This work aims to describe the clinical, laboratory, and anatomopathological findings of two bovines, one affected by cecocolic intussusception, and the other by dilation with cecal torsion. The clinical examination demonstrated metallic resonance from the right flank, ruminal and intestinal hypomotility, and abdominal distension, in addition to alterations in feces characteristics. Was observed in the two animals leukocytosis by neutrophilia with regenerative shift to the left, and hyperfibrinogenemia. The analysis of ruminal fluid revealed impairment of the microbiota and an increase in chloride levels. The laparoscopic examination performed on one of the animals showed dilation of the colon, the cecum with hyperemia and serous edema, with a dividing halo between affected and unaffected portions, in addition to reddish peritoneal fluid. In the laparotomy, an enlarged cecum was found, with gaseous and liquid contents, swollen and turgid colon, and peritonitis. In addition to the findings observed during surgery, the anatomopathological examination demonstrated, in bovine 01, intestinal intussusception in the region of the cecocolic valve, and, in bovine 02, twisting of the loop at the ileocecocolic junction. Despite the low occurrence of digestive system disorders in cattle, cecal torsion and intussusception represent serious intestinal clinical conditions. These reports take the attention to the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to provide a correct diagnosis of intestinal diseases.

Melioidosis is a relatively uncommon but fatal infectious disease caused by the gram negative bacterium, Burkholderia pseudomallei which is usually found in the wet soil, mud and pooled surface water in tropic and subtropics. Documented reports of melioidosis from Bangladesh have been few and sporadic. All of the reported cases in Bangladesh were on adult. Melioidosis is commonly associated with underlying diseases like diabetes mellitus, renal diseases and immunodeficiency disorders. Early and correct diagnosis is important, as mortality in untreated melioidosis is high. Our patient, an eleven years old boy, a known case of diabetes mellitus, presented with fever for one month associated with right sided neck swelling, abdominal distension & pain for 10 days. He had an abscess on the right side of the neck and hepatosplenomegaly. Ultrasonography of abdomen showed multiple abscesses in the liver and spleen. Culture of pus drained from the neck abscess revealed growth of Burkholderia pseudomallei. After getting parenteral antibiotics and insulin, his abscesses gradually resolved and cured completely.Bangladesh J Child Health 2018; VOL 42 (1) :46-48

Two cases of Hodgkin disease, lymphocyte depletion type, with bronchial involvement are described. One patient revealed involvement of the right upper lobar bronchus, the other patient of the left main bronchus. The correct diagnosis was made by fiberbronchoscope examination with cytologic brushing and biopsy. That bronchial involvement by Hodgkin disease is very rare is confirmed by the literature, where only 20 cases have been so far reported.

The objective of the present study is to evaluate a new diagnostic strategy using clinical findings followed by ultrasound (US) and, in selected cases, MRI. This study included 166 children presenting signs and symptoms suggesting acute appendicitis. Cases classified as suggesting appendicitis according to clinical exams had to be referred to surgery, whereas the other cases were discharged. Unclear cases were evaluated using US. If the US results were considered inconclusive, patients underwent MRI. Of the 166 patients, 78 (47%) had acute appendicitis and 88 (53%) had other diseases. The strategy under study had a sensitivity of 96 per cent, specificity of 100 per cent, positive predictive value of 100 per cent, negative predictive value of 97 per cent, and accuracy of 98 per cent. Eight patients remained undiagnosed and underwent MRI. After MRI two girls presented normal appendixes and were discharged. One girl had an enlarged appendix on MRI and appendicitis could have been confirmed by surgery. In the other five patients, no other sign of the disease was detected by MRI such as an inflammatory mass, free fluid or an abscess in the right iliac fossa. All of them were discharged after clinical observation. In the vast majority of cases the correct diagnosis was reached by clinical and US examinations. When clinical assessment and US findings were inconclusive, MRI was useful to detect normal and abnormal appendixes and valuable to rule out other abdominal pathologies that mimic appendicitis.

Abdominal pain is one of the most common symptoms that family doctors have to deal with in their practice. In the vast majority of cases, the patient considers abdominal pain to be the sign of a disturbance in the digestive system; however, in fact, any organ — the spleen, bladder, organs of the genitourinary system, and sometimes even the heart — can be the «culprit» causing the pain syndrome. Therefore, the family doctor is often faced with a rather difficult task — to carry out a differential diagnosis of abdominal pain and choose the right tactics for further treatment. By its nature, the pain can be acute and chronic, associated or not associated with food intake, arising periodically, having a cramping character or constant. Depending on the localization, it is divided into pain in the epigastric region, pain in the middle and lower abdomen. Often it is the localization of pain that helps to make the correct diagnosis.

Osteogenesis imperfect (OI) is a rare genetic disease of connective tissue, the main manifestation are fractures that are developing due to increased bone fragility in both children and adults. Currently, it is known that the genetic basis of the disease in 90% of cases are violations in the genes COL1A1 and COL1A2. Diagnosis of this disease is mostly based on clinical and radiological data; some laboratory parameters of blood and urine can provide additional information but, due to the low specificity, these tests are not widely used in clinical practice when diagnosing the bone pathology. Separate extensive problem is the realization of timely differential diagnosis followed by the establishment of correct diagnosis and development of the right tactics. Currently, the standard of management of patients with OI is a multidisciplinary approach that allows to perform the necessary examination of a child, to make an accurate diagnosis, and start the therapy in time. A practitioneer should have sufficient knowledge about the disease and be able to apply it practically to realize the treatment tactics.

Introduction. In general, it is equally important in dentistry to be able to examine the occlusion and to register it, store and transmit information from oral cavity. The aim of the study. Clinical and laboratory analysis of inter-maxillary relationship formation efficiency in patients with partial defects of dentition in the position of maximum intercuspation of jaws by means of different bite registration materials selected. Materials and methods. Examination of 10 patients (5 women, 5 men) aged 27 to 59 years was conducted. Upon receipt of teeth impressions of both jaws, and fabrication of their cast models, intermaxillary relationship in the position of maximum intercuspation (MIC) of the jaws with the help of selected registration materials (Consiflex (Ukraine), metallized wax (Germany), Futar D (Germany)) was determined. Results. During clinical examination of 10 patients it was found that when using Futar D registration material, biometric deviation of markers (BDM) index in the region of teeth 16-46 was (0.03±0.03) mm, 26-36 - (0.035±0.03) mm (p-value more than 0.75). At the same time, BDM index in the region of teeth 13-44 reached (0.05±0.03) mm, and teeth 23-34 demonstrated values (0.04±0.03) mm (p-value more than 0.5). Studies in the region of teeth 21-31 established BDM value within (0.01±0.03) mm. Application of Consiflex as a registration material demonstrated that BDM index in the region of molars on the right was (0.065±0.04) mm, on the left it reached (0.05±0.05) mm (p-value more than 0.49). According to the results of the study conducted, this index in the region of upper incisors - lower premolars on the right reached (0.08±0.03) mm, being (0.07±0.03) mm (p-value more than 0.53) between these pairs of teeth-antagonists on the left side. BDM index in the region of teeth 21-31 was determined in the range of (0.03±0.05) mm. Application of metallized wax as a registration material demonstrated that BDM index in the region of molars on the right was (0.085±0.02) mm, on the left it reached (0.07±0.03) mm (p-value more than 0.28). According to the results of the study conducted, this index in the region of upper incisors - lower premolars on the right reached (0.10±0.03) mm, being (0.08±0.03) mm (p-value more than 0.21) between these pairs of teeth-antagonists on the left side. BDM index in the region of teeth 21-31 was determined in the range of (0.04±0.05) mm. During laboratory study of cast models of 10 patients in the MIC position, it was found that when using Futar D registration material, BDM index in the region of teeth 16-46 was (0.03±0.03) mm, teeth 26-36 - (0.35±0.03) mm (p-value more than 0.75). At the same time, this index in the region of teeth 13-44 was (0.055±0.04) mm, teeth 23-34 - (0.045±0.04) mm (p-value more than 0.59), respectively. In the region of teeth 21-31, its value reached (0.01±0.03) mm. Application of Consiflex demonstrated that BDM index on cast models in the region of molars on the right was (0.07±0.05) mm, on the left it reached (0.55±0.055) mm (p-value more than 0.53). According to the results of the studies, this index in the region of upper incisors - lower premolars on the right reached (0.09±0.04) mm, being (0.08±0.04) mm (p-value more than 0.59) between these pairs of teeth-antagonists on the left side. BDM index in the region of teeth 21-31 was determined in the range of (0.03±0.05) mm. Application of metallized wax as a registration material demonstrated that BDM index on cast models in the region of molars on the right was (0.095±0.03) mm, on the left it reached (0.08±0.03) mm (p-value more than 0.23). According to the results of studies, this index in the region of upper incisors - lower premolars on the right reached (0.11±0.03) mm, being (0.09±0.04) mm (p > 0.23) between these pairs of teeth-antagonists on the left side. BDM index in the region of teeth 21-31 reached (0.045±0.05) mm. Conclusions. Application of Futar D demonstrates lower optimum (0.00-0.08 mm) of differences between biometric deviation of markers indices, suggesting better complementarity during maximum intercuspation registration of this material in comparison with Consiflex (0.00-0.11 mm) and metallized wax (0.00-0.13 mm).

The article deals with the importance of nutritional support for cancer patients. The high frequency of malnutrition and impaired absorption of macro and micronutrients in cancer patients and, which, at its maximum, is anorexia-cachexia syndrome, is the direct cause of the patient’s death. The progression of the tumor process is always accompanied by a violation of nutritional status, which is manifested in changes in weight, weakness, decreased physical activity, and disorders of the digestive system. It is estimated that about half of cancer-related deaths can be prevented, many of which are due to diet and lifestyle. Dietary factors can be involved in the initiation of tumor growth (carcinogens), promote growth, or have protective activity against the development of cancer. Therefore, nutritional support is one of the important components of a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of cancer. Based on the analysis of the literature, the main tasks of nutritional support, indications, methods and criteria for the effectiveness of therapeutic nutrition are determined for the practitioner, a brief overview of the diets that are used by cancer patients is presented, and a list of anticarcinogenic products is compiled. Key words: anticarcinogenic products, diet, nutritional support, cancer patient, cancer prevention, nutrition.

Oral hygiene is defined as the practice of keeping the mouth clean and healthy, by brushing and flossing to prevent the occurrence of any gum diseases like periodontitis or gingivitis. The main aim of oral health hygiene is to prevent the buildup of plaque, which is defined as a sticky film of bacteria and food formed on the teeth. The coastal guard is an official who is employed to watch the sea near a coast for ships that are in danger or involved with illegal activities. Coastal guards have high possibilities of being affected by mesothelioma or lung cancer due to asbestos exposure. So, a questionnaire consisting of 20 questions was created and circulated among a hundred participants who were coastal guards, through Google forms. The responses were recorded and tabulated in the form of bar graphs. Out of a hundred participants, 52.4% were not aware of the fact that coastal guards have high chances of developing lung cancer and Mesothelioma. 53.7% were aware of the other oral manifestations of lung cancer other than bleeding gums. Majority of the coastal guards feel that they are given enough information about dental hygiene protocols. Hence, to conclude, oral hygiene habits have to be elaborated using various tools in the right manner to ensure better health of teeth and gums.

Buying and selling is a way to transfer land rights according to the provisions in Article 37 paragraph (1) of Government Regulation Number 24 of 1997 concerning Land Registration which must include the deed of the Land Deed Making Official to register the right of land rights (behind the name) to the Land Office to create legal certainty and minimize the risks that occur in the future. However, in everyday life there is still a lot of buying and selling land that is not based on the laws and regulations that apply, namely only by using receipts and trust in each other. This is certainly very detrimental to both parties in the transfer of rights (behind the name), especially if the other party is not known to exist like the Case in Decision Number 42 / Pdt.G / 2010 / PN.Mtp
