This paper describes a study of the attitude of Chennai based consumers and agents towards the proposed increase in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The study focuses on the impact of FDI in insurance as perceived by both the customers and agents in terms of viability, service, benefits, and overall benefits vis-a-vis existing scene. A quantitative survey was conducted with a special measuring tool specifically devised for this study. The sample group consisted of Chennai based insurance customers and agents. The results indicated that the customers welcomed the increase in FDI for they perceived better and quicker service, better options, and professionalism in insurance transactions.

This study aims to prove whether transformational leadership training is effective for building anti-corruption attitudes of villages in Kebonharjo village, subdistrict Samigaluh Kulonprogo. This research is an experimental research with one group pre and posttest design.Subject design is 17 people from village of 21 candidates registered. Measuring tool used in this research is the scale of anti-corruption perception made by the researcher referring to the 9 anti-corruption values with the value of reliability coefficient of 0.871. The module used as an intervention made by the researcher refers to the transformational leadership dimension (Bass, 1990). The data collected is analyzed by statistical analysis of different test Paired Sample Test. Initial data collection results obtained sign value of 0.770 which means> 0.05 or no significant difference between anti-corruption perception score between before and after training. After a period of less than 1 (one) month then conducted again the measurement of follow-up of the study subjects in the measurement again using the scale of anti-corruption perception. The results of the second data collection were analysed with Paired Samples Test and obtained the value of 0.623 sign meaning p> 0.05 or no significant difference between post test data with follow-up data so that the hypothesis of this study was rejected.

In this paper, the dynamometer for measuring the forces of the tool in FSW process was designed. The design principle of the dynamometer was adopted octagonal ring deformation to get the forces in FSW process. The design dynamometer was calibrated, the result showed the linearity and cross sensitivity of the dynamometer in allowed range, the worked reliable of the dynamometer was good. It can be used to measure the forces in FSW process.

This study aims to the influence of employee discipline, learning and supervision on the service performance of public works in Bina Marga office of Ponorogo Regency. The results showed the simultaneous influence of discipline and organizational learning behavior on the performance. The results empirically prove that discipline and organizational learning behavior is highly relevant as a measuring tool with sufficient accuracy to determine the service performance of service employees in the Public Works and Bina Marga Office of Ponorogo Regency. The simultaneous influence of employee discipline with learning behavior of organization on employees in the licensing sector at PU in Ponorogo Regency which has an impact on the performance or performance of public services can be illustrated that Public Works Department employees as a learning organization are not far from the mindset that only senior management can and do all the thinking for the whole institution. The learning behavior of organization challenges all employees to utilize their mental resources and potential, with the hope that every employee in the PU office can build their own community based on the principles of freedom, humanity, and a collective desire to learn. As a managerial implication, it can be said that discipline in the work process at the Ponorogo District Public Works office goes hand in hand with the willingness of employees to increas discipline and organizational learning behavior which are correlated to form service performance

Although the abrasive reinforcement in MMCs primarily controls their machining behavior, the properties of the matrix also exert an influence. A 1200 W diode laser was used, due to the large footprint (5×0.3 mm) and the short wavelength (0.94 μm) to pre-treat a 2618 (18% SiC) alloy. The laser heating and self-quenching of the material modified the matrix properties. Machining performance was then assessed by measuring tool wear and edge condition, cutting forces, surface finish, and sub-surface damage. Results indicated that pre-treatment gave less wear, lower forces, and less sub-surface damage although abrasion remained the primary wear mechanism.

Abstract An animal’s pelage, feather, or skin color can serve a variety of functions, so it is important to have multiple standardized methods for measuring color. One of the most common and reliable methods for measuring animal coloration is the use of standardized digital photographs of animals. New technology in the form of a commercially available handheld digital color sensor could provide an alternative to photography-based animal color measurements. To determine whether a digital color sensor could be used to measure animal coloration, we tested the ability of a digital color sensor to measure coloration of mammalian, avian, and lepidopteran museums specimens. We compared results from the sensor to measurements taken using traditional photography methods. Our study yielded significant differences between photography-based and digital color sensor measurements of brightness (light to dark) and colors along the green to red spectrum. There was no difference between photographs and the digital color sensor measurements for colors along the blue to yellow spectrum. The average difference in recorded color (ΔE) by the 2 methods was above the threshold at which humans can perceive a difference. There were significant correlations between the sensor and photographs for all measurements indicating that the sensor is an effective animal coloration measuring tool. However, the sensor’s small aperture and narrow light spectrum range designed for human-vision limit its value for ecological research. We discuss the conditions in which a digital color sensor can be an effective tool for measuring animal coloration in both laboratory settings and in the field.

Augmented reality is a technology that is part of the development of the multimedia world that brings many ideas in various fields of promotion is no exception. The idea of using augmented reality in promotional media (brochures) that aims to improve the quality of information that is applied to the android platform one of them. The analytical method used in this study on validation testing is the product moment correlation technique, then the interval will be made as a measuring tool to determine the variable value of effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction. The results concluded that the effectiveness variable showed at the number 59.817 on a scale > 52.85 - 61.442 which is very close to effective, the efficiency variable showed at the number 23.833 on a scale > 21.145 - 24.574 which is very close to efficient, and the satisfaction variable showed 47.417 at a scale > 42.285 - 49,142 which is very close to satisfying. Based on this, the use of augmented reality technology applied to promotional media can affect the level of quality of information and can display video and audio information on promotional media (brochures) STMIK Bumigora Mataram based on Android.

The complex of theoretical positions as the bases for creation of a new measuring tool of the strength of volitional qualities in adolescence is considered. It is based on the allocation of families of psychological properties of independent volitional qualities. In total, seven such families are distinguished. These include: the family of endurance, initiative, organization, perseverance, decisiveness, independence and courage. Each of them consists of 5 elements that are necessary and sufficient to build a metric scale for assessing the strength of manifestation of independent volitional qualities of a person. There is a test-questionnaire designed to measure the strength of each volitional quality in adolescence, including: content, instruction, keys, and an example of calculating a number of indicators. The psychometric substantiation of the diagnostic tool based on the description of content validity, as well as on the calculation of prognostic validity, retest and one-time reliability is carried out.

Collecting data on learners' performance in different chemistry contents and analysing them to identify their knowledge and understanding in related content areas is a major task of Chemistry Education Research. The data collection process on the learners' content knowledge and understanding of content knowledge requires a standard measuring tool. The preparation of standardized tools for measuring academic achievement requires computer software. All software used in the standardization of a tool comes at a cost and requires training for the researcher involved in handling the situation, which can impede the smooth running of a project. The same was the situation when the author was working on modifying the bonding representations inventory (BRI) for its local use in South Africa. The data analysis laboratory was situated in a different city, 500 km away from the researcher's field of work. Owing to the long distance and communication delay, the author was concerned with delays in the project. It is known that necessity, which can create an opportunity. The Microsoft Excel (MS-Excel) platform was used for standardizing the modified BRI because MS-Excel is available as a standard in MS-Office on the Windows platform. This paper presents a fact. That, a tool can be standardized by using MS-Excel without any complexity.
