The influence of language attitude on the academic achievement of young children in the monolingual context has not been explored. Thus, this research ascertained the degree of relationship between attitudes toward the mother tongue and the academic performance of the learners. It entailed correlation research design. The respondents were 20 Grade II pupils in a rural public school considered as monolingual in the southern Philippines. The data gathered were treated using frequency distribution, weighted mean, percentage rate, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. It was found out that there is a significant relationship between attitudes toward the mother tongue and the academic performance of learners. Amid the vast body of diverse researches in the area of language education, the present study weaves pieces of evidence that attitudes of learners toward mother tongue are associated with their academic performance in the context of a monolingual environment. It is suggested that such a conclusion should be further tested in other contexts.

Teaching is considered a multifarious task. Teachers, in the pursuit of educational success, are burdened with numerous teaching workloads and dilemmas causing them stress. This study endeavored to determine the influence of stress on professional satisfaction of multigrade teachers. It employed correlation research design involving thirty (30) purposively selected multigrade teachers in the Schools Division of General Santos City (GSC), Southern Philippines. Employing the survey method, tailored questionnaires were utilized to gather the needed data. The statistical tools employed in the analysis were weighted mean and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. Moderate level of stress and high level of professional satisfaction are gained among the multigrade teachers surveyed. It was further found out that there is no significant relationship between stress and professional satisfaction, providing evidence that stress may not necessarily influence satisfaction. This result offers unique implications in theory, practice, and research which are discussed in the study.

This study sought information on teachers’ perception of the usefulness of ICT on their effectiveness. The population comprised of the teachers in Colleges of Education teachers in Osun State. A random sample of one hundred (100) teachers was selected from these teachers. The data collected were analysed using frequency counts, percentages, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and t-test statistics. The findings were that there was no significant relationship between ICT resources and teachers’ effectiveness; there was a positive relationship between teachers’ attitudes towards the usage of ICT and their usage of ICT; and that there is a difference in usage of ICT in teaching by gender. It is argued that for teachers to appreciate usage of ICTs in teaching, they need to see that ICT tools are imperative for teaching.

The statistical population in this study is 80 women interested in education and 66 people were selected as a sample using Morgan table. In fact, the whole statistical population was determined as a sample. The research tools are two questionnaires: media literacy and academic performance. Hassan Khani Media Literacy Questionnaire (2018) with 90% reliability and Pham and Taylor (1999) Academic Performance Questionnaire with 84% reliability were used. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between academic performance and aesthetic components of media literacy. Keywords: media literacy, academic performance, aesthetics

There are 187 public secondary schools in Kwara State, Nigeria out of which 100 were randomly selected. “Secondary Education Cost and Internal Efficiency Checklist" (SECIEC) was used to collect data. Five research questions and one hypothesis were raised and analysed using percentage and- Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient at 0.05 alpha level. The study revealed that budgetary allocations as the main source of funds to secondary schools which dropped annually from 29.2 % of total cost in 2005 to 7.7% in 2009. A significant relationship existed between public cost and internal efficiency in the schools (r=0.623; p < 0.05, df= 98). It was recommended that government should mobilize special funds to expand and renovate the available school facilities.

Teaching is a multifaceted task. Teachers are inevitably exposed to superfluous teaching workloads and predicaments causing them stress. This research aimed to determine the relationship between workload stress and results based performance of multigrade teachers. It employed correlation research design involving thirty (30) purposively selected multigrade teachers in the Schools Division of General Santos City (GSC) during the school year 2015-2016. Following the survey method, a tailored questionnaire was used to gather the needed information. Secondary data were also collected. The statistical tools employed in the analysis were frequency distribution, percentage rate, weighted mean and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results revealed that the multigrade teachers experience moderate level of workload stress and high level of results based performance. It was further found out that there is no significant relationship between workload stress and results based performance, providing evidence that stress may not necessarily influence performance. This result offers unique implications in theory, practice, and research which are discussed in the study.

This research was conducted to study the relationships between academic performance, learning motivation, institutionalised environments and guardian involvement of children reared in a Malaysian orphanage. This study involves 50 students consisting of 21 female and 29 male students. These students are in secondary school with ages ranging from 13-17 years old. This study was conducted in a home for orphans and under-privileged children and all the participants of this study are from this home. The findings of this study show that there is a significant relationship between academic performance, intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation and therefore learning motivation as a whole (P<0.05). Findings also show that there is strong correlation between guardian involvement and academic performance (P<0.05). However for relationships between guardian involvement and learning motivation, institutionalised environment and academic performance and institutionalised environment and guardian involvement, correlations fail to exist (P>0.05).

This study was conducted in order to investigate the possible relationship between adherence to Islamic principles of success and academic performance of university students. Accordingly, a questionnaire based on Islamized principles of success (referred to as “Islamic character quotient inventory (ICQi)”) was correlated with CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Averages) of 343 students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. The empirical testing indicates that the total score on ICQi correlated positively and significantly with the academic performance of the respondent. Students with either high or medium adherence to ICQi have a significantly higher CGPA than their counterparts with the low-adherence level. However, the result did not show a significant relationship between the CGPA of highly adherent individuals and that of those with medium adherence level. The findings of this research may suggest that Islamic principles are not confined to the spiritual aspect of human’s life, but also relevant and useful for our mundane affairs.

Three Universities in the South-South region and 250 publishers sampled from six states of the federation were used for the study. The instruments used were validated questionnaire and standardized checklist of the book. One null hypothesis was formulated and tested. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentages and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMC). The finding of the study shows that there is a significant relationship between ISBD and the quality of books published in Nigeria with regard to authorship, title, place of publication, year of publication, publisher’s name, ISBN, copyright, bibliography and index. The study concluded that ISBD adds quality to published books.

The main purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between Big Five Personality traits and academic performance among foundation student based on their CGPA. There were 137-foundation students from private universities in Malaysia participants in this study. With 92 female and 45 males involved. Pearson correlation analysis was performing in this study. The result of this study showed that personality has a significant relationship between personality and academic performance. In details, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Openness were positively significant related to CGPA, while Extraversion and Neuroticism were negatively related to the CGPA. This result supports the other findings. With this finding, the academician will have more understanding on their students. There are a number of factors that influence students’ academic achievement and one of its personality factors. Besides that, this result also can give useful information to the lecturer in order to understand student’s personality and to match their teaching styles with the student’s personality to improve the student’s performance.
