This study aims to examine and analyze about problem based learning approach to improve understanding ability in senior high school . The population in this research is XI IPA grade senior high school in Karawang. This study was designed qualitative descriptive method. Based on the results and discussion students understanding ability had improved. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that students' mathematical understanding on the subject matter "circle" of students in grade XI IPA 3 SMAN 6 Karawang can be improved by using problem-based learning approach. It is known from the number of students who experience improvement in each cycle. In cycle I shows that the result of learning mathematics on the matter of classical equation of the circle score obtained by students from the questions given in the first cycle test, obtained 30 students reached 66.67% of 45 students who are able to get the value of 76 and above while in cycle II shows that the results of mathematics learning on the material of tangent tangent similarity has reached 91.12% or as many as 41 students.

<p class="AbstractEnglish"><strong>Abstract: </strong>Understanding concepts on the momentum material owned by students is vary. Some students have understood the concept in accordance with scientific truth, but some are not yet. Constraints experienced by students in understanding the concept can lead to misconception. This study aims to analyze the level of understanding of student concepts on the momentum material by using qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this research are 33 students of Physics Education of Sebelas Maret University who have not received Basic Physics course. Data were collected by tests and interviews. The results showed that 77.27% of students experienced misconceptions on the transfer of energy of mutually colliding objects. Momentum and impulse materials have been taught in the XI Senior High School, though most students have not understood the concept as a whole.</p><p class="KeywordsEngish"> </p><p class="AbstrakIndonesia"><strong>Abstrak: </strong>Pemahaman konsep pada materi momentum yang dimiliki mahasiswa berbeda-beda. Sebagian mahasiswa sudah memahami konsep sesuai dengan kebenaran ilmiah, namun ada juga yang belum. Kendala yang dialami mahasiswa dalam pemahaman konsep tersebut dapat menimbulkan terjadinya miskonsepsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pemahaman konsep mahasiswa pada materi momentum dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan adalah 33 mahasiswa Semester 1 Pendidikan Fisika Universitas Sebelas Maret yang belum menerima mata kuliah Fisika Dasar. Data dikumpulkan dengan tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 77,27% mahasiswa mengalami miskonsepsi pada transfer energi benda yang saling bertumbukan. Materi momentum dan impuls sudah diajarkan di kelas XI SMA, meskipun demikian sebagian besar mahasiswa belum memahami konsep secara keseluruhan.</p>

This research was aimed at finding out how the condition of students interest in writing procedural text by using Cooking academy game at Telkom Senior high School. As a student learning by ICT (Information and Communication Technology) becomes a fundamental requirement in determining quality and effectiveness of learning process. This research was conducted at eleven grade students at Telkom senior high school with 34 students as a sample. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The data instruments were questionnaire  and interview. The result showed that most of the students had difficulties in writing procedural text, they and needed a media for helping them in learning process. Based on the interview of the students Telkom senior high school interested in Cooking Academy game in writing procedural text, after doing Cooking Academy game their vocabulary became more varied and easier poured into a text and writing process became more interesting and enjoyable, they could used it anytime and anywhere. Keywords: Analysis, Writing, Cooking Academy

The aim of the study was to know the islamic boarding school students management in modern Islamic senior high school Al-Ikhlas Lubuklinggau. The method used was qualitative descriptive method. The results presented committees formation, brochures distribution, new students selection, students guidance, and students administration. The whole elements were organized well based on the function. In conclusion, students management include students input management, supervising, obeying the rules, the teaching methods (tilawah, tazkiyah and ta`limah). <p class="JUDULSUB">Islam as a religion with a slogan that brings grace to the universe, however historically not all religious articulations are compatible. One example is extreme attitudes in religion. The most important element in realizing the peace mission in schools is learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study was conducted to reveal how to maintain religious moderation in schools in preventing extremism. This field study at SMA Negeri 1 (Senior High School) Krembung, East Java, Indonesia uses a qualitative descriptive method. The results showed that school moderation uses three main principles, namely <em>tawassuth, ta'adul and tawazun.</em> These principles are able to create a moderate situation, create a school of peace, progress, and form a generation with moderate views.</p><p class="JUDULSUB"> </p><p class="JUDULSUB"><em><strong>Abstrak</strong> </em></p><p class="JUDULSUB"><em>Islam sebagai agama dengan semboyan pembawa rahmat bagi alam semesta, namun secara historis tidak semua artikulasi agama itu cocok. Salah satu contohnya adalah sikap ekstrim dalam beragama. Elemen terpenting dalam mewujudkan misi perdamaian tersebut di sekolah adalah pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI). Studi ini dilakukan untuk mengungkap bagaimana mempertahankan moderasi beragama di sekolah dalam mencegah ekstrimisme. Studi lapangan di SMA Negeri 1 Krembung, Jawa Timur, Indonesia ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa moderasi beragama sekolah menggunakan tiga prinsip utama yaitu tawassuth, ta’adul dan tawazun. Prinsip-prinsip ini mampu menciptakan situasi yang moderat dan  mewujudkan sekolah damai, berkemajuan dan membentuk generasi yang berpandangan moderat.</em></p><p class="KEYWORD"><em></em><br /><strong></strong></p>

The research aims to find out the student's strategies in translating idioms. The method used in this study qualitative descriptive, this study was conducted at SMA SwastaPencawan Medan with the samples were 23 students of XI-MIA-2. The researcher used an essay test with 25 questions to translate idioms sentences. The result collection collected data from the students convert sentence researchers provided the database on the results of students' strategies in translating idioms on an essay test. Using a phrase of similar meaning in form result show there were 61 (34,27%), using a language of same meaning but dissimilar form in form show there were 19 (10,67%), translating by paraphrase in form result show there were 70 (39,33%) and translation by omission in form show there were 28 (15,73%). The result showed that many students translate idioms sentences with translation by paraphrase. The dominant strategies students are predominantly translation by paraphrase, and most students cannot turn the idiom in to the sentence that has been given. Senior High School Muhammdiyah 10 Surabaya is a school that dares to make a different curriculum from Diknas. It was rejected because it did not fit the existing curriculum. In its first year, the school receives two classes of students. This achievement soared in the second year. Second year there are five classes. The curriculum used at Senior High School Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya is called "Talent Executive School." This study aims to find out the development of outstanding school culture at Senior High School Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya, also describe the form of outstanding school culture, the process of planting values and ethos of achievement to students and knowing the implications of the development of outstanding school culture at Senior High School Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya. Although the facilities and infrastructure at Senior High School Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya have limitations but they are able to continue to develop the potential and ethos of interpreting in the academic and non-academic fields. So it becomes an attraction for researchers to conduct a researcher in the school with a different school style than usual. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection using observation techniques, interviews and documentation. The planting of values and ethos of achievement in students is carried out through school orientation activities, learning process, learning evaluation, extracurricular, achievement awards, love for alma mater, teacher conscientiousness, cooperation with parents of students and planting an outstanding culture. The results showed that the school culture developed at Senior High School Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya is through educational programs and potential interests including archery, futsal, athletics, pencak silat, archery, music, hockey, dance and others.

AbstractReasoning skill is essential for students to have to face the challenges of the 21st century. This study aims to determine the percentage of students' reasoning skills based on deductive hypothesis, inductive hypothesis, and reflective abstraction. This research used a descriptive method involving 26 students of Islamic Senior High School 4 Bantul. The data from tests were analyzed quantitatively, while the data from interviews were analyzed qualitatively as supporting data. The results showed that the indicators of deductive hypothesis: Aspects of explaining a fact, there are 62% of students explained the facts correctly but were incomplete and 38% of students explained the facts incorrectly; Aspects of making conclusions deductively, there are 77% of students made correct conclusions but were incomplete and 23% of students made incorrect conclusions. Based on inductive hypothesis indicators: Aspects of making conclusions inductively, all students can make conclusions, but incorrect in associating equations; Aspects of giving reasons, all students gave incorrect reasons. Based on indicators of reflective abstraction: Aspects of developing concepts, there are 50% of students who can connect concepts in a case correctly and 50% of students incorrectly connect concepts in a case. This showed that students' reasoning skill is still low. AbstrakKemampuan penalaran penting dimiliki oleh siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase kemampuan penalaran siswa berdasarkan hipotesis deduktif, hipotesis induktif dan abstraksi reflektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif yang melibatkan 26 siswa MAN 4 Bantul. Data dari tes dianalisis secara kuantitatif, sedangkan data dari wawancara dianalisis secara kualitatif sebagai data pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada indikator hipotesis deduktif: Aspek menjelaskan fakta, terdapat 62% siswa yang menjelaskan fakta secara tepat namun kurang lengkap dan 38% siswa kurang tepat dalam menjelaskan fakta; Aspek membuat kesimpulan secara deduktif, terdapat 77% siswa membuat kesimpulan dengan tepat namun kurang lengkap dan 23% siswa membuat kesimpulan yang kurang tepat. Berdasarkan indikator hipotesis induktif: Aspek membuat kesimpulan secara induktif, semua siswa dapat membuat kesimpulan, namun tidak tepat dalam mengaitkan persamaan; Aspek memberi alasan, semua siswa memberikan alasan yang kurang tepat. Berdasarkan indikator abstraksi reflektif: Aspek pengembangan konsep, sebanyak 50% siswa mampu menghubungkan konsep dalam suatu kasus secara tepat dan 50% siswa kurang tepat dalam menghubungkan konsep pada suatu kasus. Hal ini menunjukkan kemampuan penalaran siswa masih rendah.

This research in general is aimed to develop student worksheet base on contextual approach on the coordination system for senior high school in grade 11 using metode of 4-D development. The subjects of this research is one of lecturer majoring in biology at Padang State University, two teachers of SMAN 3 Padang, and 30 students in grade 12 of SMAN 3 Padang as potential users of the product. Data that used in this research is primary data. Instrument of data collection in this research is a questionnaire of validity and practicalicity filled out by expert and students. The result for validity is 91,2% that criteria is very valid. Result for practicalicity from teacher is 90,5% that criteria is very practical and from stucent is 81,3% that criteria is practical.st

The lack of the students ' interest and attention toward the local wisdom values of the local culture is this research background. The phenomena are due to the absence of interactive media to strengthen character education based on local wisdom in school. The purpose of this research is to create an interactive media based on local wisdom values with the implementation of the iconic card to strengthen the local wisdom values of Malay culture which is useful to build students’ character education. The research used a qualitative descriptive method with social anthropolinguistics approach. The subject of this research was students of Nurul Hasanah Senior High School, Medan. The data were collected through field observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that the iconic card might be used as a media to teach Malay wisdom values with the use of the Pak Belalang icon and Malay pantun. Pantun in this research has local wisdom values of Malay culture such as moral, ethical and norm values. Therefore, it can be concluded that the iconic card can be used as media in strengthening the local wisdom values of Malay culture that useful for students' character education.
