Presently online courses have been a big agenda in educational institutes apart from their academic hours and to engage students more in their studies apart from their involvement in academic hours. The purpose of this study is how the online program quality can be improved from both a business point of view as well as for the understanding of student's expectations from an online program irrespective of one's interest. In this study, researchers tried to analyze the relationship among various factors involved leading to student satisfaction which become the source of successful online programs. This study applied SEM on smart PLS to analyze a survey of 100 respondents and found that Online program quality Perception is the multifaceted dimension, and it also involves quality instructors who also seen as a significant construct. Based on the literature review and discussions presented the theoretical framework for online learning program course quality was developed. Findings indicate that high student satisfaction is relatively associated with the user-friendly interface, which eases the students to further continue with the course. Along with these quality instructors also contribute much to student satisfaction. Content of course, although assumed to be essential along with the online discussion on forums it was found not significant, which is a surprise and unexpected finding. Based on calculations and modeling estimates, the model is in the best fit. The results show in the form of external loadings of every construct, which is given below explains the variance of respective latent constructs. It was also found that factors are contributing to perceived online program effectiveness which are Course Content, Online Assignments, Interaction with Peers, Quality Instructors, and User Interface respectively. PurposeThe intention for this study was to explore any relationship that might exist between quality of learning experience (QLE), the second construct student satisfaction (SS) and the third construct perceived overall experience (POE) among undergraduate students within the higher education context. This study also attempts to explain the path direction between QLE, SS and POE.Design/methodology/approachThe researchers utilized structural equation modeling to analyze the variables considered for this study – QLE, SS and POE and for hypotheses testing. Respondents for this study were medical students' coordinators of the undergraduate level of medical colleges in the 28 states of India. Data collected for the study were possible by utilizing a questionnaire that was emailed to these student coordinators. The emailing effort returned 198 (n) filled questionnaires (complete) representing 198 institutions offering undergraduate-level medical programs out of a total of 542 institutions that offer undergraduate medical programs.FindingsFindings from this study confirm the relationship between QLE with SS, and PLE. Interestingly, the findings established a significant relationship between SS and POE.Practical implicationsDecision-makers and administrators of higher education institutions (HEIs) can utilize the findings from this study to focus on strengthening important elements of QLE in ways that positively impact SS and POE of students taking online courses and program offerings. The study reiterates the importance of course content, course structure, lecture-delivery quality, instructor mentoring and student-instructor interactions on SS and POE. The role of SS in reinforcing confirmation, perceived usefulness, perceived openness of the online courses and the perceived reputation was established. This relationship is key to administrators while they focus on improving SS and building on the institutions' reputation in addition to their efforts to support marketing and enrollments during the pandemic.Originality/valueResearchers in the past have examined the relationships between QLE and another construct of this study – SS. Past research has also examined the relationship between QLE and POE. However, there is not enough research exploring the relationship between SS and POE. This study establishes the relationship between SS and POE that benefits decision-makers in higher education.

In this chapter, the authors share specific ways in which the Organizational Leadership and Learning Program provides excellence in access, cost effectiveness, learning effectiveness, and faculty and student satisfaction. The program is designed to meet the needs of adult learners with some college but no degree and incorporates the use of asynchronous content delivery and faculty-student interaction. The exposure to course content via an online platform, interaction with students and faculty online, and the development of a learning community at a distance equips students not only with content knowledge, but also with technical prowess that is necessary in a technology-based workplace. Despite the relative ease of access and clear benefits of higher education, challenges still exist with educating an adult population. Therefore, it is essential that more adult friendly practices become integrated into the fabric of traditional four-year colleges and universities.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between service quality, program quality, institutional image and student satisfaction in the context of higher education. Additionally, the study attempts to describe the mediating impact of institutional image between service quality, program quality and student satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach The structural equation modeling was used to analyze the influence of mediating variable and hypotheses testing. The population of this study was fourth-year business students of nine “grade one” private universities in Bangladesh. Data (n = 310) were gathered from students pursuing studies at different private universities in Bangladesh. Findings The findings of this study revealed that image occupied full mediation role between service quality and student satisfaction. Furthermore, it also disclosed that the direct path of service quality and student satisfaction was not statistically significant. Practical implications These unique findings imply that academic authorities should nurture the institutional image and program quality rigorously to enhance student satisfaction. The findings of this study would benefit both practitioners and academics, especially in the perspective of Bangladesh private higher education. Originality/value Past researchers have examined the direct affiliation between service quality and student satisfaction. Hence, there is a deficiency of indirect link between service quality and student satisfaction. This study has incorporated image as a mediating variable to fulfill the deficiency in higher education.

The article deals with the influence of the Ukrainian students’ ascriptive statuses on the course of their professionalsocialization. There are are students’ status positions, educational dispositions and the content and focus of theeducational process among the factors of professional socialization. The ascriptive statuses are considered as socialindicators which may restrict the access of the students to the tertiary education. A number of ascriptive statuses,which may have the restrictive influence, are identified, among which are the sex, the economic and cultural capitalof the family, place of living before the admission to higher education. It was listed the signs of student heterogeneityas a socio-demographic group. The education of students in higher education institutions is considered with the prismof acquiring the competences obtained as a result of the implementation of educational practices. The professionalsocialization is considered as the process of the acquisition of the professional competences during the process of theimplementation of the educational practices. The notion of the professional practice is applied from the standpointof P. Bourdieu’s Constructivist Structuralism and is defined as routineized unconscious acts which are repeated intime and are aimed at the realization of the strategy of the achieving the goal within a certain sphere of social reality.The authors refer to the results of a quantitative survey of Ukrainian students to determine the degree of influence ofascriptive statuses on the process of professional socialization in universities. The relationship between the intensity ofeducational practices contributing to the learning process and academic achievement is analyzed. The existence andhierarchy of educational practices from the point of view of their effectiveness is identified and characterized. Theconclusion is made that there is a significant impact of the set of the students’ ascriptive statuses on the course of theprofessional socialization. As a result the cultural capital of a family of students has the highest “capital intensivity” incomparison with other ascriptive statuses.

This chapter explores the relationship between ethics, wearable technology, and higher education through the lens of teaching with Google Glass. Beginning with an introduction to Glass and to the contemporary concept of the digital citizen, the chapter traces out a pedagogical framework aimed at preparing learners to embrace their civic duty to contribute to the virtual world responsibly. Continuing with an investigation of ethical obligations, educational concepts, and learning exercises made available by advances in HET, the chapter describes how to use Google Glass as a case study for examining the limits and possibilities of a new point-of-view angle on interactive instruction. To this end, students' project-based and experiential learning about how Glass impacts communication culture and technology, commerce, security, access, etiquette, branding, ethics, and law is described. The chapter concludes with a discussion of how technology's ethical consciousness continues to be enacted and embodied via a “collusive” point-of-view angle and third voice that shed light on the ongoing rhetorical and pedagogical processes of expression, experience, and identification in the digital age.

Статья посвящена проблеме психологической безопасности образовательного пространства высшей школы, в частности, – исследованию удовлетворенности образовательной средой студентов гуманитарных специальностей. Актуальность темы обусловлена необходимостью проектирования условий, способствующих сохранению психического и психологического здоровья молодежи. Целью нашего исследования являлся анализ психологического описания характеристик в образовательном пространстве высшей школы, значимых с точки зрения психологической безопасности обучающихся. В данном исследовании изучены взаимосвязи характеристик образовательной среды (позитивные переживания интереса, радости, удовлетворенности, и выраженности негативных эмоций страха, гнева и обиды) с уровнем депрессивности студентов. В статье анализируются результаты студентов высших учебных заведений гуманитарного профиля Республики Татарстан (выборка 7383 студента). В ходе исследования методом анкетирования изучались параметры образовательной среды, влияющие на психологическую безопасность личности – эмоциональное отношение к обучению и удовлетворенность образовательной средой. Данное исследование предназначено для педагогов психологов, преподавателей и заинтересованных лиц в развитии психологически безопасного образовательного пространства высшей школы. Материалы исследования могут быть использованы при организации и проведении мероприятий по психологической профилактике и сопровождению процессов адаптации студентов высших и средних учебных заведений. The article is devoted to the problem of psychological safety of the educational space of higher education, in particular, to the study of satisfaction with the educational environment of students of humanitarian specialties. The relevance of the topic is due to the need to design conditions conducive to the preservation of mental and psychological health of young people. The purpose of our study was to analyze the psychological description of characteristics in the educational space of higher education, which are significant from the point of view of the psychological safety of students. This study investigated the relationship between the characteristics of the educational environment (positive experiences of interest, joy, satisfaction, and the severity of negative emotions of fear, anger and resentment) with the level of students' depression. The article analyzes the results of students of higher educational institutions of the humanitarian profile of the Republic of Tatarstan (sample of 7383 students). In the course of the study, the parameters of the educational environment that affect the psychological safety of an individual - emotional attitude to learning and satisfaction with the educational environment - were studied using the questionnaire method. This study is intended for educational psychologists, teachers and those interested in the development of a psychologically safe educational space for higher education. The research materials can be used in the organization and implementation of measures for psychological prevention and support of the adaptation processes of students of higher and secondary educational institutions.

Typically, Triple Helix relations, between, Higher Education Institutions, Governments and Industry(s) are inferred from patents and research output. Systemic determination of the relationship is because of observations over a period. It is, however, possible to analyze this relation from a system present from the word-go. This then allows for the interaction to be analyzed on the basis of performance and logically gains for participation by all the agents. Several models have been proposed to deduce the Triple Helix Relation and these hold. This paper has however introduced a new dimension to the analysis, by viewing participation from an investor point of view with decision making being of a complex and deductive nature based on the performance of higher education systems or institutions. The TOPSIS supported performance deductions helps synthesis decision solutions that facilitates value determination of performance and its resultant impact on investment gains. Possible future implications for this, are also provided
