Blind people tend to feel insecure when socializing with other people because of their limitations. Braille Dare or Truth (B-DoT) Card is an innovation of playing cards for the visually impaired designed to increase self-confidence. The purpose of this activity is to find out the benefits of the B-DoT Card game in increasing the confidence of the blind at SLB Muhammadiyah Jombang. Beginning with making a B-DoT Card designed using Adobe Illustrator, printed, and added braille manually using a reglet and stylus. After the card was finished, it was continued by visiting SLB Muhammadiyah Jombang to interact directly with blind people in August 2021. Two blind people were found who were willing to participate in this activity. Blind people are taught, trained, and assisted in playing B-DoT Card games while observing the self-confidence shown by the blind. The observations included being more confident attitude towards self-ability, optimism is a positive view of hope in playing the game, objective is a view of the problem in accordance with the reality that occurs, rational is thinking that is accepted by sense and in accordance with reality. Before the game was played, the blind people showed an attitude lack of confidence. In contrast, after the game, the blind people showed an attitude of confidence. The B-DoT Card game can be recommended as an effort to increase self-confidence for blind people at SLB Muhammadiyah Jombang.

Purpose: Artificial intelligence (AI) will be at the forefront of any modern communication in the future, so this research is carried out to find out the strengths and limitations of the AI based image recognizing app (AI poly) for the visually impaired people and also to assess the self-confidence of such people before and after using the app Methodology: 40 visually impaired people from the Atmadeepam Society (Nagpur, India) who are computer - educated and smartphone users considered for the study using mixed research methods. For measuring the app usability, InApp survey is undertaken and for finding the self-confidence; ASCI inventory is done Findings: More than 80% of the respondents are satisfied with the app however; this does not hold true for the Indian food items recognizing feature of the app as the satisfaction is as low as 63%. There is a marginal improvement seen in their self-confidence post regularly using this app for three months Practical Implications: It is evident from the findings that these visually impaired people are extremely happy in using this AI poly app to overcome their navigation challenges and get confidence in doing their own things independently On the other hand, research finding also shows a set of people who are not convinced fully with the AI based apps functioning. These were typically based on incorrect object identification, difficulty in understanding the accent of the voice assistants Social Implications: The visually impaired will be better equipped to function due to increased confidence, positive attitude and thus gaining a place in society as an active contributor to the economy, which will contribute to the Disabilities integration Originality / Value: The paper attempts to study modern AI accessibility applications for visually impaired persons, in particular related to object recovery in the Indian context. And to assess their self-confidence post using the app.

Changing ideas on the nature of and relationship between the senses in nineteenth-century Europe constructed blindness as a disability in often complex ways. The loss or absence of sight was disabling in this period, given vision’s celebrated status, and visually impaired people faced particular social and educational challenges as well as cultural stereotyping as poor, pitiable and intellectually impaired. However, the experience of blind people also came to challenge received ideas that the visual was the privileged mode of accessing information about the world, and contributed to an increasingly complex understanding of the tactile sense. In this chapter, we consider how changing theories of the senses helped shape competing narratives of identity for visually impaired people in the nineteenth century, opening up new possibilities for the embodied experience of blind people by impressing their sensory ability, rather than lack thereof. We focus on a theme that held particular social and cultural interest in nineteenth-century accounts of blindness: travel and geography.

AIMS: To verify the effectiveness of the simulation in the self-confidence of nursing students for extra-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation. METHODS: A quasi-experimental, before and after, single-group study, was performed with nursing undergraduate students. The sample was recruited among university students who were in the second or third year of graduation and accepted to participate in the research. The intervention protocol consisted of individual participation in a emergency simulated clinical scenario. The simulated scenario adopted consisted of cardiopulmonary resuscitation in extra-hospital cardiorespiratory arrest, using the Mini Anne Plus® low fidelity manikin. In addition to the sociodemographic variables, students' self-confidence for emergency action was analyzed, evaluated by the Self-Confidence Scale, before and after each simulation. Marginal and homogeneous Wilcoxon homogeneity tests were applied, and the accepted significance level was 5%.RESULTS: Thirteen two undergraduate students in nursing between the ages of 18 and 38 participated in the study. Statistically significant differences (p < 0.001) were observed in the answers of all the questions of the Self-confidence Scale when compared before and after the simulation. There was also a statistically significant increase (p < 0.001) in cardiological, respiratory and neurological scores after simulation.CONCLUSIONS: The simulation proved to be an effective educational strategy in increasing the self-confidence of nursing students to perform extra-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Current risk prioritization approaches for FMEA models are insufficient to cope with risk analysis problem in which the self-confidence of expert’s judgment and the deviation among risk evaluation information are considered, simultaneously. Therefore, to remedy this limitation, this paper reports an extended risk prioritization approach by integrating the MULTIMOORA approach, Z-numbers and power weighted average (PWA) operator. Firstly, the Z-numbers with triangular fuzzy numbers are applied to reflect the self-confidence and uncertainty of expert’s judgment. Next, the PWA operator for Z-numbers (Z-PWA) with similarity measure is proposed to obtain the group risk evaluation matrix by considering the influence of the deviation among risk evaluation information. Then, an extended version of MULTIMOORA method with developed entropy method is presented to calculate risk priority ranking order of each failure. Finally, the equipment failures in a certain oil and gas plant is utilized to test the extended risk prioritization approach for FMEA model. After that, the sensitivity and comparison studies are led to illustrate the availability and reliability of the proposed risk prioritization approach for FMEA based risk analysis problem.
