The main objective of the project is to develop a GSM based energy meter reading system and load control through SMS. Electricity department sends employees to take meter reading every month, which is an expensive and time consuming job. The proposed project provides a convenient and efficient method to avoid this problem. The electricity department and the user can get the readings of the energy meter of consumers via SMS. The loads can also be controlled by the user of this system via SMS using this project. A microcontroller input is effectively interfaced to a digital energy meter that takes the reading from the energy meter and displays the same on an LCD. The reading of the energy meter is also sent to the control room by an SMS via SIM loaded GSM modem. This GSM modem can also receive commands from the cell phone to control the owner’s electrical loads. It uses a standard digital energy meter that delivers output pulses to the microcontroller to perform counting for necessary action. On receiving command it can switch ON/OFF the loads.

In this paper we are focusing on automatic billing and metering, The GSM Short Message Service (SMS) and Arduino connection gives the metre reading system several predefined automatic capabilities. The energy consumption and electricity bill and loads will be providing through GSM module to the customer and to the concern electricity department. An alert message will be send to the customer and vigilance squad when the consumption unit reading reaches beyond the specific threshold. And loads on and off through gsm This paper contains energy consumption details in terms of power units and power units will be displayed on the LCD and will be notified to the customer via SMS and customer will also be able to recharge with the help of GSM module as well as microcontroller.

This Home Automation System is based on the ESP8266 wifi module. With the help of this project the electrical loads can be controlled using your android cell phone. For this project we have to connect ESP8266 Wi-fi module and cell phone with the same WIFI network. This project can be used at homes, offices, colleges, universities, and so on. For the Worldwide control system, we can use the Nodemcu ESP8266 Wifi Module. This system is very convenient and economical to use. Major components used in it are: esp8266 wifi modulerelays. With this internet of things we can control four home appliances from the Blynk app, we can also use manual switches to control the appliances with or without internet and we can also monitor real-time feedback. So this is very useful to make our devices smart .In this project we have used four channel relay. In this project we have controlled AC appliances like Lights etc. In this project we used IFTTT with the help of ifttt we can connect all of our apps and devices.

Energy conservation and its efficient utilization especially in cloud data centers has been a subject of discourse amongst numerous stakeholders. Advancement in information technology tools provides a solution to automating the process of electricity metering as well as remote load control alternatives. This paper presents an energy meter reader implemented with a microcontroller based logic methodology fused with a building automation system to implement remote load control by home owners using SMS from a GSM phone. A password based relay circuit was incorporated to ensure secure switching by the user. The system when deployed can enable users query and set energy consumption rates remotely so as to reduce the cost on final consumers as well as conserve energy. This is could be a useful system in the green-based design of cloud data centers.

Now a day’s automation is in every field, although there are many places automation has been emerged and successfully implemented but still the service provider for energy still uses conventional methods for getting the energy consumed by individual customer. This method is very time consuming and un- economical and may lead to human error. Our proposed system (AMR) will automatically send the data of the digital energy meter to the service provider with the help the help of the GSM modem once in a day and hence the system will report the service provider once in a through SMS. The same system can be used to check the last reading consumed by the consumer, when demanded by user through the same GSM modem .The device can also be used to control the load from both the ends that is (user –service provider) with the help of relay circuit and system will also be provided with an LCD display which will update the consumers with different information’s regarding tariff change or sudden power cut .

Internet of thing (IoT) is a system that will change the order of human life and industrial operations. In the future, objects that are operated daily with human interaction will be equipped with internet connectivity which is equipped with various sensors so that they are able to communicate and act on the information obtained without human intervention. The problem is that the ecosystem has not been fully developed as well as from the world of education which will prepare its human resources. Apart from that, the industrial sector which is predicted to be the largest user is still considering various things such as cost, security, non-conformity with the existing system and the ability of its resources. The system created is an effort to develop knowledge in the IoT field as an effort to bridge the need for human resources, especially at the Vocational High School (SMK) level. This IoT application for electrical load control is designed and built using the main components of NodeMcu V3, 4 channel relay, and Android with the Blynk application installed. Electrical load control commands are given using the Blynk application via Android and delivered to the NodeMcu V3 module using a Wifi intermediary and from NodeMcu V3 forwarded to 4 channel relays to control electrical loads in the form of ON and OFF. The results of the test show that the system built can operate properly in controlling electrical loads

In recent time e-meter (electronic meter) place a major role for the power consumption &cost efficient system. In advanced future it has high reliable and productive programmed meter perusing framework (AMRS). This paper aims to plan a straightforward ease.IOTbased energy meter reading system which includes fault indication. Unit usage after (i.e. for 15 days once). Mode selection (automatic& manual) and SMS alert to user. Mode selection option is included. To avoid more power consumption automatic mode is used to cut-down the appliances for the user convenience. If there is a fault in the e-meter it sends a notification to the user. If there is any fault in E-meter the LED will glow. EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) used as flash memory to store a data. The proposed system neglects the regular digital meter reading system and allows remotely access the electronic meter. Legitimate validation, user can get to the created webpage points of interest from anyplace on the planet. The advantages of this project are to reduce cost and save more power and also reduce man power and time consumption. This project is implemented is hardware and software used are ARUDINO IDE (using embedded C language).
