The complication of people with diabetes causes an illness known as Diabetic Retinopathy (DR). It is very widespread among middle-aged and older people. As diabetes progresses, patients' vision may deteriorate and cause DR. People to lose their vision because of this illness. To cope with DR, early detection is needed. Patients will have to be checked by doctors regularly, which is a waste of time and energy. DR can be divided into two groups: non-proliferative (NPDR) while the other is proliferative (PDR). In this study, machine learning (ML) techniques are used to diagnose DR early. These are PNN, SVM, Bayesian Classification, and K-Means Clustering. These techniques will be evaluated and compared with each other to choose the best methodology. A total of 300 fundus photographs are processed for training and testing. The features are extracted from these raw images using image processing techniques. After an experiment, it is concluded that PNN has an accuracy of about 89%, Bayes Classifications 94%, SVM 97%, and K-Means Clustering 87%. The preliminary results prove that SVM is the best technique for early detection of DR.

More than 10 years of research related to the development of efficient GPU routines for the sparse matrix-vector product (SpMV) have led to several realizations, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. In this work, we review some of the most relevant efforts on the subject, evaluate a few prominent routines that are publicly available using more than 3000 matrices from different applications, and apply machine learning techniques to anticipate which SpMV realization will perform best for each sparse matrix on a given parallel platform. Our numerical experiments confirm the methods offer such varied behaviors depending on the matrix structure that the identification of general rules to select the optimal method for a given matrix becomes extremely difficult, though some useful strategies (heuristics) can be defined. Using a machine learning approach, we show that it is possible to obtain unexpensive classifiers that predict the best method for a given sparse matrix with over 80% accuracy, demonstrating that this approach can deliver important reductions in both execution time and energy consumption.

Retinal Vessel detection for retinal images play crucial role in medical field for proper diagnosis and treatment of various diseases like diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy etc. This paper deals with image processing techniques for automatic analysis of blood vessel detection of fundus retinal image using MATLAB tool. This approach uses intensity information and local phase based enhancement filter techniques and morphological operators to provide better accuracy.Objective: The effect of diabetes on the eye is called Diabetic Retinopathy. At the early stages of the disease, blood vessels in the retina become weakened and leak, forming small hemorrhages. As the disease progress, blood vessels may block, and sometimes leads to permanent vision loss. To help Clinicians in diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy in retinal images with an early detection of abnormalities with automated tools.Methods: Fundus photography is an imaging technology used to capture retinal images in diabetic patient through fundus camera. Adaptive Thresholding is used as pre-processing techniques to increase the contrast, and filters are applied to enhance the image quality. Morphological processing is used to detect the shape of blood vessels as they are nonlinear in nature.Results: Image features like, Mean and Standard deviation and entropy, for textural analysis of image with Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix features like contrast and Energy are calculated for detected vessels.Conclusion: In diabetic patients eyes are affected severely compared to other organs. Early detection of vessel structure in retinal images with computer assisted tools may assist Clinicians for proper diagnosis and pathology.

Diabetic retinopathy is one of the common forms of diabetic eye disease. DR occurs due to a high ratio of glucose in the blood, which causes alterations in the retinal vessels. Machine learning may be a broad multidisciplinary field that has its roots in statistics, algebra, data processing, and information analytics, etc. Machine learning is used to discover patterns from medical data and provide an efficient way to predict diseases.ML is an application of artificial intelligence it collects information from training data. There are several machine learning techniques are used for the diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy. This paper mainly focuses on the survey of such techniques and also various feature selection mechanisms. This study provides the basic categorization of feature selection techniques and discussing their use.

Sepsis is a major cause of death worldwide. Over the past years, prediction of clinically relevant events through machine learning models has gained particular attention. In the present perspective, we provide a brief, clinician-oriented vision on the following relevant aspects concerning the use of machine learning predictive models for the early detection of sepsis in the daily practice: (i) the controversy of sepsis definition and its influence on the development of prediction models; (ii) the choice and availability of input features; (iii) the measure of the model performance, the output, and their usefulness in the clinical practice. The increasing involvement of artificial intelligence and machine learning in health care cannot be disregarded, despite important pitfalls that should be always carefully taken into consideration. In the long run, a rigorous multidisciplinary approach to enrich our understanding in the application of machine learning techniques for the early recognition of sepsis may show potential to augment medical decision-making when facing this heterogeneous and complex syndrome.
