Abstract There is neither a surveillance system nor a study to reveal the HD related infection rates in Turkey. We aimed to investigate the infection rate among HD outpatients and implement CDC’s surveillance system. A multicenter prospective surveillance study is performed to investigate the infection rate among HD patients. CDC National Healthcare Safety Network dialysis event (DE) protocol is adopted for definitions and reporting. During April 2016–April 2018, 9 centers reported data. A total of 199 DEs reported in 10035 patient-months, and the overall DE rate was 1.98 per 100 patient-months. Risk of blood culture positivity is found to be 17.6 times higher when hemodialysis was through a tunneled catheter than through an arteriovenous fistula. DE rate was significantly lower in patients educated about the care of their vascular access site. Staphylococcus aureus was the most causative microorganism among mortal patients. Outcomes of DEs were hospitalization (73%), loss of vascular access (18.2%), and death (7.7%). This first surveillance study revealed the baseline status of HD related infections in Turkey and showed that NHSN DE surveillance system can be easily implemented even in a high workload dialysis unit and be adopted as a nationwide DE surveillance program.

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has resulted in a surge of critically ill patients. Hospitals have had to adapt to the demand by repurposing areas as intensive care units. This has resulted in high workload and disruption of usual hospital workflows. Surge capacity guidelines and pandemic response plans do not contemplate how to limit collateral damage from issues like hospital-acquired infections. It is vital to ensure quality of care in surge scenarios.

ABSTRACT: RELATIONSHIP OF NURSES WORKLOAD WITH HAIS PREVENTION EFFORT DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AT PERTAMINA BINTANG AMIN HOSPITAL BANDAR LAMPUNG Introduction: The incidence of menstruation is still high, one of the factors is the relatively high workload of nurses. excessive workload on nurses can trigger stress and burnout. Nurses who experience stress and burnout allow them to not be able to perform effectively and efficiently because their physical and cognitive abilities are reduced which may occur due to an imbalance between the number of patients and the number of nurses working in the hospital. Based on the results of the pre-survey, the comparison of the workload of nurses at Pertamina Bintang Amin Hospital Bandar Lampung and dr. A. Dadi Tjokrodipo by distributing questionnaires to 15 nurses in each hospital. At the hospital. Pertamina Bintang Amin showed that nurses experienced a physical workload of 7 nurses (46.6%) with a score of 27-54, and a mental workload of 8 nurses (53.3%) with a score of > 57. Meanwhile, RSUD dr. A. Dadi Tjokrodipo, the results showed that nurses experienced a physical workload of 5 nurses (33.3%) with a score of 27-54, and a mental workload of 6 nurses (40%) with a score of > 57.Objective: to find out the relationship between the workload of nurses and efforts to prevent HAIs during the Covid 19 pandemic at Pertamina Bintang Amin Hospital Bandar Lampung in 2021Methods: This type of research is a quantitative, cross-sectional design. The population and sample were 110.1 respondents, which were rounded up to 111 respondents. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, data analysis using univariate and bivariate using chi-square test. Results: The physical workload of nurses as many as 57 respondents (51.4%) experienced a high physical workload. The mental workload of nurses as many as 61 respondents (55.0%) experienced a high mental workload. Efforts to prevent HAIs during the Covid 19 pandemic were 64 respondents (57.7%) with bad HAIs prevention. The results of the analysis using chi-square, obtained P-Value = 0.000 so that P-Value <α (0.000 <0.05), it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the physical workload of nurses and efforts to prevent HAIs during the covid 19 pandemic. The results of the analysis using chi-square, obtained P-Value = 0.015 so that P-Value <α (0.000<0.05), it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the physical mental workload of nurses and efforts to prevent HAIs during the covid 19 pandemic.Suggestion: Hospitals as a place for health services should pay attention to the welfare of nurses by increasing the medical team, and paying attention to BOR to prevent physical and mental workloads. Keywords: Nurse Workload, Efforts to Prevent Menstruation, Covid 19                 Pandemic  INTISARI: HUBUNGAN BEBAN KERJA PERAWAT DENGAN  UPAYA PENCEGAHAN HAIS PADA MASA PANDEMI COVID 19 DI RUMAH SAKIT PERTAMINA BINTANG AMIN  BANDAR LAMPUNG Pendahuluan: Angka kejadian hais masih tinggi salah satu faktor nya adalah beban kerja perawat yang relatif tinggi. Abstract Background: In rural areas, epilepsy patients have limited access to specialised care. They usually have to put up with travel and waiting times of several hours. In addition, often the communication between general practitioners (GP) and specialized epileptologists about diagnosis and treatment is complicated by the high workload on both sides and the different prioritization of treatment goals. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility of an interprofessional audio-visual patient-doctor teleconsultation and its acceptance in clinical practice in patients with epilepsy in a rural region in Germany.Method: Ten patients participated in telemedicine consultations in their GP practice. The practice was located in a sparsely populated region of Mecklenburg- Western Pomerania and equipped with technical equipment specifically procured for project-related purposes. An explorative qualitative interview was conducted with all participants. We based this paper on the consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative research (COREQ). Results: Despite initial uncertainties on the part of the patients regarding the consultation setting, all participants found the teleconsultation helpful. Some patients were initially intimidated and felt slightly overwhelmed by the attention provided and the technology used (multiple HD cameras, large high-resolution screens). However, during the consultation they felt supported by their GP and were satisfied that their needs were addressed in a satisfactory and timely manner. The hardware used was not felt to be a nuisance or to interfere with the conversation between doctor and patient. Patients also appreciated the time saved and the organisational convenience compared to a visit to a university outpatient clinic. Most consultations led to therapeutic consequences. Some patients seemed to benefit particularly, e.g. those who needed a change in their medication. Conclusion: This pilot study provides first evidence that teleconsultations between patients, specialists and GPs are possible in rural areas. Interprofessional collaboration between GPs and epileptologists can improve the care of patients with epilepsy. Further research should investigate the effectiveness and efficiency of interprofessional telemedicine consultations for epilepsy and other conditions.

Patient safety incidents at Ahmad Yani Islamic Hospital Surabaya increased by 0.3% in 2019. If not addressed immediately, these problems can give a negative image to hospitals and patients. An error that appears and has an impact on increasing patient safety incidents, stems from a high workload and poor communication. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of workload and communication on the occurrence of patient safety incidents in hospitals. This study uses a unit of analysis as many as 18 work units that directly provide services to patients. Participants include the head of the work unit, the person in charge of the work unit and the person in charge of the quality of the work unit with a total of 90 people. The data was obtained primarily using the instrument contained in the google form. The communication measurement tool uses the Communication Openness Measurement (COM) and the workload uses the WISN calculation. Patient safety incident data was obtained from the PMKP RS team. The analysis was carried out by means of a simple cross tabulation with interpretation using the Pareto concept. The results showed that most work units (83.3%) had a low workload, most of the work unit communication (61.1%) was not good and 33.3% of work units had a high patient safety incident rate. In the Pareto concept, the results showed that workload had no effect on patient safety incidents, while communication influenced the number of patient safety incidents. Therefore, hospitals need to fix the pattern and flow of communication as well as the need for information disclosure so that the flow of information becomes more adequate, transfer of knowledge becomes better and employee understanding of the importance of patient safety in hospitals becomes better.

As microbial contamination is persistent within the food and bioindustries and foodborne infections are still a significant cause of death, the detection, monitoring, and characterization of pathogens and spoilage microorganisms are of great importance. However, the current methods do not meet all relevant criteria. They either show (i) inadequate sensitivity, rapidity, and effectiveness; (ii) a high workload and time requirement; or (iii) difficulties in differentiating between viable and non-viable cells. Flow cytometry (FCM) represents an approach to overcome such limitations. Thus, this comprehensive literature review focuses on the potential of FCM and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) for food and bioindustry applications. First, the principles of FCM and FISH and basic staining methods are discussed, and critical areas for microbial contamination, including abiotic and biotic surfaces, water, and air, are characterized. State-of-the-art non-specific FCM and specific FISH approaches are described, and their limitations are highlighted. One such limitation is the use of toxic and mutagenic fluorochromes and probes. Alternative staining and hybridization approaches are presented, along with other strategies to overcome the current challenges. Further research needs are outlined in order to make FCM and FISH even more suitable monitoring and detection tools for food quality and safety and environmental and clinical approaches.

The article examines everyday practices of rest and leisure among urban women living in the city of Volgograd (Stalingrad) - a city that had been completely destroyed during the war. The goal of the present study is to identify specific characteristics in the everyday practices of women. The methodology combines comparative historical, biographical and aggregate methods. Interviews conducted along the empathy method made it possible to identify the sensual and emotional sides of the respondents' lives. The research is based on ego-documents (diaries, oral history), periodicals (magazines, newspapers), and statistics. The article discusses the concepts of free time and rest as preserved in the memory of townspeople, and also private and public forms of leisure. A major finding is that women's memory and texts reveal sensory and emotional experiences that can be used for the history of everyday life. This allows for an imagination of everyday life from a new angle. Domestic work took away the vast majority of women's free time, and given the cultural potential of the region was still underdeveloped, most city dwellers concentrated pastime activities on their homes. However, with the high workload of women at home and at work, it was leisure outside the home that remained one of the few ways for women to relax and recover from mental and physical stress. The everyday life of urban women in the 1950s and 1960s was characterized by a division of leisure in private and public forms.

Radiologists in radiology courses (RC) at teaching and university hospitals train medical students in competent image interpreting and reporting (IIR). Information extracted from imaging is crucial for clinical decisions and therapies. This article attempted to explore a teaching approach adapted from adult education for clinical teachers in radiology to address learning needs (LN) in radiology by interacting and tailoring teaching content to LN. The following conclusions were drawn: Addressing LN could encourage students to learn about IIR; Integrating students to negotiate teaching content should take place if feasible, despite high workload and little teaching time in clinical routine; Negotiating with students and co-teachers of other imaging disciplines would help to tailor course specifics to LN and avoid redundancies; Interacting with medical students could be efficient and effective for clinical teaching and learning in RC.

Dimension reduction or feature selection is thought to be the backbone of big data applications in order to improve performance. Many scholars have shifted their attention in recent years to data science and analysis for real-time applications using big data integration. It takes a long time for humans to interact with big data. As a result, while handling high workload in a distributed system, it is necessary to make feature selection elastic and scalable. In this study, a survey of alternative optimizing techniques for feature selection are presented, as well as an analytical result analysis of their limits. This study contributes to the development of a method for improving the efficiency of feature selection in big complicated data sets.
