Managing stocks in crisis is an effective method of providing sustainable functioning of the company and maintaining sales on the necessary level. To arrange this process it is essential to identify groups of products bringing high profit, products being in demand and products, which should be denied, as their sales are no higher than 2% of the total sales. The authors consider management of finished commodity stocks as a method to provide sustainability in crisis, in particular, pandemic. At the same time they highlight the key factors of stock monitoring, including possibility to build-up moderate stocks of free cash, methods of building-up and gaining commodity stocks, keep the balance between stock costs and costs of their maintenance, etc. To raise the efficiency of stock management the authors propose the following solutions for accumulating cash: crediting as the easiest way of raising funds to get stocks, which can affect negatively the finance sustainability of the organization; emergency meeting of proprietors and informing them about the strategy of crisis counteracting, including delay of paying dividends; building-up the urgent reserve and discharging unnecessary employees or transferring them on parttime work; discounts and sales, which can clear stock-houses and get needed funds. The article gives classification of products proceeding from 5 groups: leading products, accompanying products, substitutes, complex products and status products, each of the groups was characterized.

In the 6000 ha Lake Volkerak-Zoom, a new freshwater system in the estuarine southwest of The Netherlands, biomanipulation is used as a tool in ecosystem development. The basic ecological concepts for ecosystem development are described. Key factors in the integrated water management are fish stock management and water level management, geared towards creating optimal conditions for northern pike, the dominant predator in mesotrophic waters. The main aspects of the water level management and the fish stock management are outlined.

AbstractThe importance of considering disturbance factors in the product development process is often emphasized as one of the key factors to a functional and secure product. However, there is only a small number of tools to support the developer in the identification of disturbance factors and none of them yet ensures that the majority of occurring disturbance factors is considered. Thus, it is the aim of this contribution to provide a tool in form of a control list for the systematic identification of disturbance factors. At the beginning of this contribution, the terms “disturbance factor” and “uncertainty” are defined based on a literature review and different approaches for the classification of uncertainty are presented. Subsequently, the fundamentals of multipole based model theory are outlined. Moreover, a first approach in terms of a control list for a systematic identification of disturbance factors is discussed. Based on the discussed approach and taking the identified weaknesses as a starting point, a control list is presented that combines the existing basic concept of the control list with the fundamentals of multipole based model theory.

Strategies for the management of small bowel obstructions have changed significantly over the years. Nonoperative medical management has become the mainstay of treatment of many small bowel obstructions. However, the key to the management of small bowel obstructions is identifying those patients who need surgical intervention. Identification of those at risk for bowel ischemia and bowel death is an art as much as it is a science. Using the current literature and the past knowledge regarding small bowel obstructions, the clinician must carefully identify the signs and symptoms that suggest the need for operative intervention. Classification of the obstruction, history and physical examination, imaging, response to decompression and resuscitation, and resolution or progression of symptoms are the key factors influencing the management of small bowel obstructions.

Over more than ten centuries, Maya vaults had great technical developments that allowed to achieve constructive and structural advanced systems and increasingly improved forms. One of the key factors to consider when studying its temporal evolution and the different regional variants is the stone vaults shape. This work is based on data collected during fieldwork and comparative analysis of a wide sample of vaults from different geographical zones and chronological periods, and as a result proposes a classification of the Maya stone vaults. The study of the influence of stereotomy on its form and the analysis of the use of different types of stone vaults by zones offer new data to understand the technological evolution of vaulted Maya architecture and the transfers of building knowledge.

The quantitative classification of transformer supervision can improve the quality of transformer supervision. For the contents of transformer supervision, this paper establishes an index system of transformer supervision. Example results show that the extension matter-element theory which is applied to transformer supervision quantitative evaluation is more reasonable. According to the categories of transformer supervision, this paper quantifies the uncertainty and builds the evaluation system of transformer supervision. It realizes the evaluation of transformer supervision and gets the key factors which influence the transformer supervision. This evaluation system is conducive to guide the transformer supervision to be more scientific and effective.

The idea of the study is that the value potential of the subject is a fundamental element of the knowledge system as part of the realization of the idea of sustainable development in education. The basis of the study used the classification of value categories proposed by Milton Rokeach in 1979. We found that in the main school, the content of the subject “Biology” is primarily aimed at forming ideas about terminal values – “life”, “health”, “nature”; in high school – about terminal values “life”, “health”, as well as instrumental values – “perseverance”. The value ideas of a biology teacher are one of the key factors in the formation of students’ value ideas. In the structure of value representations of biology teachers, the three leaders are orientations towards terminal values. We have put forward the assumption that there is a dissonance between the value ideas of respondents and the values that the school biology course is aimed at forming an idea about.

The fast-paced digitalization of the global economy takes place along the growing importance and share of e commerce in the global trade. International organizations and governments consider e commerce a potential driver of economic growth and improvements in the national welfare, as well as a smart tool for overall catch-up effect. However, there is little agreement among the todays’ academic and political communities about any factors that are key to the development of digital commerce and better ways helping to tackle political and regulatory issues that affect it. Researchers aim at comparing and classifying national economies by the level of e commerce with due regard to the main aspects of their functioning, as well as testing the hypothesis that the level of digital commerce varies significantly by the world economies driven by diffe­rent key factors in the formation of the digital economy. The research methods are goal-dependent and relate to benchmarking performed using multidimensional classification of objects under study, in particular, using agglomerative hierarchical algorithms. Interpreting outcomes involves the logical-intuitive method of generalizing and concluding. The findings of this study are of interest to international and national governmental and non-governmental organizations driving the global, regional and/or national economies, and can serve as a springboard for further research using the insights obtained in the course of this project.

In the analysis of railway accidents, the identification of key factors is an essential step for effective monitoring and daily maintenance of railway system. The existing key factor identification methods are generally based on the importance of ranking, which cannot achieve effective identification and verification because the classification of accident causal factors is not considered. Based on the complex network model, this paper proposes a heterogeneous network model which is suitable for the classification of accident causal factors to find the key causal factors of railway accident. The proposed model considers the causal factors of different types of railway accidents separately. Here, the accident causal factors are taken as the nodes, and their relationships are considered as the edges. The key factors will be determined through the extraction of the key nodes. Furthermore, an improved SIS propagation model is used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. Because of the strong network heterogeneity, it is proved that the proposed method is suitable for finding the key nodes in heterogeneous networks. Morever, the results show that the key nodes found by using the proposed method have more important impacts due to their faster propagation in the SIS model.
