In this chapter the impact of using a learning management system on pre-service and in-service teachers' evaluation of a teacher educator in a teacher training university was compared. Two groups of students participated in the study and for one semester experienced a blended learning where the extension of academic activities of the course Materials Evaluation and Syllabus Design was presented via a learning management system online. At the end of the course both groups' evaluation of the instructor's teaching was compared in two aspects: teaching style and student-teacher interaction. The result showed that there was a significant difference between two groups' evaluation of the educator. Pre-service teachers were found to have higher attitudes towards teaching effectiveness and they were more satisfied with both teachers' teaching style and social behavior.

This chapter discusses the role of corporate universities in the field of higher education and the impact of the same on conventional or traditional universities and their corresponding business schools. This chapter also proposes some strategic actions for the traditional universities to pursue in order to maintain competitive advantage over the emerging corporate universities. Some of these strategic actions include promoting and developing strong long-term and multipurpose strategic alliances with the industry, government institutions, and community development groups. Collaborative strategies are better than competitive behavior in terms of long-term benefits and costs associated with each of these strategies. Moreover, being in the forefront of learning innovation and knowledge management combined with the provision of high quality education and trainings through innovative, diverse, and flexible academic and training programs will help the traditional universities to remain the main supplier of knowledge in times to come.

Learning and development has become increasingly challenging, critical, sophisticated and vital in knowledge based global economy. This trend is now accelerating in the rest of Asia and the Middle East. Corporations such as Infosys in India, Huawei in China, Singapore Airlines in Singapore and Etisalat in the United Arab Emirates have well-established corporate universities/learning centers. Other Asian and Middle Eastern corporations, both large and small, are following suit and allocating huge resources to strengthen their learning and development function. As corporate universities make new waves, the days of viewing them as training departments with fancy names are gone. Besides, the corporate university movement has become truly global in scope with them becoming sophisticated and highly visible world over. Using published research and the author's own work, this paper explores the current state of the corporate university and role of corporate university in higher education.

The socio-economic situation in modern Spain is complex in many aspects, which makes it possible to characterize the current state of affairs as a multidimensional crisis. The Spanish case shows the interconnection of demographic processes with structurally complicated social phenomena. An overview of the demographic decline and birth rate drop is examined, as well as the plight of young Spaniards as a result of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is given. The article also explores the problems of elder generation going through difficult times. On the basis of statistical data, the authors analyze the medium term prospects in the dynamics of population panorama, examine the impact of the migration factor, and show how the changing age structure and its attendant consequences pose an ever-wider range of issues for society, concerning both the younger generation and other age groups. From the perspective of demographic transformations, the article observes the situation in the pension sector, in light of the fact that Spain is one of the rapidly aging countries. The methodological approach used by the authors for a comprehensive analysis of demographic and socio-economic problems makes it possible to identify a range of interrelationships between the most important pillars of the Spanish social model.

Particularly, it looks at the successful adaptation and implementation of learning management system as an aid to learning and delivery of a computer application subject to a class that is majorly populated by business students with little or no IT background. This paper tests the continued success to establish whether the success recorded after the first implementation was sustainable or merely influenced by the Hawthorn effect of trialing an innovation. It concludes with final grade measure over a one-year period of implementation of the system, and student responses that strongly support the original approach used by the author.
