Kata Kunci: tes, keterampilan, woodball, pemula   DEVELOPMENT OF WOODBALL SKILL TEST FOR BEGINNERS Abstract This study aims to develop: (1) a woodball skill test for beginners valid, (2) a woodball skill test for beginners reliabel, and (3) a woodball skill categorization for beginner athletes. This study was a research and development consisting of six steps, i.e: needs assessment, analysis of product development, writing performance strategy, developing assessment instruments, designing and evaluating instruction, and revising instruction. Research trials involved 37 beginner athletes from Woodball Club Buleleng, Bali and Woodball Club Jepara, Jawa Tengah. The validity coefficient of the test was obtained from construct validity with inter-item correlations and criterion-related validity by correlating the results of the test and the results of the game of 12 fairways. The reliability testing of the product scores used the test-retest method. The results of this study are the woodball skill test for beginners: (1)it is valid with the validity coefficient of 0.830, (2) it is reliable with the coefficient reliability of 0.905, (3) it is also accompanied with woodball skill categorization for beginner athletes. Key words: test, skill, woodball, beginner

New Product Development (NPD) is vital in assisting Research and Development (R&D) based organizations to adapt to the changes in markets and technology for competitive advantage. Ensuring the success of new products and optimization of new product performance is critical and essential for Research and Development based organizations.  Hence, this study is carried out to explore does organizational background in term of company’s ownership (i.e. local or multinational companies) and operational scales (i.e. number of Research and Development staffs) affect NPD performance of Research and Development companies in Malaysia. In line with this, 8 New Product Development performance attributes were identified from literature review. These attributes were subsequently formulated into a survey questionnaire and responded by 186 respondents. Thereafter, the effect of organizational ownership and operational scale toward NPD performance are examined separately via Independent Sample t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Finding from the study revealed that the level of NPD performance in multinational R&D companies is higher than local R&D companies. Findings from this research also implied that NPD performance can be further improved by increasing number of R&D staffs.

This study aimed to adapt the measurement of Interest in Research developed by Bishop Bieschke (1998). This development is necessary to map the potential of lecturers in research interest. This further will be useful for the development of programs or policies that facilitate the increasing of lecturer interest towards research. The measurement tools that have been adapted here, comprising Research Self-Efficacy and Interest in Research. Based on previous finding, these two were more significant in predicting Research Productivity (Bieschke, Herbert, Bard, 1998). The development of these measurements was analyzed by the construct validity testing, criterion-based validity testing, and reliability testing. The result of the construct validity testing of the Research Self-Efficacy by using Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA) has exhibited three dimensions namely: Research Implementation, Research Planning, and Research Teamwork. The result of criterion-based validity testing has indicated a significant positive correlation between Research Self-Efficacy and Research Productivity (r) = .321, p.01) and between Interest in Research and Research Productivity (r) = .229, p.01). Whilst the result of reliability testing has indicated that both measuring instruments have high reliability, that is equal to .981 for Research Self-Efficacy, and .953 for Interest in Research.

Abstract: This article is a result of an R&D (Research & Development) study which used a 4-D model to develope a teaching material in the form of student’s work sheet that based on science process skill. A valid teaching material has been developed in 2015. The framework of the work sheets was composed of identify (core competence, basic competence, topic, objective), inquiry question, analytical question, and conclusive question. The framework could minimalized the guiding expalanation as often found in experiment manual books. The result showed that the students’ performance in practicing the experiment given was in sufficient category, all of the student were responded positively and all of the activities expected in the learning process were impelemented.  Key words: work sheet, science process skill.

Schistosomiasis is an acute and chronic disease that affects over 200 million people worldwide, and with over 700 million people estimated to be at risk of contracting this disease, it is a pressing issue in global health. However, research and development (R&D) to develop new approaches to preventing, diagnosing, and treating schistosomiasis has been relatively limited. Praziquantel, a drug developed in the 1970s, is the only agent used in schistosomiasis mass drug administration (MDA) campaigns, indicating a critical need for a diversified therapeutic pipeline. Further, gaps in the vaccine and diagnostic pipelines demonstrate a need for early-stage innovation in all areas of schistosomiasis product R&D. As a platform for public-private partnerships (PPPs), the WIPO Re:Search consortium engages the private sector in early-stage R&D for neglected diseases by forging mutually beneficial collaborations and facilitating the sharing of intellectual property (IP) assets between the for-profit and academic/non-profit sectors. The Consortium connects people, resources, and ideas to fill gaps in neglected disease product development pipelines by leveraging the strengths of these two sectors. Using WIPO Re:Search as an example, this article highlights the opportunities for the PPP model to play a key role in the elimination of schistosomiasis.
