To date, in the programs implemented according to the Montessori method, the section “Physical Education” has not been adapted. The section is aimed at developing the child's general culture, physical qualities and basic motor skills. In the process of physical education, the values of Maria Montessori are not realized. The Montessori pedagogical system is among the most relevant ones today as modern education is focused on the individualization of learning. The development of health in preschool children depends on their well-organized physical education, which should be directed towards the children's harmonious development and considered in an integrative relationship with the various sections of the preschool education program (artisti c, aesthetic, educational, verbal and socio-communicative development). The aim of the research is to develop the structure and content of the model of physical education of preschool children in the Montessori pedagogical system and check its effectiveness in a pedagogical experiment. To reach this aim, the following research methods were used: pedagogical observations, modeling, pedagogical testing, pedagogical experiment, mathematical and statistical data processing. In the course of the pedagogical experiment, a control (15 girls and 15 boys) and an experimental (15 girls and 15 boys) group were formed; a total of 60 five- and six-year-old pupils of the Montessori preschool educational institution in Tomsk took part in the study. To assess the effectiveness of the developed model, the following tests were selected: shuttle run 3x5 m, standing long jump, medicine ball throw, seated forward bends, ball catching at a distance of 5 meters. The model of preschoolers' physical education based on the integration of personality-oriented, activity-based, synergetic and technological approaches in the Montessori pedagogical system has shown its effectiveness. The research shows a positive dynamics of indicators reflecting the level of preschoo lers' motor readiness after the pedagogical experiment. At the end of the exp eriment, when comparing the indices of motor readiness demonstrated by the experimental group before and after the experiment, statistically significant differences were revealed in motor tests (ball catching at a distance of 5 m, shuttle run (3x5 m), medicine ball throwing), which indicates the effectiveness of the proposed model of five- and six-year-old preschoolers' physical education.

ABSTRACT Background In some regions, multiple vitamin A (VA) interventions occur in the same target groups, which may lead to excessive stores. Retinol isotope dilution (RID) is a more sensitive technique than serum retinol to measure VA status. Objective We evaluated VA status before and after a high-dose supplement in preschool children living in a region in South Africa with habitual liver consumption and exposed to VA supplementation and fortification. Methods After baseline blood samples, subjects (46.7 ± 8.4 mo; n = 94) were administered 1.0 μmol [14,15]-13C2-retinyl acetate to estimate total liver retinol reserves by RID with a follow-up 14-d blood sample. Liver intake was assessed with a frequency questionnaire. In line with current practice, a routine 200,000 IU VA capsule was administered after the RID test. RID was repeated 1 mo later. Serum retinyl esters were evaluated using ultra-performance liquid chromatography. Results At baseline, 63.6% of these children had hypervitaminosis A defined as total liver retinol reserves ≥1.0 μmol/g liver, which increased to 71.6% after supplementation (1.13 ± 0.43 to 1.29 ± 0.46 μmol/g; P < 0.001). Total serum VA as retinyl esters was elevated in 4.8% and 6.1% of children before and after supplementation. The odds of having hypervitaminosis A at baseline were higher in children consuming liver ≥1/mo (ratio 3.70 [95% CI: 1.08, 12.6]) and in children receiving 2 (4.28 [1.03, 17.9]) or 3 (6.45 [0.64, 65.41]) supplements in the past 12 mo. Total body stores decreased after the supplement in children in the highest quartile at baseline compared with children with lower stores, who showed an increase (P = 0.007). Conclusions In children, such as this cohort in South Africa, with adequate VA intake through diet, and overlapping VA fortification and supplementation, preschool VA capsule distribution should be re-evaluated. This trial was registered at https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02915731 as NCT02915731.

Preschool children’s visual-motor coordination skills are very valuable for their academic and social learnings. Using these skills, children have a broad movement repertoire, display better academic skills, participate in classroom activities and social relations, and develop self-regulation. Self-regulation is required for children to set their goals, purposeful planning, monitoring, and adapting. Children are natural players and they enjoy to move and play. Early childhood programs should consider supporting the visual-motor coordination in joint play situations to enhance children’s behaviors. This study used movement activities designed with embedded learning instruction to create cooperative play and increased group interactions among children. The purpose of this research was to analyze the embedded learning-based movement education program’s effects on preschool children’s visual-motor coordination and self-regulation development. For this purpose, an experimental research design with pretest-posttest, control group constructed. Control group children followed their traditional (MoNE, 2013) preschool education program while the experiment group pursued embedded learning-based movement education. Results indicated that both groups of children had significantly better (p.≤.0.05) visual-motor coordination and self-regulation skills. The difference was greater in experience group of children and the correlation was stronger between visual-motor coordination and self-regulation. It has been found that embedded learning-based movement education program positively affected preschool children’s visual-motor coordination and self-regulation.

The early childhood is considered as one of the decisive stages in a child’s life. It’s viewed as the first building block that shapes the child’s personality in all its aspects, as this is when the child begins to deal with his external surrounding. Moreover, during this period the child's awareness grows towards autonomy. He starts to rely on himself in his actions and movement confidently. What the child experiences in his first years, shapes all his upcoming learnings. For instance, during the preschool, the child starts acquiring new principles and grasps some abstract concepts like solidarity, participation, socialization … The institution also works on promoting all the skills which are related to artistic creativity, recreational and educational activities. And since the intervention at this stage has a great impact on the child’s scholastic success, Its consequences positively affect the child’s health and behavior, as well as his cognitive and mental development. Thus, the recent studies have shed light on the child's cognitive development in early stages. And focused mainly on understanding and identifying the factors affecting this development. A reference should be made that the child's cognitive development is crucially related scholastic success. That’s to say, by promoting the executive functions (inhibition - cognitive flexibility – memory – planning and organizing…) at the very early childhood stage is regarded as the cornerstone for building a child’s cognitive skills and acquiring social behavior. This research study aims to explore the children’s executive functions state at their early childhood stage (preschool children) in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses which needs intervention. The study was implemented by using the CHILDHOOD EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING INVENTORY (CHEXI) FOR PARENTS AND TEACHERS. The study participant were 150 children, divided among 10 educators in the second preparatory level at 4 different schools. The latter are part of (The Moroccan Foundation for the Promotion of preSchool education) in the Rabat region. It was concluded that the executive functions of preschool children still need further reinforcement and development by setting up an intervention program.
