Stress is one of the psychological reactions that can be in a work situation. Work situations may change at any time in different forms. An employee's psychological reaction to change also varies. Job insecurity arising from changing work situations increases job stress. A company certainly does not want employees to experience work stress that can impact on the decline in company performance. The level of employeereligiosity is expected to reduce the impact of job insecurity. This study aims to determine the role of job insecurity against work stress moderated by religiosity. Job stress as dependent variable, job insecurity as independent variable, and religiosity as moderator. Methods of data retrieval were performed using work stress scale, job insecurity scale, and scale of religiosity. The subjects of this study were 119 employees working in the State Forestry Corporation. The hypothesis proposed in this study is religiosity as a moderator in the relationship between job insecurity with work stress. Moderate and hypothesis testis done by moderate regression analysis. The research result shows religiosity not proved as moderator in relationship between job insecurity with work stress, but directly significant impact to work.

<span><em>This study aims to explain the influence of the Social Security </em><span><em>program on performance and job satisfaction and job stress as a mediating </em><span><em>variable. In addition, this study also describes the effect of job satisfaction on </em><span><em>the performance and the effect of work stress on performance. The relationship of </em><span><em>each variable in this research is to be measured by conducting a survey on 145 </em><span><em>employees of private companies that included in Social Security program on </em><span><em>DIY and Solo. Then the path analisys used to test the effect of social security </em><span><em>program performance in mediation by job satisfaction, performance and job stress</em><span><em>, job satisfaction, and examines the effect on the performance and the effect of </em><span><em>work stress on performance. The results showed that the social security program </em><span><em>significant positively affects job satisfaction and performance. Job satisfaction was </em><span><em>also positively and significantly affect performance. Even though mediating role </em><span><em>of job satisfaction in the relationship between social security program performance </em><span><em>partial. Because merely direct relationship between social security program with </em><span><em>greater performance than the mediating role of job satisfaction. Social Security </em><span><em>program did not significantly affect the stress of work, as well as job stress did </em><span><em>not significantly affect performance. Therefore, the mediating role of work stress </em><span><em>on the relationship between social security program with the performance did not </em><span><em>occur. This study aims to analyse the impact of job demands and job resources on job stress among journalists in Jordan. In addition, the moderation effect of organisational support on such relationship is assessed in this research. A questionnaire survey was conducted among journalists working in daily newspapers in Jordan. This study used multiple and hierarchical regression analyses and determined a significant and positive relationship amongst emotional demands, job insecurity, and task significance on job stress. Additionally, organisational support moderated the relationship between task significance and job stress. Results of study revealed that the organisational support moderates the relationship between task significance and job stress. This finding could challenge journalists, newspaper managements and decision-makers in Jordan. When journalists work on sensitive topics and are in conflict areas, they are in need of additional support from newspaper managements to mitigate high job stress and motivate them to produce quality work.

PurposeThis paper draws upon the Yin and Yang concept of Chinese philosophy within a Western context to examine coopetition, namely, the interplay between cooperation and competition. Although coopetition activities should positively affect company performance, earlier research involving this relationship has typically been linear in nature and without moderating factors. Consequently, underpinned by resource-based theory and the relational view, the purpose of this investigation is to examine the non-linear (inverted U-shaped) link between coopetition and company performance under the moderating role of competitive intensity.Design/methodology/approachCollection of survey data involved a sample of 101 internationalising wine producers in New Zealand. Following a check of the statistical data for all major assessments of reliability and validity (together with common method variance), testing the research hypotheses and control paths took place through hierarchical regression. Furthermore, 20 semi-structured interviews helped explain the underlying mechanisms behind the quantitative results.FindingsCoopetition had a non-linear (inverted U-shaped) relationship with market performance. Surprisingly, competitive intensity yielded a negative moderation effect. The mixed methods results highlighted that firms must strike an effective balance between the paradoxical forces of cooperativeness and competitiveness across their product-market strategies.Originality/valueThis investigation contributes to the existing literature by developing and testing a conceptual framework examining the nature of the relationship between coopetition activities and market performance – using non-linear (inverted U-shaped) and moderating effects. It addresses a debate between two schools-of-thought concerning the impact of competitive intensity on the coopetition paradox. Additionally, this study helps to explain the coopetition construct through the Yin and Yang concept to highlight how the paradoxical forces of cooperativeness and competitiveness can create harmful outcomes for organisations if they do not manage them effectively (across domestic and international markets).

Purpose This study aims to investigate the impact of narcissistic leadership on employee voice behavior from the perspective of job stress, trust in leaders and traditionality in China. Design/methodology/approach The authors conducted a survey on 437 employees to assess their narcissistic leadership in Time 1. In Time 2, they measured their job stress, trust in leaders and traditionality. In Time 3, they assessed the voice behavior of these employees. Findings Narcissistic leadership correlates positively with employees’ job stress, which mediates between narcissistic leadership and employee voice behavior. Trust in leaders negatively moderates the correlation between job stress and employee voice behavior, as well as moderates the mediation effect of job stress on the correlation between narcissistic leadership and employee voice behavior. In addition, traditionality positively moderates the correlation between job stress and employee voice behavior, as well as moderates the mediation effect of job stress on the correlation between narcissistic leadership and employee voice behavior. Originality/value This study establishes the impact of narcissistic leadership on employee behavior from the perspective of job stress, trust in leaders and traditionality.

Purpose – Based on job embeddedness (JE) theory, the purpose of this paper is to explore the impact of goal orientation (GO) and JE on job stress for financial service salespersons in the indeterminate situation. Design/methodology/approach – Participants were 298 insurance salespersons employed at two major life insurance institutions in Taiwan: Nan Shan and Fubon – which were formerly the subsidiaries of two international financial groups, American International Group and International Netherland Group, respectively. The models were tested using the two-step structural equation procedure. Findings – Findings indicated that, compared with salespersons in the newly merged Fubon, those in Nan Shan, which was undergoing mergers and acquisitions, were found to be subject to higher job stress with lower JE. In the process of reducing stress, JE is an important mechanism. However, the modulating influence of embeddedness is dependent on salespersons’ GO. In situations of higher stress, learning-oriented salespersons (in Nan Shan) were unable to significantly reduce job stress until JE was introduced as a full mediator. However, in a lower stress context, performance-oriented salespersons (in Fubon) fully applied JE in order to relieve job stress. Research limitations/implications – Managers endeavor to help salespersons effectively improve stability and reduce job stress by exploiting salespersons’ dispositions. Originality/value – The contribution of this study includes identifying the role of JE on the relationship between GO and job stress for the contingency of an indeterminate state.

Job satisfaction can improve durability individuals to stress and impacts of stress and on the other hand, stress that perceived by an individual can be a source of discontent. This research aims to know the influence of work stress of job satisfaction of nurses in internist room of Krakatau Medika Hospital Cilegon. Research method the used is the descriptive method to 215 nurses who have experienced nurses' room of Krakatau Medika Hospital Cilegon. While to test the research hypothesis, the authorize a simple regresion analysis method with the help of software SPSS 20. The results showed job stress in nurses in the inpatient unit Krakatau Medika Hospital in the moderate category is 2.88 and the job satisfaction of nurses are in a high category. Work stress experienced by nurses at Krakatau Medika Hospital has a positive effect on job satisfaction, so the impact of positive stress is used as a motivational well as improved performance. The results of correlation calculations, the independent variables on satisfaction positive relationships with low classification, the amount of work stress on job satisfaction, which is 12.4% and the remaining 87.6% influenced by other factors not described in this study, other factors such as remuneration, staffing, work environment, leadership style, and so on.

The importance of work engagement (vigor, dedication, absorption) in enhancing employee performance is a recognized area of research. In this competitive and hyper turbulent work environment, disengaged workforce is costly for any organization. Despite its importance, a very low rate of work engagement (i.e.5%) has been found in Pakistan. Drawing on conservation of resource theory (COR), this paper proposes a conceptual framework to find out the impact of despotic leadership behavior on work engagement of employees with a mediating mechanism of employee’s perception of job insecurity. In previous literature little research has been done on despotic leadership and no study has found on this relationship before.

Organizational commitment is attitude from employees to remain members of an organization and work hard for goals and sustainability of organization. Purpose of this study is to determine effect of job stress on organizational commitment and job satisfaction, effect of job satisfaction on organizational commitment, and role of job satisfaction in mediating effect of work stress on organizational commitment. Study is conducted at The Grand Santhi Hospital with 50 samples, using saturated sampling. Data are analyzed using path analysis. Results showed that job stress has negative and significant effect on organizational commitment, job stress has negative and significant effect on job satisfaction, job satisfaction has positive and significant effect on organizational commitment, and job satisfaction able to mediate job stress on organizational commitment. Company needs to pay attention to workload and work capacity and evaluate the salary given to employees to match the workload so as to increase organizational commitment. The sources and effects of stress have been conceptualized from several theoretical and empirical perspectives. This study explores the sources and impacts of job stress in managerial levels in two different countries, namely developing and developed countries. Furthermore, how to deal with and manage job stress for managers are also described. This study reviews the level and source of work stress that researched in academic journals, books, proceedings, reports, and website. After reviewing the literature extensively, it is concluded that managers in each of the two groups of countries experience workplace stress with different work stress sources. Meanwhile, the impact of job stress at the managerial level in the two groups of countries is almost identical. Job stress affects job satisfaction, mental and physical health, high intention to quit the job, and high absenteeism rates. The strategy to ensure employee health and well-being is to provide a stress-free work environment by creating supportive organizational systems, stress auditing, counselling, education and training, and work balance initiatives. It is hoped that the results of this study can be made a role model in managing stress in the work environment, especially at the managerial level, based on the source and impact of work stress so that it can be used as a basis for designing strategies and policies to deal with stress in the workplace. Finally, this study provides guidelines for further research on this topic.

The frequent world changes raised by globalization, new technology development, and the increase in migration movements have generated an immensely diversified workforce. To face these challenges, managers started to seek the best strategies to effectively run this mixed environment and implement the leading diversity management policies for human resource management sustainability, which is also considered as very constructive in boosting employees’ performance, motivation, satisfaction, as well as their work engagement. Consistently, this paper examines the impact of service companies’ diversity management systems on employees’ engagement and the moderating role of organizational trust and job insecurity in that relationship. As we opted for a quantitative study, we managed a survey based on a questionnaire dedicated to 580 employees working in Hungarian companies, specializing in Marketing, Management consulting, IT, and logistics services, to effectively assess the hypothesis concluded from the literature review. With the use of structural equation modeling (SEM) as a data analysis tool, our findings reveal that diversity management has a positive significant effect on Employees’ engagement and that organizational trust and job insecurity truly and significantly mediate that association. Along with social exchange theory, our research contributes to affirming that by implementing proper diversity management practices and by ensuring a trustworthy environment and outstanding work conditions, managers are constructively able to assist their employees, raise their involvement, and minimize the level of job insecurities.
