This study aims to examine and analyze about problem based learning approach to improve understanding ability in senior high school . The population in this research is XI IPA grade senior high school in Karawang. This study was designed qualitative descriptive method. Based on the results and discussion students understanding ability had improved. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that students' mathematical understanding on the subject matter "circle" of students in grade XI IPA 3 SMAN 6 Karawang can be improved by using problem-based learning approach. It is known from the number of students who experience improvement in each cycle. In cycle I shows that the result of learning mathematics on the matter of classical equation of the circle score obtained by students from the questions given in the first cycle test, obtained 30 students reached 66.67% of 45 students who are able to get the value of 76 and above while in cycle II shows that the results of mathematics learning on the material of tangent tangent similarity has reached 91.12% or as many as 41 students.

This study aims to examine and analyze about problem-based learning approach to improve connection ability in SMP. The population in this research is VII SMP in Karawang. This study was designed qualitative descriptive method. Based on the results and discussion students connection ability had improved. It is known from the number of students who experience improvement in each cycle. In the first cycle shows that the results of mathematics learning on triangle and quadriplegic classically obtained scores of students from the questions given in the first cycle test, obtained 18 students reached 60% of 30 students who are able to obtain value above the KKM while in cycle II shows that the results of mathematics learning on triangle and quadrilateral material has reached 83.34% or as many as 25 students from 30 junior high school students who get grade VII above the KKM with an average value of 83. This shows an increase of 23.34% as many as 7 people students from the first cycle test. Means only 9% or as many as 5 students still score below the KKM.

Abstract: This study aims to determine the ability of students in solving non-routine problems in learning mathematics in high school. The focus of the study is the ability of students in solving non-routine problems that include the value of objectism, value of control, value of mystery, value of progress, value of rationalism, and value of openness. The subject of this study was determined purposively, that was based on the diversity of answers. The selected subject was six students of class X SMA in Palembang. The data were collected using observation, test, and interview which were then analyzed descriptively. The results show that in general the ability of students in solving non-routine problems is dominated by the value of objectism, control, rationalism, and progress. The other two values which did not dominantly appear were mystery and openness. Keywords: mathematical value, non-routine problemNILAI MATEMATIKA (MATHEMATICAL VALUE) SISWA PADA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA MENGGUNAKAN SOAL NON RUTIN Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal non rutin pada pembelajaran matematika di SMA. Fokus penelitian adalah kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal non rutin yang meliputi nilai objektisme, nilai kontrol, nilai misteri, nilai kemajuan, nilai rasionalisme, dan nilai keterbukaan. Adapun subjek penelitian ini dipilih secara purposive, berdasarkan keberagaman jawaban. Subjek yang terpilih adalah enam orang siswa kelas X SMA di Palembang. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan observasi, tes, dan juga wawancara, yang kemudian di analisis secara deskriptif.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal non rutin masih didominasi pada nilai objektisme, nilai kontrol, nilai rasionalisme, dan nilai kemajuan. Dua nilai lain yang tidak dominan muncul adalah nilai misteri dan nilai keterbukaan.Kata Kunci: nilai matematika, soal non rutin

The lack of the students ' interest and attention toward the local wisdom values of the local culture is this research background. The phenomena are due to the absence of interactive media to strengthen character education based on local wisdom in school. The purpose of this research is to create an interactive media based on local wisdom values with the implementation of the iconic card to strengthen the local wisdom values of Malay culture which is useful to build students’ character education. The research used a qualitative descriptive method with social anthropolinguistics approach. The subject of this research was students of Nurul Hasanah Senior High School, Medan. The data were collected through field observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that the iconic card might be used as a media to teach Malay wisdom values with the use of the Pak Belalang icon and Malay pantun. Pantun in this research has local wisdom values of Malay culture such as moral, ethical and norm values. Therefore, it can be concluded that the iconic card can be used as media in strengthening the local wisdom values of Malay culture that useful for students' character education.

This study is aimed to answer the question in this research such as: (1) wha problems are faced by the teachers in learning mathematics at Senior High school of Morotai? (2) what kinds of effort by the teachers in learning process? (3) what is the solution for the problems in learning process ? data collecting   technique   in   this   research   is   anklet,   questioners,   interview,   observation,   and documentation. The subject of this research is the of Mathematics subject at Senior High school Morotai Island which is consisted of 8 teachers. There are several angket which is possible to have as problem in learning process include of teachers, learning process, facility and learning evaluation. Generally, the result of this resereach shows that all the factors who have the potential to influence unsuccessable in learning mathematics subject. Otherwise, the dominant part here is the students who have a very low motivation and interest to learn mathematics subject. In overcoming   that problem, all the teachers in Morotai Island do not yet carry out an real action to solve the problem as well wich is only SMAll meeting that carry out in learning process. Based on the result of the research above, it can be concluded that learning problem is a complex problem which must be paid attention. That is why, even the SMAll barrier can also influence the learning success as well. The objective of this investigation was to investigate students errors in writing recount text made by the eleventh grade students of social program Senior High School Number 1 and Senior High School Number 2 Muara Beliti in academic year 2016/2017. The method applied in this investigation was descriptive method. The subject of the investigation was all the eleventh grade students of social program Senior High School Number 1 and Senior High School Number 2 Muara Beliti. The number of the sample was 30 that consist of five students each class and each school. To get the data, the writer used essay test. The test given was an intruction to compose a paragraph in 150 words. Based on the finding of data analysis from the test. The majority errors done by the Eleventh Grade of Social Program Students of Senior High School Number 1Muara Beliti was Verb (55.36 percent) total errors was 62. Punctuation and spelling (4.46 percent) total errors was 5. Preposition (5,35 percent) total errors 6. Pronoun (34.83 percent) total errors was39.The majority errors donethe Eleventh of social program  Grade Students of Senior High School Number 2 Muara Beliti wasVerb (61.67 percent) total errors was 37. Punctuation and spelling (1.66 percent) total errors was 1. Preposition (1.66 percent) total errors was1. Pronoun (35.01 percent) total errors was21. In conclusion, The students did such errors because the students translated directly from Indonesian language into English. Therefore, they forgot to use the correct  pattern of a sentence that consist subject, verb, and object. Keywords: Writing, Errors, Tenses Analysis, Recount Text.

This study aims to increase students' interest in learning mathematics. Based on the results of the pre-study, it was found that students were less interested in mathematics learning. This is caused by several factors including (1) mathematics learning so far generally lacks opportunities for students to develop strategic thinking skills, teachers only emphasize students to memorize all formulas or concepts without understanding their meanings, (2) learning is centered to the teacher (the use of lecture methods in mathematics learning) so that students are only used as learning objects, (3) in learning teachers rarely deliver material in real forms but only in abstract form. Therefore the learning series is designed using the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) learning approach to answer the phenomena that occur in pre-research. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. Subjects in this study were students of grade VII-A SMP Negeri 1 Pulau Morotai, North Maluku Province which numbered 25 people. The instruments used in this study were tests and interviews of teachers and students. The results showed that after the PMRI learning model was applied students felt interested and could improve mathematical knowledge and could also increase students' activeness in delivering ideas. For example, students dare to interact and negotiate between students and students and between students and teachers during the learning process. In addition, the PMRI learning approach can also reduce the level of abstractness of students in solving mathematical problems. This kind of thing does not happen to the learning by the mathematics teacher before. As a suggestion for teachers, in mathematics learning teachers should be able to connect the real world with mathematics learning because that can facilitate students to solve mathematical problems, and can increase students' interest in learning mathematics

This study aims to improve student mathematics learning outcomes and describe the steps of the Problem Based Learning) model assisted by media puzzles. The subject of this study was in grade IV SD N Kecandran 01 Salatiga as many as 34 students. The method used is Class Action Research in two cycles. In this study, the data collection is used, namely documentation, observation, and written tests. The data analysis technique used is quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes seen in the pre-cycle of 34 students there were 15 students or 41% who completed with an average value of 61. Then the results of the first cycle increased to 24 students or 70% with an average value of 68, then in cycle II it increased again to 30 students or 89% with an average value of 80.

This study aims to analyze the online mathematics learning interest of students in grade 3.2 at SDN Suryakencana CBM. This type of research uses a basic theory study approach with a qualitative descriptive method, because in examining problems regarding the interest in learning mathematics online. In practice, it uses interview guidelines and documentation of student interviews to find out the extent of interest in online-based mathematics learning. The research subjects used Quota Sampling, because the subjects studied were groups that had been determined according to the quota in class 3.2 SDN Suryakencana CBM. The results obtained from this study were to determine how students' interest in learning mathematics based online, in practice the teacher applied various methods and strategies in the form of making videos with concrete objects in order to make it easier for students when the learning process took place at home online. However, there are some students who do not understand when the online-based learning process takes place, which is sent by the teacher via the WhatsApp application, because the learning is ineffective and the lack of support from the students 'parents has reduced students' interest in learning mathematics in grade 3.2 SDN Suryakencana CBM.
