia. Research topics were diverse focusing on gender, poverty, HIV, higher education and sustainable development. We suggest that supporting policies and funding need to be provided to help Vietnamese scholars improve their works, and to boost their scientific production in the future.

This essay offers an appreciation of Stuart Cunningham's substantial and diverse contributions to ‘reframing culture’ in Australian research, policy and industry practice, from his early reformulations of Australian film history to his recent work on digital media disruption. The essay discusses the range of Cunningham's institutional and intellectual legacies, suggesting that his advocacy for cultural policy and the creative industries together with his leadership of major collaborative research initiatives in the humanities and social sciences have been especially important for media and cultural studies in Australia. Further, his approach to the project of ‘reframing culture’ is likely to remain a critical task.

This study examined sleep research in athletes published between 1966 and 2019, through a bibliometric analysis of research output in the Scopus database. Following a robust assessment of titles, the bibliometric indicators of productivity for studies included in the final analysis were: Distribution of publications and citations (excluding self-citations), top ten active journals, countries, institutions and authors, single- and multi-country collaboration, and 25 top-cited papers. Out of the 1015 papers, 313 were included in the final analysis. The majority of the papers were research articles (n = 259; 82.8%) and published in English (n = 295; 94.3%). From 2011, there was a dramatic increase in papers published (n = 257; 82.1%) and citations (n = 3538; 91.0%). The number of collaborations increased after 2001, with papers published through international (n = 81; 25.9%) and national (n = 192; 61.3%) collaboration. Australia was the most prolific country in terms of number of publications (n = 97; 31.0%), and citations (n = 1529; 15.8%). In conclusion, after the beginning of the twenty-first century, the scientific production on sleep research in athletes has seen significant growth in publication and citation output. Future research should focus on interventions to improve sleep in athletes.

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to analyze the scientific production of journals on sport and exercise science and physical education in Portuguese that are indexed in the Scopus database by conducting a bibliometric analysis. Six journals related to this field of study and indexed in the Scopus database were selected. Regarding publications, the journals published 3,869 documents while indexed in Scopus, most (90.8%) of which were original articles. The year with the highest number of publications was 2013 (n = 473). The clusters of keywords that were cited most often (“physical activity” and “exercise”) were related to biodynamics. Most journal authors are from Brazil (89.86%). The Brazilian Journal of Sports Medicine had the highest number of publications (n = 1179), the highest average per year (n = 78.6), and reached the highest index in the scientific journal ranking (SJR index = 0.331). We concluded that scientific production increased until 2013. The publications with the highest number of citations and the most common study topics are related to the area of biodynamics. Level of evidence II; Review Study.

When a pandemic outbreak occurs, it seems logical that related scientific production should increase substantially; however, it is important to recognize its interdisciplinary usefulness to find a solution to the problem. The main aim of this research is to analyse the main keywords of the scientific research about COVID-19, by subject area. To discover the influence of certain terms and their transferability, synergies, and future trends, a cluster analysis of the keywords was performed. The results show that Health Sciences dominate the publications with 88.23% of the total volume. As expected, the largest volume of research was dedicated to medical aspects of the disease, like experimental treatments, its physiopathology, or its respiratory syndrome. However, other fields, like Social Sciences (6.07%), Technology (2.68%), Physical Sciences (1.95%), and Arts and Humanities (1.08%), also played an important role in research on COVID-19.

The paper describes the limitations of applying the method of classification of scientific texts based on data compression to all categories indicated in the ASJC classification used in the Scopus bibliographic database. It is shown that the automatic generation of learning samples for each category is a rather time-consuming process, and in some cases is impossible due to the restriction on data upload installed in Scopus and the lack of category names in the Scopus Search API. Another reason is that in many subject areas there are completely no journals and, accordingly, publications that have only one category. Application of the method to all 26 subject areas is impossible due to their vastness, as well as the initial classification of Scopus. Often in different subject areas there are terminologically close categories, which makes it difficult to classify a publication as a true area. These findings also indicate that the classification currently used in Scopus and SciVal may not be completely reliable. For example, according to SciVal in terms of the number of publications, the category “Theoretical computer science” is in second place among all publications in the subject area “Mathematics”. The study showed that this category is one of the smallest categories, both in terms of the presence of journals and publications with only this category. Thus, many studies based on the use of publications in ASJC may have some inaccuracies.

The circular economy was a concept introduced by the European Union consortium, several national governments, and business people around the world. However, the scientific and research content of the circular economy concept is so superficial and disorganized that it is still a vague collection of ideas separate from several fields of science. The purpose of this study is to measure visual trends in the circular economy. This survey identified keywords related to the circular economy to find and identify related articles in the Scopus database for 1000 articles published from 2000 to 2021. The findings were a visual trend of the increasing number of publications each year, academic affiliation, author, article subject area, keywords, and authorship network. This literature review provides evidence that circular economy thinking attracts academic researchers to formulate relevant policies.

This research was conducted following a qualitative content analysis of guidance and psychology; sports and related articles between 1937- 2017, with limitations medicine, psychology, health professions, social sciences, biology, engineering, agriculture, computer science etc. Scopus database was sorted to collect the data where 93 documents were got. This article focused guidance and psychology; sports and related areas. Answers were sort for distribution of the articles according by year, source, author, affiliation, country or territory, subject area, subject sample, method, statistics, and sub areas of guidance psychology. There was inconsistency in the incremental level of the articles in guidance psychology but a significance was recorded in 2015 and 2017.  The findings revealed until early 2000, most of the writers had one article or never at all. But this changed in the mid 2000 where medicine had the highest and more writers involved as the years passed till 2017. The findings also revealed that the qualitative research was used more than quantitative and mixed methods. The distribution of articles by the sub areas of guidance psychology revealed that human medicine and psychology had the most written articles, while health professions and social sciences followed in writers.

In these last decades, digital systems and playful dynamics have penetrated the inclusive education field, in some cases to attend the diversity of the classroom as a whole and, in others, to study in a specific way the use of technologies in students with special needs. About this topic, on the following pages we study the trends of the research carried out through a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production in the Scopus database, which includes an amount of 59 articles, published between 1999 and 2019, are included. The results indicate an increase in the last years of the presence of scientific publications in journals in the field of Social Sciences. Furthermore, data show that the number of articles and the impact of these is scarce, that the predominant country in the publications is United States and that in the cooccurrence of the terms the agents involved in the process, technology and inclusive practices stand out as relevant issues, which implies the urgent need for digital teacher training.
