One of main component for every language is verb. In Arabic, qāla (قال) is one of verbs which substantively is used in many oral and written language due to its wide meaning. This research focuses on meaning variation of qāla (قال) when it was translated into Indonesian. In this study, differential meaning can be caused by differential speaker and also differential context. Thereby, the research aims to classify and explain every single meaning of qāla (قال) verb. This descriptive qualitative research uses observation method with tapping technique. Meanwhile, the data was analyzed by translational method, referential method, and pragmatics method. The result of the research shows that; (1) There are three differential meanings of qāla (قال) according to speaker perspective, as well as ‘berfirman’, ‘bersabda’, and ‘berkata’. (2) There are some differential meanings of qāla (قال) according to linguistics perspective, such as ‘berkata, mengatakan, mengabarkan, mengumumkan, berbicara, mengucapkan, mengaku, pendapat, bertanya, menjawab, perintah, and berdoa.

The aims of this research were to find out the types and the function of address form in the Mortdecai movie. It was a descriptive qualitative research. To collect the data, documentation and observation method are used.The source of data was the Mortdecai movie in 2015 with the action/comedy genre, the data were the dialogue in the Mortdecai movie. To analyze the data, a sociolinguistics approach was used with the theory of Gumperz, for the address form Robinson theory was used. Researchers were also using Wardhaugh's theory for the types of address form and Chaika's theory for the function of address form. The result of the research, six types of address form were found and three functions of address form were found in the Mortdecai movie. For the types of address form those were, First Name (FN), Title plus Last Name (TLN), Title alone (T), Last Name (LN), Pet Name (PN) and Kinship Term (KT), and for the function were to show intimacy, power difference, and respect. Each use of the address form was different depending on a context, relationship, or position that a person had, while the function of the address form defined the intention of the person to addressed someone. The purpose of this study was to find impoliteness strategies used by netizens to Jokowi-Maaruf and netizens to Prabowo-Sandi based on gender in YouTube comments section based on Culpeper`s theory (1996). This research was descriptive qualitative research based on impoliteness strategies phenomena in written language. The data on this research were words, phrases, and sentences in online comments that contained impoliteness strategies found in Indonesian Presidential debate 2019 in YouTube comment. The instruments of this research were Wi-Fi, laptop, writing equipment, and indicators of impoliteness strategies. The results of analysis showed that from 200 comments collected, there were 267 impoliteness strategies found. The reason why number of strategies found bigger than the data collected is because the commentators mostly performed more than one strategy in one utterance. Four by five strategies found in this research were bald on record, positive impoliteness, negative impoliteness, and sarcasm or mock politeness. The strategies that were not found ware withhold politeness because it only occurred in spoken language. The most used strategies were positive impoliteness. The highest user of positive impoliteness was male netizens to female netizens to Prabowo-Sandi (47%).

Aims of this descriptive qualitative research are organizing cooperational models of guidance and counseling and analizing use of those professional cooperation activities between counselor and other professionals for students as targeting subject of guidance and counseling service. Author got the needed data from observation method, interview method, and documentation method, while subject of this research are guidance and counseling teachers and students. Guidance and counseling teachers have created some cooperational patterns with motivator, psychology institution, college, and alumna. By these cooperational programs, students acknowledged that they got many supports in understanding and developing their potentials, coping their obstacles, and programming their individual planning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan mengorganisasikan pola-pola kerjasama bimbingan dan konseling dan menelaah manfaat yang diperoleh siswa sebagai subjek sasaran layanan BK dari kegiatan kerjasama profesional antara konselor dengan pihak-pihak profesional lainnya. Data penulis peroleh dari observasi, wawwancara, dan dokumentasi, subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah Guru BK dan siswa. Penulis memperoleh hasil penelitian berupa pola kerjasama yang dijalin oleh tenaga BK ialah dengan: (1) motivator; (2) lembaga psikologi; (3) perguruan tinggi; dan (4) alumni. Dengan program kerjasama tersebut siswa mengakui banyak terbantu dalam memahami-mengembangkan potensinya, mengatasi hambatannya, dan melakukan perencanaan individual.

The aims of this study are to describe and explain the form of code switching and code mixing, to identify the factors of code switching and code mix and to identify the purpose and function of code switching and code mixing in the Acehnese students in Yogyakarta. This is descriptive qualitative research by sociolinguistic approach. The method used in this research is observation method and record technique. The data of this research are the speechs of Acehnese students who are studying in Yogyakarta which contains of code switching and code mixing. Data were identified and classified and then analyzed by existing sociolinguistic theory.The results show that: first, the form of code transfer in Acehnese student communication in Yogyakarta includes the switch of code from Acehnese Language to Indonesian and the switch of code from Indonesian to Aceh; second, the form of mixed code in the form of insertion of words, phrases, and clauses; third, the factors of code switching and code mixing are speakers, participants, third speakers, speech mode and discussion topics; fourth, the purpose and function of code switching and code mixing in the Acehnese students are to familiarize the situation, to make a sense of humor, to look prestigious, to respect the other person and to tell the secret.Key words        : Code Switching, Code Mixing, Sociolinguistic

This study aims to describe the pronunciation errors of vocabulary and the factors causing the pronunciation errors of vocabulary that are read by blind students at MAN 2 Klaten. The method used for this research is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection methods used by researchers to access the data required in the writing of this study are the observation method, the interview method, and the documentation method. From this research, it is known that some of the mistakes made by students include errors in ibdal, hadzf, and idhafah. The factors causing the mispronunciation of vocabulary that are read by blind students are 1) The difference between the two languages in the al-letter makhariju; 2) Students cannot see the teacher who gives examples of vocabulary pronunciation; 3) A hearing mechanism that differentiates sound pronunciation; 4) Blind students do not know the meaning of vocabulary.

Malay dialect has a specific final sound /ɑ/ as /ə/ but not all final sound /ɑ/ is pronounced as /ə/. The final sound /r/ is dropped down and the sound /u/ after the letter <r> is pronounced as /ɒ/ in some particular words. This phonemic system must be preserved and developed as a local knowledge. Modality change of consciousness happens to the Malay, and Indonesian becomes elitist and leaves the egalitarian Malay. This descriptive qualitative research concerned to the phonemic features and comprehensive picture of Malay contemporary sounds, and Malay vowels and consonants with the pertinent articulatory elements in Batam. Observation method with participatory technique involved in data collection taken from Kampong Tua Nongsa, Sanggau, Tanjung Uma, and Tanjung Riau. The theory to support the analysis was taken from Finegan and Low’s theories in term of phonological and phonetic approach and supported by Kelly, McMahon, Roach, and Yule’s theories. It is found that the letter <a> is pronounced as /ə/ in particular place. And <u> is pronounced as /ɒ/ in particular place. /Ɍ/ in Malay is different from /r/ in Indonesian and /ʁ/ in English as /Ɍ/ is produced by uvula. The final consonant-closed sound <k> and <l> are not sounded as they are represented by /Ɂ/. Letter <h> is not pronounced as /h/ in the final <h> consonant-closed syllable sound. /f/, /χ/, /ʃ/and /z/, all these fricative sounds do not appear in Malay. The Malay pronounced them as /p/ for /f/ in maaf, /k/ for /χ/ in ikhlas, /s/ for /ʃ/ in syukur, and /ʝ/ for /z/ in izin. Syllable sound ends with letter <b> or <d> is not pronounced with end /b/ or /d/ but it pronounces with end /p/ or /t/ such sebab as /sebʌp/, sabtu as /sʌptʊ/, wujud as /wʊʝʊt/, and sujud as /sʊʝʊt/.

Abstract Batting is a major component in the game of Cricket. Batting is collecting value by hitting the ball and holding the ball and running to swap places with other runners, and if the ball hits the stump then the batsman is declared out. This study discusses the analysis of batting techniques in the game of Cricket U-17 beginner athletes in DKI Jakarta. The subjects in this study were novice athletes from Jakarta U-17 athletes, who were junior high and high school students who had just joined the cricket team. The method in this research uses descriptive qualitative research. With a sample of 60 athletes who are members of the Jakarta U-17 beginner athletes. The results showed that, it showed that the category of batting training facilities and infrastructure for U-17 athletes in DKI Jakarta was 86.04% on average. These results illustrate that batting facilities and infrastructure are in very good category. Furthermore, in the category of results of the application of batting training for U-17 athletes in DKI Jakarta, it shows that the average is 74.94%. These results illustrate that the application of batting in the category is good and the results of batting for U-17 athletes in DKI Jakarta show that the average is 53.36%. These results illustrate that the batting in the category is sufficient. The results of field observations and analysis in the Batting Cricket exercise are explained as follows: 1) The results of the training that are not optimal are a form of not being properly absorbed by the Batting exercises performed by the coach. 2) The need to adjust the training program adopted from outside as well as the training model and media used in training, to suit the characteristics of the athlete. 3) Batting is the main component for all Cricket athletes. So every beginner athlete in DKI Jakarta U-17 Cricket must master the maximum technique of Batting Cricket.

The aim of this research is to describe the expressive speech acts of the YouTube user (netizen) and the politeness strategy used by the netizens in line to respond polling of Presidential-VP candidate in Indonesia. This descriptive qualitative research used library research in collecting the data. Some theories related to expressive speech acts and politeness strategy were used to analyze the data. The analysis was represented by using informal method. The result of analysis showed that the expressive speech act is the most frequently used by the YouTube users. The results indicated that the netizens used expressive speech acts to express anger, satirizing, sympathizing, blaming, thanking and fulminating. The research also revealed the importance of expressive speech act in keeping politeness in witten language. It was concluded that the netizens were creative in expressing their ideas through written language. Expressive speech acts and politeness strategy reflected the way the language users show their emotion by using words.

The purpose of this research was to find politeness strategies used by netizens in YouTube comments section based on Najwa Shihab’s YouTube Channel. This research was descriptive qualitative research based on politeness strategies phenomena in written language. Thirteenth strategies found in this research were expressing wish and gratitude, intensifying support and interest, softening request, being pessimistic, giving sympathy, using identity marker, being indirect, showing agreement, face-negative threatening acts, giving questions or asking reason, using impersonal forms, using joke, and giving praise. The data in this research used verbal impressions of netizens comments on Najwa Shihab YouTube Channel period April 2020. This research used the principle of courtesy Brown Levinson to classify and analyze the data according to its category. This research also was found that the obidience of positive face and threaten positive face are more dominant. These kinds of utterance are dominant in netizens comment is influenced by context.

Purpose:This study focuses on an online Arabic learning through synchronous and asynchronous approaches. Meanwhile, the aims of this study are; 1) describing implementation of synchronous and asynchronous online Arabic learning in higher education, 2) investigating its advantages and disadvantages, 3) offering solutions in learning Arabic through e-learning. Design/methodology/approach:This is a descriptive qualitative research that applies an observation method, interview, and documentation to collect the data. Afterwards, identity method is used to investigate the data. Then, triangulation is applied for validity check Findings/result:The result shows that synchronous e-learning is the most widely applied in learning Arabic for IPIREL UMY (75 %) and IPIEF UMY (62%). On the contrary, Arabic learning (IBA) at UINSA tends to apply asynchronous e-learning (75%). Originality/value:It is important for lecturer to prepare the best method and media for distance learning. By understanding what students need, lecturer may determine how important for students to learn Arabic through synchronous or asynchronous approach. Paper type:Research paper
