Microscale Chemistry has become the method of choice for the teaching laboratories in the United States. This introspective look at the development of microscale Chemistry details the advantages prornised by microscale Chemistry during the early developmental phase of microscale in the United States. These advantages are then compared to the current usage of microscale. This comparison is designed to highlight areas for potential development of the field.

Lately Malaysia energy consumption versus generation rapidly shows increasing due to increasing of load. This phenomenon happened following to advanced country development. Lacking on design and without energy management approach the energy consumption and monthly electrical bill will steadily increased and support the increasing of world carbon emission. Therefore the aim of this work is to approach the simplest innovation task-energy audit , which is load-apportioning strategy. This approach using matching the usage of equipment with fully utilized space and reschedules the time of usage. A one week data was collected by logged power meter at main switchboard at selected building using Fluke Power Recorder. From the data collected, current usage of every load can be determine, then load will be arrange into a group with same portion and same time of usage. The result shows clearly the energy consumption for every single day and indicates the highest and lowest peak. From this work the apportioning strategy implemented by rearrange the load following type of room application. After the arrangement, new measurement was taken and a very good result was established. This work also can be further apply for a huge load that can be save a lot of money for owner especially government by energy saving.

AbstractIndefinites display a great functional variety and they give rise to different pragmatic effects. We focus on free choice indefinites and in particular on the Italian qualsiasi. Our aim is to reconstruct the grammaticalization path of this item and understand how diachronic data might shed some light on existing semantic theories of free choice. We employ corpus-based tools to build a database containing occurrences of qualsiasi from its origin and early forms to its current usage. We show that qualsiasi emerged from a particular unconditional construction and we outline the different stages which led to its grammaticalization. We analyze the compatibility of our diachronic study with formal accounts of free choice inferences, with a focus on Alternative Semantics analyses for indefinite pronouns and so-called grammatical theories of free choice. Our work shows that an integration between formal semantics and historical linguistics is fruitful and worth pursuing.

AIS was primarily developed to exchange vessel-related data among vessels or AIS stations by using very-high frequency (VHF) technology to increase safety at sea. This study evaluates the formal integrity, availability, and the reporting intervals of AIS data with a focus on vessel movement prediction. In contrast to former studies, this study is based on a large data collection of over 85 million AIS messages, which were continuously received within a time period of two months. Thus, the evaluated data represent a comprehensive and up-to-date view of the current usage of AIS systems installed on vessels. Results of previous studies concerning the availability of AIS data are confirmed and extended. New aspects such as reporting intervals are additionally evaluated. Received messages are stored in a database, which allows for performing database queries to evaluate the obtained data in an automatic way. This study shows that almost ten years after becoming mandatory for professional operating vessels, AIS still lacks availability for both static and dynamic data and that the reporting intervals are not as reliable as specified within the technical AIS standard.

We investigate the interplay between phase synchronization and amplitude synchronization in nonlinear dynamical systems. It is numerically found that phase synchronization intends to be established earlier than amplitude synchronization. Nevertheless, amplitude synchronization (or the state with large correlation between the amplitudes) is crucial for the maintenance of a high correlation between two time series. A breakdown of high correlation in amplitudes will lead to a desynchronization of two time series. It is shown that these unique features are caused essentially by the Hilbert transform. This leads to a deep concern and criticism on the current usage of phase synchronization.

Among the many virtues of the article by Lamy et al., "Congenital Absence of Betalipoproteins" (Pediatrics, 31:276, 1963) is the generally excellent English, with virtually no translationese. But the reader unversed in French may be puzzled by the legend of Figure 11, page 286: "Gelosis immunoelectrophoresis." "Gelosis" is clearly intended to render gélose, the French word for agar, or, in the current usage when referring to electrophoresis, agar-gel. The ending -sis is doubtless derived from the French -se, as in nephrosis for nephrose, analysis for analyse. A different law of transliteration applies to chemical substances, in whose names -ose is used in both French and English, as in glucose, identical in the two languages. Indeed, Dorland's Medical Dictionary gives gelose "a carbohydrate, (C4H10O5)n, from agar."

One of the communication technologies that can be used for monitoring current usage is communication technology via electric grids or what is called Power Line Communication (PLC). The advantages of this technology are that the electricity network is already distributed in each building so there is no need for new installations, it is economical and affordable in terms of economics, and is more practical and flexible in its use. In this study, a current usage monitoring system using PLC is proposed which will be applied in every class in the AI ??building of Malang State Polytechnic. The sensor that will be used in measuring the current value is the current sensor SCT-013. By using the KQ330 PLC module as a PLC transmission modem. The implementation of PLC which is applied in each class in the AI ??building has a BER (bit error rate) value of 0.012 in the experiment of sending 1000 data with an error of 12 times at the farthest distance of approximately 15 meters. And have a BER value of 0 or have no error in sending data at the closest distance of approximately 2-5 meters. In this study, the process of sending and receiving data using Power Line Communication allows it to be done at a distance that is not too far away to avoid excessive data errors.
