Definitive Dynamic MWD Surveys Generate Rig Time Savings and Flat Time Reductions in the Middle East

Abstract Wellbore surveying is a critical component of any well construction project. Understanding the position of a well in 3D space allows for the wells geological objectives to be carried out while safely avoiding other wellbores. Wellbore surveys are generally conducted using a magnetically referenced measurement while drilling tool (MWD) and taken while static, either before, after or sometimes during the connection. The drillstring is often worked to release trapped torque and time is often taken waiting for the survey to be pumped up. All of this consumes rig time and opens the wellbore up to wellbore instability issues. The application of definitive dynamic surveys (DDS) which are static MWD quality surveys taken while drilling and updated continuously. There is no longer a need to stop and take a static survey eliminating MWD surveying related rig time, reducing drilling risks from additional pumps off time and improving TVD accuracy and directional control. The rig time taken for surveying with and without DDS will be compared between similar wells in the field, and detailed analysis of relative tortuosity between DDS and non-DDS wells will also be conducted. Trajectory control analysis will be reviewed by looking at the difference in the number of downlinks between DDS and no DDS wells and also the deviation from the planned trajectory. An overall analysis of on bottom ROP will be made and an analysis as to the relative differences in TVD between static and DDS survey will be carried out. This abstract will outline the rig time and operational savings from DDS, it will detail the surveying time savings, directional control improvements, TVD placement differences to static surveys and provide costs savings as a comparison to previous similar wells. This will be outlined over a number of wells, divided by sections as the wells are batch drilled and provide an insight into the benefits of DDS on a drilling campaign. Some discussion will be made as to the efficacy of the DDS surveys and how their error model has been developed. DDS is a unique and novel way of taking surveys while drilling, providing static MWD quality without the added rig time costs but at a much higher frequency that the typical once a stand survey program. This paper outlines the cost and process savings associated with using the DDS surveys.

This study aims to analyze whether the difference that occurs in the cost of raw materials, direct labor, and factory overhead costs between the standard costs and the actual costs in PLTU LATI is a difference that is favorable or unfavorable. Data collection techniques with field research and library research. The analytical tool used is the analysis of the difference in raw material costs, the difference in direct labor costs and the difference in factory overhead costs. The hypothesis in this study is that the difference allegedly occurs in the cost of raw materials, direct labor costs, and factory overhead costs at PT Indo Pusaka Berau Tanjung Redeb is a favorable difference. The results showed that the difference in the cost of producing MWh electricity at PT Indo Pusaka Berau Tanjung Redeb in 2018, namely the difference in the price of raw material costs Rp. 548,029.80, - is favorable, the difference in quantity of raw materials is Rp. 957,216,602, - is (favorable) , the difference in direct labor costs Rp 2,602,642,084, - is (unfavorable), and the difference in factory overhead costs Rp 8,807,051,422, - is (favorable) This shows that the difference in the overall production cost budget is favorable or profitable. This beneficial difference shows that the company is really able to reduce production costs optimally in 2018.

Chapter 19 starts by distinguishing between the two contrasting perspectives that an economic evaluation would take: the healthcare sector perspective versus the societal perspective. The former is considered a ‘narrow analysis’ which includes only the costs accruing within the healthcare sector, while the latter represents a ‘broad analysis’ that accounts for all resource implications in all sectors of the economy. After an investigation into various types of costs, a ‘limited societal perspective’ is suggested to be more appropriate than either of the two ‘extreme perspectives’. The chapter continues with a discussion of the cost per quality-adjusted life year (QALY) threshold and explains the difference between a demand side- versus a supply-side approach to determining a threshold value for a QALY.

Abstract Objective: To analyze the cost of the terror attack in Nice in a single pediatric institution. Methods: We carried out descriptive analyses of the data coming from the Lenval University Children’s Hospital of Nice database after the July 14, 2016 terror attack. The medical cost for each patient was estimated from the invoice that the hospital sent to public insurance. The indirect costs were calculated from the hospital’s accounting, as the items that were previously absent or the difference between costs in 2016 versus the previous year. Results: The costs total 1.56 million USD, corresponding to 2% of Lenval Hospital’s 2016 annual budget. Direct medical costs represented 9% of the total cost. The indirect costs were related to human resources (overtime, sick leave), revenue shortfall, and security and psychiatric reinforcement. Conclusion: Indirect costs had a greater impact than did direct medical costs. Examining the level and variety of direct and indirect costs will lead to a better understanding of the consequences of terror acts and to improved preparation for future attacks.

We are engaged in a long-term project to analyze the determinants of health care cost differences across firms. An important first step is to summarize the nature of expenditure differences across plans. The goal of this article is to develop methods for identifying and quantifying those factors that account for the wide differences in health care expenditures observed across plans.We consider eight plans that vary in average expenditure for individuals filing claims, from a low of $1,645 to a high of $2,484. We present a statistically consistent method for decomposing the cost differences across plans into component parts based on demographic characteristics of plan participants, the mix of diagnoses for which participants are treated, and the cost of treatment for particular diagnoses. The goal is to quantify the contribution of each of these components to the difference between average cost and the cost in a given firm. The demographic mix of plan enrollees accounts for wide differnces in cost ($649). Perhaps the most noticeable feature of the results is that, after adjusting for demographic mix, the difference in expenditures accounted for by the treatment costs given diagnosis ($807) is almost as wide as the unadjusted range in expenditures ($838). Differences in cost due to the different illnesses that are treated, after adjusting for demographic mix, also accounts for large differences in cost ($626). These components of cost do not move together; for example, demographic mix may decrease expenditure under a particular plan while the diagnosis mix may increase costs.Our hope is that understanding the reasons for cost differences across plans will direct more focused attention to controlling costs. Indeed, this work is intended as an important first step toward that goal.

In this paper, we use publicly available data from the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey - Insurance Component (MEPS-IC) to investigate the effect of Massachusetts' health reform plan on employer-sponsored insurance premiums. We tabulate premium growth for private-sector employers in Massachusetts and the United States as a whole for 2004 - 2008. We estimate the effect of the plan as the difference in premium growth between Massachusetts and the United States between 2006 and 2008—that is, before versus after the plan—over and above the difference in premium growth for 2004 to 2006. We find that health reform in Massachusetts increased single-coverage employer-sponsored insurance premiums by about 6 percent, or $262. Although our research design has important limitations, it does suggest that policy makers should be concerned about the consequences of health reform for the cost of private insurance.

Abstract Background Acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSIs) are common infectious diseases that cause a significant economic burden on the healthcare system. This study aimed to compare the cost-effectiveness of dalbavancin vs standard of care (SoC) in the treatment of ABSSSI in a community-based healthcare system. Methods This was a retrospective study of adult patients with ABSSSI treated with dalbavancin or SoC during a 27-month period. Patients were matched based on age and body mass index. The primary outcome was average net cost of care to the healthcare system per patient, calculated as the difference between reimbursement payments and the total cost to provide care to the patient. The secondary outcome was proportion of cases successfully treated, defined as no ABSSSI-related readmission within 30 days after the initiation of treatment. Results Of the 418 matched patients, 209 received SoC and 209 received dalbavancin. The average total cost of care per patient was greater with dalbavancin vs SoC ($4770 vs $2709, P < .0001). The average reimbursement per patient was $3084 with dalbavancin vs $2633 SoC (P = .527). The net cost, calculated as revenue minus total cost, was $1685 with dalbavancin vs $75 with SoC (P = .013). The overall treatment success rate was 74% with dalbavancin vs 85% with SoC (P = .004). Conclusions Dalbavancin was more costly than SoC for the treatment of ABSSSI, with a higher 30-day readmission rate. Dalbavancin does not offer an economic or efficacy advantage.

Taxes as a source of state revenues are used as a source of funds for governments for national development and measuring instruments to regulate government policies. Taxation or tax review is a measure of all company transactions to calculate the amount of tax payable and predict potential taxes that may arise under applicable tax laws and regulations. This research was conducted at PT. KBIC which is engaged in cargo of Tax Year 2015. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the implementation of tax review of corporate income tax and value added tax. The method used in this research is descriptive comparative. Comparing the results of tax reporting by the company with the calculation of Corporate Income Tax and Value Added Tax at PT. KBIC tax year 2015 from the researcher in accordance with the applicable tax provisions in Indonesia. Based on the results of the research, the tax review of the Corporate Income Tax has found differences in the fiscal reconciliation report on the Office of Travel and Phone Charge accounts. Taxpayers make 100% corrections of the cost of mobile phones. It should be corrected cost of 50% of the cost should be. On the company's travel account, the company can not show the official report or notes in the assignment explaining the subject or purpose of the Overseas official's travel related to the company's principal activity that causes the difference of tax correction between the taxpayer and the researcher. Tax review conducted on Value Added Tax, the taxpayer has reported the fiscal reconciliation report correctly and there is no mistake.

Summary The safe and economical determination of a wellbore trajectory in directional drilling is traditionally achieved by measurement-while-drilling (MWD) methods, which implement magnetic north-seeking sensor packages. Inaccuracies in the determination of well path arise because of random and systematic errors in the measurements of the sensors. Multistation analysis (MSA) and magnetic in-field referencing (IFR) have already demonstrated the potential to decrease the effects of errors because of magnetization of drillstring components along with variable errors caused by irregularities in the magnetization of crustal rocks in the vicinity of wells. Advanced MSA methodologies divide a borehole into several sections and use the average reference values of the total magnetic field, declination, and dip angle for analysis of errors in each section. Our investigations indicate that the variable-reference MSA (VR-MSA) can lead to a better determination of errors, specifically in areas of high magnetization. In this methodology, magnetic reference values are estimated at each station using forward and inverse modeling of surface-magnetic observations from IFR surveys. The fixed errors in magnetometer components are then calculated by minimizing the variance of the difference between the measured and unique estimated reference values at each station. A Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm (LMA) is adopted to solve the nonlinear optimization problem. Examination of this methodology using MWD data confirms more than 20% improvement in well-path-determination accuracy by comparing the results with the corrected path from the conventional MSA method and gyro surveys.

Abstract This study discusses the use of fly ash waste from coal burning on the manufacture of PCC (Portland composite cement) at PT. XYZ Lampung. The purpose of this research is to look at the technical studies and the efficiency of raw materials in the use of fly ash in cement making, in this case PCC cement (Portland Composite Cement). The steps taken in analyzing the data in this study were viewed from a technical aspect by means of a physical test, namely the cement compressive strength test at the age of 3 days, 7 days, and 28 days using the Compression Testing Machine. This test was conducted to see the comparison of the compressive strength of PCC cement using limestone and fly ash as raw materials, then calculate the difference in raw material costs in the year before and after the replacement of limestone with fly ash. The results showed that cement with the addition of fly ash after 3 days, 7 days and 28 days had an increased compressive strength value, which increased 21.69%, 16.07% and 8.05% respectively of the compressive strength of cement using limestone. The use of fly ash as a substitute for limestone has an effect on the cost of raw materials, where the difference between the cost of raw materials in 2019 and the cost of raw materials in 2018 is Rp. 39,440,952,074.
