Nurses are identified as one of the professional groups with high level of job related stress and related issues. The magnitude of the problem this segment faces is very intensive as a large number of them are women. They are victimized for multiple roles in the home and hospital. Stressors for nurses are always been identified with workload, dual role and pressures which are associated with demands of the existing working environment. The nature of illness/diseases a nurse dealing with has significant effects on the stress and mental health level. Healthcare professionals dealing with psychiatric illness and other chronic/traumatic conditions faces more stress while comparing to the other domains of healthcare. The present study is a cross sectional hospital based study carried out at four centres and 100 samples were collected by judgmental sampling method which consisted of 50 female nursing staff from general hospital and same number from psychiatric hospitals. A socio-demographic data sheet along with General Health Questionnaire was administered and those who have satisfactory health have been considered as further samples. Mental health, stress level, and attitude towards mental illness were analyzed. The results shows that psychiatric nursing staff scored higher in overall occupational stress index and in the subs-domains of role overload, role ambiguity, role conflict, role unreasonable group and political pressure compared to general nursing staff. Also the mental health inventory total score is negatively correlated with role overload sub-domain of occupational stress index scale. Present study implicates the need of comprehensive psycho-social management plans for the professionals working in psychiatric hospitals.

The aim of the study is to assess the severity of occupational stress among the nursing staff of the polyclinic of the SBHI SMKC FMBA of Russia. Results. The assessment of the level and nature, strength and frequency of professional stress of nurses of the polyclinic was carried out, typical and subjectively significant causes of stress in the professional activities of specialists were identified. Conclusion. Coping strategies for coping with stress by nursing staff have been determined. As a result of the work done, it was found that occupational stress among the nursing staff of the polyclinic is a significant problem and needs to be taken appropriate measures. It was found that the development of stress is influenced by such factors as medical experience and the specifics of work. This problem seems to be very relevant in connection with the direct influence of stress on health, mental stability and professionalism of nurses. The focus of the problem of professional stress is the correspondence or inconsistency of the potential capabilities of the professional and the social conditions of his activities.

O presente relato descreve os principais fatores que contribuíram para desencadear o estresse ocupacional no profissional de enfermagem; analisar a trajetória durante o período de experiência entre junho a novembro de 2016, no interior do Estado do Pará; subsidiar propostas que ofereçam melhorias nas condições de trabalho. O método utilizado tratou-se de um relato de experiência com abordagem crítico-reflexivo de cunho descritivo-compreensivo sobre a vivência realizada no período entre junho a novembro de 2016. In accordance with the German annual health report mental disorders of employees continue to grow. In particular the German employees of the healthcare sector have work challenges like demographic change, lack of specialists, etc. Thus it seems obvious that these employees suffer from risk of a high stress level. The present paper focuses primarily on quantitative analysis of the stress level of employees in the rural healthcare sector. This study analyses the mental and physical burdens. The results of this paper support the concept that employees of the healthcare sector experience a strong stress levels. The results also support the assumption that communication and company structure is influencing the individual stress level of these employees. Further results show that physical and mental comfort is strongly influenced by weekly working hours and they show there is an impact of working atmosphere and working conditions to mental and physical burdens.
