Leiomyosarcomas belong to one of the histological subtypes of soft tissue sarcomas. They most often occur in genital, gastrointestinal tract and extremities, and the appearance of these tumors in the bones (especially head and neck) is very rare. Clinically, leiomyosarcomas are aggressive tumors. Treatment is multidisciplinary and includes surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. This case report presents a 61-year-old patient who was referred to a maxillofacial surgeon due to congestion of the right side of the nose, pain in the right eye, and occasional epistaxis. After complete examination, including biopsy with histopathology and immunohistochemistry, primary intraosseous leiomyosarcoma of the nose and paranasal cavities was diagnosed. Since the tumor lesion was assessed as inoperable, the treatment started with radiotherapy. Two and half years after the radiotherapy was completed, there was good local control of the disease and no dissemination. The case report illustrates the rarity of localization, challenges and difficulties in multimodal treatment, and contribution of radiotherapy to good treatment results.

Recent advances in flexible fiberoptic endoscopy have permitted direct visualization of segments of the gastrointestinal tract hitherto considered inaccessible. Preoperative diagnoses of diseases of these areas are subject to the vagaries of roentgen interpretation. The following case report illustrates the value of the colonoscope in distinguishing intralumenal ileal neoplastic disease from an inflammatory process (e.g., ileitis, appendiceal abscess). CASE REPORT W. M., a 15-year-old white youth, was referred for eveluation of intermittent lower abdominal pain of six weeks' duration. Prior to his admission, he experienced cramping abdominal pain, fever, cough, emesis, and diarrhea. This gradually abated, leaving a residuum of recurrent abdominal pain which was relieved partially with fiexion of the right thigh.

Abstract Ameloblastic fibrosarcoma (AFS) is a rare, aggressive malignant odontogenic tumor. AFS is seen most frequently in second and third decades of life. We are reporting a case of a low grade AFS in a 21-year-old male complaining of a painless swelling in the right side of the maxilla. The patient was treated with surgical excision followed by radiotherapy, which is considered the most effective approach for most of soft tissue sarcomas. AFS has a high-reported recurrence rate (up to 37%); therefore, long-term surveillance for recurrence is crucial.

Angiosarcoma is a rare malignant tumour occurring in less than 2% of soft tissue sarcomas. Angiosarcoma involving the kidney usually represents metastasis from skin or visceral primary lesions, while angiosarcoma primarily occurring in the kidney is a very rare neoplasm. We report a case of angiosarcoma of the right kidney in a 59-year-old male. The computed tomography scan showed a solid tumour with a low increased density after administration of contrast medium. Histological examination of the piece of nephrectomy confirmed the diagnosis.

Abstract The authors report an unusual case of intraradicular lumbar disc herniation. A large fragment of lumbar disc was found within the sheath of the right S1 nerve root. Surgical treatment results in a satisfactory clinical outcome. The literature on intradural and intraradicular lumbar disc herniation is reviewed.

Popliteal artery thrombosis may present as a complication of an osteochondroma located in the vicinity of the knee joint. This is a case report of a 26-year-old man with symptoms of the right lower extremity ischaemia without a previous history of vascular disease or trauma. Plain radiography, magnetic resonance angiography and Doppler ultrasonography documented the presence of an osteochondrous structure of the proximal tibial metaphysis, which displaced and compressed the popliteal artery, causing its occlusion due to intraluminal thrombosis..The patient was operated and histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of osteochondroma.

A healthy and beautiful smile can affect appearance and confidence. One of the aesthetic problems in dentistry that is often complained of by patients is excessive gingival display (gummy smile). The excessive gingival display can be caused by several factors, one of which is altered passive eruption (APE). One of the treatments to correct gummy smile related to APE is crown lengthening. Crown lengthening can be with bone reduction (gingivectomy with bone reduction) or without bone reduction (gingivectomy). Crown Lengthening with bone reduction is a surgical procedure that aims to maintain the dentogingival complex and to improve smile aesthetics. The purpose of this case report is to determine the crown lengthening with bone reduction (gingivectomy with bone reduction) procedure as a gummy smile treatment related to APE .A23-year-old female patient, came to Dental Hospital of Universitas Airlangga with complaints of her upper gum which not in the same length and the teeth looked short, she considered her smile was less aesthetic. After conducting analyses relating to aesthetics and periodontal tissue, crown lengthening with bone reduction was chosen for this patient treatment. The treatment results are quite good, visible gingival margins that matched the gingival zenith and improved patient's smile profile. APE as the etiology of patient's gummy smile can be corrected. There are no post-surgical complications such as excessive pain and infection. A proper diagnosis, treatment plan, and good techniques can produce a harmonious smile on the patient.
