The genesis of Rabelais' conception of progress illustrates the coming to terms of two divergent points of view in the sixteenth century, the humanists' belief in the past and the artisans' belief in the future. That a belief in the progress of knowledge played a significant role in the thought of certain fifteenth and sixteenth century precursors of the scientific movement has been well established. It seems equally certain that the idea of progress, though increasingly common among men who were engaged in the practical arts, had little appeal for most of the humanists of the time of Erasmus and before, preoccupied as they were with classical learning as the ne plus ultra. By the end of the sixteenth century the progressive view, which had received its main impetus from the side of the technological writers, had become part of the intellectual equipment of many classically educated men, and the scientific movement, heralded by Bacon and exemplified by Gilbert and Galileo, was in full swing.

Personnel demonstration projects in the federal government were first authorized by the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978. Several projects have been conducted in the past 15 years. The author draws a number of lessons from this experience, including how to select ideas to test, factors to consider in developing a project plan and an appropriate evaluation strategy, and how to conclude projects successfully. He also uses that experience to identify qualities in individuals and organizations that support successful innovations, and concludes that demonstration projects have the potential to play an even more significant role in federal personnel management in the future.

This paper proposes a recomposition of the intrigue of journalistic narratives on the Revolution of April 25, 1974 in Portugal based on the coverage of two Brazilian newspapers: O Estado de S. Paulo and Jornal do Brasil. The journalistic narrative is understood as a time orderer in the contemporaneity, expressing a “generalized circulation of historical perception” (Nora, 1979, p. 180), mobilized by the emergence of a new phenomenon: the event. The unusual coup d’état in Portugal stirred the world’s political imagination, reviving confrontations between left and right. At that moment, in Brazil, the military dictatorship completed 10 years and the fourth president of the Armed Forces was beginning its mandate. Narratives are analyzed from different points of view: the organization of facts in time, the construction of characters, projections for the future, or the re-signification of the past.

Client conduct can be addressed from numerous points of view. The client's conduct is distinctive in various circumstances will give his concept of client conduct. From an overall viewpoint, the conduct of the client, or rather any individual around there, is taken to be irregular. When noticed distinctly, it is regularly seen that the future conduct of an individual can rely upon different variables of the current circumstance just as the conduct in past circumstances. This examination establishes the forecast of client beat, for example regardless of whether the client will end buying from the purchaser or not, which relies upon different components. We have chipped away at two sorts of client information. To start with, that is reliant upon the current elements which don't influence the past or future buys. Second, a period arrangement information which gives us a thought of how the future buys can be identified with the buys before. Logistic Regression, Random Forest Classifier, Artificial neural organization, and Recurrent Neural Network has been carried out to find the connections of the agitate with different factors and order the client beat productively. The correlation of calculations demonstrates that the aftereffects of Logistic Regression were somewhat better for the principal Dataset. The Recurrent Neural Network model, which was applied to the time-arrangement dataset, additionally gave better outcomes.

It is reckoned that Islam is now professed by from 150 to 200 million people, nearly one-seventh of the population of the globe. For thirteen centuries it has played a great rôle in the history of religion. Its adherents have been found among civilized, half-civilized, and barbarous peoples; its theory and its practice have traversed the whole gamut of religious thought and experience; it has sometimes been associated with the leadership of thought in Western Asia, Egypt, and Europe; and it has maintained its position against the assaults and seductions of neighboring faiths. It presents an interesting and perplexing problem to students of religion, of anthropology and psychology, and of the general history of civilization. Recent events have raised afresh the question of its achievements in the past and its possibilities for the future, and writers of various points of view and various degrees of knowledge and insight have discussed its genesis and its essential nature and the character of its founder. It is the object of this article to state some of the questions thus raised and to examine briefly some of the answers that have been offered.

We have long felt those who modern society has named “Engineers” have played a significant role in the evolution of cultures and civilizations. Working with manual tools and the materials that nature provided, historical evidence has proven that practical, innovative, and esthetically beautiful creations emerged from our engineering ancestors. As with most effective research, understanding the past can lead to optimizing the future, and we propose that it is beneficial to study engineering and design in this context. In this paper we will discuss what we have termed “Ancestral Engineering”, and describe the rationale behind the initiative. Two main themes have emerged; engineers helping archaeologists to integrate engineering expertise into their investigations, and archaeologists helping engineers to extract engineering design practice and methodology from other cultures. Within this framework, several initial project ideas are discussed and a suite of Research Questions is proposed. We believe this is an emerging field, with significant opportunity to develop collaborative relationships with interested engineers, archaeologists and anthropologists to pursue discussions and potential research in this field.

Every generation writes its own history of the Church. As the past is continually evaluated from different points of view and as every generation asks new questions, so the understanding of the past changes and history is rewritten. In discussing this situation, three issues are treated: the understanding of the past and what history is, the requirements for writing history and the question whether history has a vision for the future. These matters continually appear in discussions on history and the requirements for writing history.

There is a line of titles of Saint Mary mentioned by Pope Francis in his published encyclicals and apostolic exortations. However, we summarize them into seven new titles, namely, Saint Mary is the daughter of Zion, mother, queen, woman, star, bride, and the spring of happiness for the little people. We consider that the number seven title has opened the minds of the faithful about the joy of believing in the Triune God who saves the world and the significant role of Saint Mary in the success of this exalted work. The recognition of the seven new titles aims to support the understanding of the faith of the Catholic faithful in the Blessed Mary as Mother of God and Virgin. Apart from that, another goal is that the quality of the Church's faith in the virginity of Saint Mary and her mother of God will be strengthened. What kind of quality do you want to affirm? What he wants to affirm is the quality of the Church's faith which is rooted in the past of the Old Testament, which is flourishing and expanding in the present, and which will bear fruit to await eternal happiness in the future (eschatological). Thus, the seven new titles of Saint Mary can reveal the faith of the Church to live at all times.
