The high-resolution spectra of the “hot” 2ν2-ν2 band of the 15NH2D and 15NHD2 molecules were studied for the first time. The analysis is based on the ground state combination differences method. As a result, the energy structure of the inversion-vibrational state (v2 = 2, s) was obtained for both studied molecules; more than 480 vibrational-rotational transitions of the “hot” bands were assign. The values of the upper energy levels determined on the basis of the line positions were used as initial data to determine the spectroscopic parameters of the state (v2 = 2, s).

Fourier transform spectra of the ν2 band of PH3 have been remeasured with 0.0045 cm-1 resolution. Ground state combination differences from these data have been fitted simultaneously with the microwave and submillimeterwave data to determine the ground state spectroscopical parameters of PH3 including the parameters of the Δk = ± 3n interactions. The correlation between the latter parameters has been discussed from the point of view of the existence of two equivalent effective rotational operators which are related by a unitary transformation. The ΔJ = 0, +1, ΔK = 0 (A1 ↔ A2, E ↔ E) rotational transitions in the ν2 and ν4 states have been measured for the first time by using a microwave spectrometer and a radiofrequency spectrometer with acoustic detection.

The decay of bromine-76 was studied using high resolution HpGe detectors in singles and coincidence mode. Bromine-76 was produced via two reactions: 75 As (α,3 n )76 Br and 76 Se ( p , n )76 Br . The results of these experiments verified the previously reported levels of 76 Se . In addition to the previously described transitions and levels, 37 new γ-rays and 15 new energy levels were found for the first time.

The characteristics of the Jefferson LAB electron beam, together with those of the experimental equipments, offer a unique opportunity to study hypernuclear spectroscopy via electromagnetic induced reactions. Experiment 94-107 started a systematic study on 1p-shell targets, 12 C , 9 Be and 16 O . We present the results from 12 C , 16 O and very preliminary results from 9 Be . For 12 C for the first time measurable strength in the core-excited part of the spectrum between the ground state and the pΛ state was shown in [Formula: see text] for the first time. A high-quality 16Λ N spectrum was produced for the first time with sub-MeV Energy resolution. A very precise B Λ value for 16Λ N , calibrated against the elementary ( e , e ′ K +) reaction on hydrogen, has also been obtained. Final data on 9 Be will be available soon. The missing energy resolution is the best ever obtained in hypernuclear production experiments.

The complete high resolution emission spectrum of molecular hydrogen is obtained for the first time in the range 78–118 nm. A uniform set of data is derived from accurate line positions of the (unperturbed) Q branches of the C, D, D′, and [Formula: see text] transitions. Molecular constants fitted for both the ground state and the excited states of symmetry [Formula: see text] are obtained. For the latter case, they are compared with ab initio and multichannel quantum defect theory (MQDT) calculations. Self-absorption features indicate the production, in an appreciable amount, of H2(ν″ = 1) in the discharge. The reported data were not available to laser physicists and also astrophysicists who have observed strong emission lines of H2 from the atmospheres of Jupiter and Saturn.

High-resolution Fourier-transform infrared spectra have been recorded and analyzed for the ν4 ν5, and ν6 fundamental bands of trans-HONO, and for the ν4 fundamental of cis-HONO. The spectral resolution was better than 0.01 cm−1, and the rotational structure has been analyzed to give improved ground-state and excited-state rotational constants, with a standard deviation of the fit to the observed line positions of around 0.0006 cm−1. Two Coriolis interactions have been analyzed between the ν5 and ν6 bands of trans-HONO.

The visible emission spectrum of MgD has been reexamined at high resolution. Published analyses of the A2Π → X2Σ+ system have been extended and the data have been combined with observations in the B′2Σ+ → X2Σ+ system to provide information on the ground state levels ν = 3, 4, 5, and 6 for the first time. The following molecular constants (in cm−1) have been determined—for the A2Π state: ωc = 1154.75, ωcxc = 16.675, Bc = 3.2190, Dc = 9.64 × 10−5 and for the X2Σ+ state: ωc = 1077.71, ωcxc = 15.92, Bc = 3.0306, and Dc = 9.39 × 10−5. The dissociation energies in the A2Π and X2Σ+ states have been estimated to be ~ 15 500 cm−1 and ~ 11 500 cm−1 respectively. The MgH/MgD isotope effect and the Λ doubling in the A2Π state are discussed.

The energy levels of 117In have been investigated following the β decay of 3.4 h 117Cdm and 2.5 h 117Cdg. Using high resolution Ge(Li) detectors singly and in coincidence, 127γ transitions have been observed. Eighty-five of these transitions have been classified by both coincidence data and energy fit, 29 weak transitions by energy fit alone, and 12 remain unclassified. Thirty-seven levels in 117In have been established; of these, 24 are low spin states fed from the ground state and 13 are high spin states fed from the isomer. Spin and parity assignments for the newly established levels are discussed.

Abstract The pure rotational spectrum of trans-acrolein in the ground vibrational state has been assigned in the frequency region from 8 GHz to 180 GHz. The measured absorption lines encompass a-type transitions from the qRK, qQ1, qQ2 branches and 6-type transitions from the rP0, rP1, rP2, rR0 brandies for values of J up to 23. The rotational constants have been refined and all quartic and sextic centrifugal distortion constants have been determined using Watson's reduced Hamiltonian. This information has been used to predict line positions of astrophysical interest to warrant the interstellar line search for trans-acrolein.
