Research shows that if clinicians are to deliver effective, evidence-based assistive technology for cognition (ATC) services to clients with acquired brain injury (ABI), they first need opportunities to gain knowledge and experience with ATC assessment and training practices (O'Neil-Pirozzi, Kendrick, Goldstein, & Glenn, 2004). This article describes three examples of train the trainer materials and programs to address this need: (a) a toolkit for trainers to learn more about assessing and training ATC; (b) a comprehensive, trans-disciplinary program for training staff to provide ATC services in a metropolitan area; and (c) an overview of an on-site/online training package for rehabilitation professionals working with individuals with ABI in remote locations.

Background: Veterinary work is considered high risk and involves working with a range of hazards including large animals, high workload and long hours. A key potential hazard is making home visits and providing out of hours emergency care where vets often work alone, without support, and must travel long distances. The current study aimed to examine UK veterinary perceptions of safety climate, lone working and on-call tasks to gain a deeper understanding of the risk and hazards involved. Method: An online mixed-methods survey was used to gather quantitative data relevant to practice safety climate, and qualitative data regarding veterinary perception of lone working and on-call work. A sample of 76 UK veterinarians were recruited.Results: The quantitative results suggest that there may be practice safety climate issues around a lack of communication and discussion pertaining to safety, particularly in terms of maintaining personal safety. Key themes within the qualitative data included feeling pressure to treat patients, dealing with difficult clients, travel concerns and feeling unsafe when meeting clients alone and in remote locations. Conclusion: These findings indicate that personal safety requires more attention and discussion within veterinary practices, and that safety protocols and requirements should be shared with clients.

As more academic and public libraries have some form of bibliographic description of their complete collection available in machine-readable form, public service librarians are devising ways to use the information for better retrieval. Research at the Ohio State University tested user response to paper and COM output from selected areas of the shelflist. Results indicated users at remote locations found such lists helpful, with some indication that paper printout was more popular than microfiche.

Additive Fertigungstechnologien erlauben die bedarfsgerechte Produktion von individuellen Ersatzteilen. Durch Einsatz mobiler Fertigungseinheiten lässt sich mithilfe dieser Verfahren die Resilienz von isolierten Produktionsstätten erhöhen. Um auch außerfachliches Personal zur Bedienung an entlegenen Einsatzorten zu befähigen, stellen digitale Assistenzsysteme eine mögliche Lösung dar. In diesem Beitrag wird ein solches Assistenzsystem zur Begleitung der manuellen Tätigkeiten beim roboterbasierten DED-Prozess in einer mobilen Fertigungseinheit diskutiert.   Additive manufacturing technologies enable the demand-driven production of individual spare parts. By using mobile manufacturing units, these processes can be used to increase the resilience of isolated production sites. In order to enable non-specialized personnel to operate at remote locations, digital assistance systems are a feasible solution. This paper discusses such an assistance system to accompany manual operations of the robot-based DED process in a mobile manufacturing unit.

<p>Aerosols are a major climate forcer, but their historical effect has the largest uncertainty of any forcing; their mechanisms and impacts are not well understood. Due to their short lifetime, aerosols have large impacts near their emission region, but they also have effects on the climate in remote locations. In recent years, studies have investigated the influences of regional aerosols on global and regional climate, and the mechanisms that lead to remote responses to their inhomogeneous forcing. Using the Shared Socioeconomic Pathway scenarios (SSPs), transient future experiments were performed in UKESM1, testing the effect of African emissions following the SSP3-RCP7.0 scenario as the rest of the world follows SSP1-RCP1.9, relative to a global SSP1-RCP1.9 control. SSP3 sees higher direct anthropogenic aerosol emissions, but lower biomass burning emissions, over Africa. Experiments were performed changing each of these sets of emissions, and both. A further set of experiments additionally accounted for changing future CO<sub>2</sub> concentrations, to investigate the impact of CO<sub>2</sub> on the responses to aerosol perturbations. Impacts on radiation fluxes, temperature, circulation and precipitation are investigated, both over the emission region (Africa), where microphysical effects dominate, and remotely, where dynamical influences become more relevant. </p>

Hybrid Unmanned Amphibian Aerial Vehicle (HUAAV) is a hybrid unmanned system consisting of a multi-rotor and a hovercraft. Water quality management, hydrographic survey, bathymetric survey and related application areas still employs time consuming and erroneous traditional methods of using boats to access the test sites. The application of unmanned systems will significantly increase the efficiency of this process by getting access to remote locations of both air and water. This paper deals with the design optimization and finite element structural analysis to validate the structural capability of the hybrid amphibian aerial vehicle for operational conditions. The Reserve Factors (RF) for all the components in the amphibian aerial vehicle are calculated and then optimized.
