The aims of this study are to describe and explain the form of code switching and code mixing, to identify the factors of code switching and code mix and to identify the purpose and function of code switching and code mixing in the Acehnese students in Yogyakarta. This is descriptive qualitative research by sociolinguistic approach. The method used in this research is observation method and record technique. The data of this research are the speechs of Acehnese students who are studying in Yogyakarta which contains of code switching and code mixing. Data were identified and classified and then analyzed by existing sociolinguistic theory.The results show that: first, the form of code transfer in Acehnese student communication in Yogyakarta includes the switch of code from Acehnese Language to Indonesian and the switch of code from Indonesian to Aceh; second, the form of mixed code in the form of insertion of words, phrases, and clauses; third, the factors of code switching and code mixing are speakers, participants, third speakers, speech mode and discussion topics; fourth, the purpose and function of code switching and code mixing in the Acehnese students are to familiarize the situation, to make a sense of humor, to look prestigious, to respect the other person and to tell the secret.Key words        : Code Switching, Code Mixing, Sociolinguistic

This study focuses on the form and function of code-switching and code-mixing used in the Fashion  Program "I LOOK " on NET TV. This study is aimed to answer the following problem: 1.What is the forms of code-switching and code-mixing used in the Fashion  Program "I LOOK" on NET TV, and What are the functions of code-switching and code-mixing in Fashion Program "I LOOK" on NET TV. To answer the problem, the writer used descriptive qualitative research through theoretical triangulation the total data 72 unit of analysis of code-switching found that  22 data used tag switching, 18 data used inter-sentential switching, and  32 used intra-sentential switching. It showed that intra-sentential switching is commonly used by  Kimmy  Jayanti in the fashion program "I LOOK" on NET TV. Furthermore, 127 unit data analysis of code-mixing performed 74 insertions of words, 48 insertions of phrases, 2 insertions of hybrids, and 3 insertions of reduplications. Meanwhile, there is 250 function of code-switching and code-mixing used by Kimmy  Jayanti in the fashin program "I LOOK" in  NET TV. They are quotation  1, addressee specification  24, repetition  1, interjection 31, message qualification 12, personalization and objectivization  15, and facility of expression  121.

The study was conducted in order to describe the forms and the functions of code-switching and code-mixing in drama performance of ALE of the students of ICP batch 2017. The study was descriptive qualitative research. The data are collected by observation and documentation in the drama performance in Art and Language Exhibition ‘Prahara Ing Argabelah’. The finding shows that 24 unit analysis of code-switching found 6 used tag-switching, 15 used inter-sentential switching, and 3 used intra-sentential switching. Furthermore, 27 unit analysis of code-mixing performed 21 intra-sentential code mixing, 5 intra-lexical code mixing, and 1 involving a change of pronunciation. Then, from 24 unit analysis of code-switching, the researcher found six functions in the drama conversation. There are 6 addressee specifications, 2 repetitions, 7 interjections, 1 message qualification, 2 personalization and objectivizations, and 6 facilities of expression. Moreover, the researcher just found 3 functions from 27 unit analysis of code-mixing. There are 1 repetition, 2 message qualifications, and 24 facilities of expression.

Code mixing can occur anywhere. Mixed code is a mixture of two or more languages. Code mixing occurs when a speaker using a language dominantly supports a speech inserted with other language elements. This paper is conducted to get data about code mixing, especially in delivered by the presenter in the Hijab Traveling in Trans7 television program. The research used descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected from utterances delivered by the presenter in the Hijab Traveling in Trans7 television program. Process of analyzing the types of mixed code the writer used Suwito's theory. The results are 15 data found which the writer has classified into linguistic elements include the insertion of words, phrases, clauses, repetition of words, and idiom. Proses of analyzing the causes of mixed code the writer used the theory of Basir. The results are found 9 data. The result indicated that presenters on the Hijab Traveling in Trans7 television program often intervene in code. Based on all the analysis of data the writer can conclude that the sentences uttered by the presenter of Hijab Traveling in Trans7 television program prove that presenter often use mixed codes because the presenter can speak more than one language and the presenter has extensive knowledge.

Code switching and code mixing have become a trend in teenagers’ communication today. Not only in communicating, code switching and code mixing also influence the author’s style in writing novels. However, recently, it is not easy to define which is code switching or code mixing because the occurrence of the codes is very tight recently. The characters in the novel often do codes at least Indonesian-English. The objectives of this study are to find out the form of codes and the sociolinguistic features of the characters in Refrain novel. This research uses descriptive qualitative design from collecting the data until analyzing them. The result of the analysis yields some forms of codes spoken by the characters in the novel. The forms are sentence, clause, phrases like noun phrase & verb phrase, and words like noun, verb, adjective, & adverb. The other problem indicating their social background reflects the sociolinguistic features of the characters. They are education, family, friendship, and occupation.

The objectives of the research were to describe the types of speech acts used in televised political debates of governor candidates of North Sumatera, to derive the dominant type of speech acts used in televised political debates of governor candidates of North Sumatera and to elaborate the way of five governor candidates of North Sumatera use speech acts in televised political debates. This research was conducted by applying descriptive qualitative research. The findings show that there were only four types of speech acts used in televised political debates, Debat Pemilukada Sumatera Utara and Uji Publik Cagub dan Cawagub Sumatera Utara, they were assertives, directives, commissives and expressives. The dominant type of speech acts used in both televised political debates was assertives, with 82 utterances or 51.6% in Debat Pemilukada Sumatera Utara and 36 utterances or 41.37% in Uji Publik Cagub dan Cawagub Sumatera Utara. The way of governor candidates of North Sumatera used speech acts in televised political debates is in direct speech acts, they spoke straight to the point and clearly in order to make the other candidates and audiences understand their utterances.   Keywords: Governor Candidate; Political Debate; Speech Acts

The aims of this research were to find out the types and the function of address form in the Mortdecai movie. It was a descriptive qualitative research. To collect the data, documentation and observation method are used.The source of data was the Mortdecai movie in 2015 with the action/comedy genre, the data were the dialogue in the Mortdecai movie. To analyze the data, a sociolinguistics approach was used with the theory of Gumperz, for the address form Robinson theory was used. Researchers were also using Wardhaugh's theory for the types of address form and Chaika's theory for the function of address form. The result of the research, six types of address form were found and three functions of address form were found in the Mortdecai movie. For the types of address form those were, First Name (FN), Title plus Last Name (TLN), Title alone (T), Last Name (LN), Pet Name (PN) and Kinship Term (KT), and for the function were to show intimacy, power difference, and respect. Each use of the address form was different depending on a context, relationship, or position that a person had, while the function of the address form defined the intention of the person to addressed someone. This descriptive qualitative research essentially aimed to find out the types of code mixing on Brown Sugar Battle video. Titan Tyra published the video on June 17th, 2019. The researchers chose the utterances of Titan Tyra that contained code mixing as the data source of this research. In collecting the data, the researchers conducted observational method and non-participatory technique. Additionally, in analyzing the data, the researchers applied bilingual-differentiating identification method and differentiating comparative link technique. Furthermore, the researcher applied the theory of code mixing proposed by Muysken (2000). The result revealed that the speaker frequently inserted English words and phrases in the utterance of Indonesian language. The speaker mixed language to do the review of brown sugar drink. From 53 data, there were 31 data of insertion and 22 data of congruent lexicalization. The type of insertion became the most frequently uttered type. Also, the speaker did not utter English clause in utterances.
