In this paper we study the flow of an incompressible Erying-Powell fluid bounded by a linear stretching surface. The mass transfer analysis in the presence of destructive /generative chemical reactions is also analyzed. A similarity transformation is used to transform the governing partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. Computations for dimensionless velocity and concentration fields are performed by an efficient approach namely the homotopy analysis method (HAM) and numerical solution is obtained by shooting technique along with Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg integration scheme. Graphical results are prepared to illustrate the details of flow and mass transfer characteristics and their dependence upon the physical parameters. The values for gradient of mass transfer are also evaluated and analyzed. A comparison of the present solutions with published results in the literature is performed and the results are found to be in excellent agreement.

This paper looks at the mass transfer effects on the unsteady two-dimensional and magnetohydrodynamic flow of an upper-convected Maxwell fluid bounded by a stretching surface. Homotopy analysis method is used for the development of series solution of the arising nonlinear problem. Plots of velocity and concentration fields are displayed and discussed. The values of surface mass transfer and gradient of mass transfer are also tabulated.

This communication reports the heat and mass transfer analysis in the stagnation-point flow toward a stretching sheet. An incompressible micropolar fluid takes into account the diffusion-thermo- (Dufour) and thermal-diffusion (Soret) effects. The arising nonlinear differential system is solved by homotopy analysis method. Convergence of the obtained homotopy solutions is clearly justified. Special emphasis has been given to various physical parameters through graphs and tables. It is noticed that fields are influenced appreciably with the variation of embedding parameters. A comparison of the present results with the existing numerical solution is discussed in a limiting sense.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to consider heat and mass transfer on magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) Williamson fluid flow over a slendering stretching sheet with variable thickness in the presence of radiation and chemical reaction. All pertinent flow parameters are discussed and their influence on the hydrodynamics, thermal and concentration boundary layer are presented with the aid of the diagram. Design/methodology/approach The governing partial differential equations are reduced into a system of ordinary differential equations with the help of suitable similarity variables. A discrete version of the homotopy analysis method (HAM) called the spectral homotopy analysis method (SHAM) was used to solve the transformed equations. SHAM is efficient, and it converges faster than the HAM. The SHAM provides flexibility when solving linear ordinary differential equations with the use of the Chebyshev spectral collocation method. Findings The findings revealed that an increase in the variable thermal conductivity hike the temperature and the thermal boundary layer thickness, whereas the reverse is the case for velocity close to the wall. Originality/value The uniqueness of this paper is the exploration of combined effects of heat and mass transfer on MHD Williamson fluid flow over a slendering stretching sheet. The Williamson fluid term in the momentum equation is expressed as a linear function and the viscosity and thermal conductivity are considered to vary in the boundary layer.

Entropy generation in bioconvection two-dimensional steady incompressible non-Newtonian Oldroyd-B nanofluid with Cattaneo–Christov heat and mass flux theory is investigated. The Darcy–Forchheimer law is used to study heat and mass transfer flow and microorganisms motion in porous media. Using appropriate similarity variables, the partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations which are then solved by homotopy analysis method. For an insight into the problem, the effects of various parameters on different profiles are shown in different graphs.

In this research paper, the Homotopy Analysis Method is used to investigate the twodimensional electrical conduction of a magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) Jeffrey Fluid across a stretching sheet under various conditions, such as when electrical current and temperature are both present, and when heat is added in the presence of a chemical reaction or thermal radiation. Applying similarity transformation, the governing partial differential equation is transformed into terms of nonlinear coupled ordinary differential equations. The Homotopy Analysis Method is used to solve a system of ordinary differential equations. The impact of different numerical values on velocity, concentration, and temperature is examined and presented in tables and graphs. The fluid velocity reduces as the retardation time parameter(2) grows, while the fluid velocity inside the boundary layer increases as the Deborah number () increases. The velocity profiles decrease when the magnetic parameter M is increased. The results of this study are entirely compatible with those of a viscous fluid. The Homotopy Analysis Method calculations have been carried out on the PARAM Shavak high-performance computing (HPC) machine using the BVPh2.0 Mathematica tool.

Magnetohydrodynamic nanofluid technologies are emerging in several areas including pharmacology, medicine and lubrication (smart tribology). The present study discusses the heat transfer and entropy generation of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Ag-water nanofluid flow over a stretching sheet with the effect of nanoparticles shape. Three different geometries of nanoparticles—sphere, blade and lamina—are considered. The problem is modeled in the form of momentum, energy and entropy equations. The homotopy analysis method (HAM) is used to find the analytical solution of momentum, energy and entropy equations. The variations of velocity profile, temperature profile, Nusselt number and entropy generation with the influences of physical parameters are discussed in graphical form. The results show that the performance of lamina-shaped nanoparticles is better in temperature distribution, heat transfer and enhancement of the entropy generation.

Abstract The effects of thermal radiation and mass transfer on an unsteady hydromagnetic boundary layer mixed convection flow along a vertical porous stretching surface with heat generation are studied. The fluid is assumed to be viscous and incompressible. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations using similarity variables. Numerical solutions of these equations are obtained by using the Runge-Kutta fourth order method along with the shooting technique. Velocity, temperature, concentration, the skin-friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number for variations in the governing thermo physical parameters are computed, analyzed and discussed.

Magnetohydrodynamic non-Newtonian fluid flow over a stretching sheet with intermittent thickness under multifarious slips is appraised. Williamson fluid pattern is incorporated in this discussion. The energy and concentration equations are confederated with the repercussion of Soret and Dufour. We endorsed homotopy analysis method (HAM) to collocate the solutions of ODE. The graphical and tabular results for velocity, temperature, concentration, friction factor, heat and mass transfer rates when (Newtonian fluid) and (non-Newtonian fluid-Williamson fluid) are secured and discussed in detail.

In this article, the author has examined the unsteady flow over a rotating stretchable disk with deceleration. The highly nonlinear partial differential equations of viscous fluid are simplified by existing similarity transformation. Reduced nonlinear ordinary differential equations are solved by homotopy analysis method (HAM). The convergence of HAM solutions is also obtained. A comparison table between analytical solutions and numerical solutions is also presented. Finally, the results for useful parameters, i.e., disk stretching parameters and unsteadiness parameters, are found.

Through this paper we investigated the heat and mass transfer in chemically reacting radiative Casson fluid flow over a slandering/flat stretching sheet in a slip flow regime with aligned magnetic field. This study is carried out under the influence of non uniform heat source/sink. First we converted the governing equations of the flow into ordinary differential equations by making use of suitable similarity transformations. The obtained non-linear differential equations are solved numerically using Runge-Kutta based shooting technique. Further, graphical representation has been given to study the effects of various physical parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration fields. Also numerical computations has been carried out to investigate the influence of the physical parameters involved in the flow on skin friction, rate of heat and mass transfer coefficients. Through this investigation, it is observed that aligned angle, Casson parameter and velocity slip parameter have the tendency to control the velocity field. Also heat transfer rate in flat stretching sheet is higher than that of slendering stretching sheet. A good agreement of the present results with the existed literature has been observed.
