The advancement of technology and the openness of the internet access in many places in Indonesia, making the shift in styles of learning and acquiring knowledge. Significant growth on such access also has changed the way everyone connected, communicate with each other and develop a social community. Unlike previous generations, college students in today’s era found many learning resources, both from his tutor at the College as well as from fellow students, also from other learning sources outside his College. The fact of this openness requires a new approach for a lecturer in the College to adopt a way of delivering his teaching, so the learning objectives can be achieved. One such implementation is implementing e-learning using the Social Learning Network. The purpose of this study is to see to what extent the effectiveness of the e-learning implementation on motivation and learning achievements of students. The research results showed that the learning opportunities has the greatest role in the motivation of learning, followed by collaborative learning. A high learning motivation using Social Learning Network, Schoology became a highly influential variable on learning achievements of Students in STMIK Primakara Bali

Abstract. If we focus on the perspective of learning throughout life and active aging it should be noted that, conceptually, this paradigm is related to a welfare approach eudaimonic with positive psychology and salutogenesis; all from a life-span approach.Starting from an initial and final assessment of aspects such as resilience, sense of self-efficacy, positive and negative emotions and life satisfaction, we work with the different contents of the program from an active and participative methodology over 12 weekly sessions. Proactivity and appreciative thought constitute the thread in the methodology and the outcome of the program results in a number of tools which support the new approach. As a significant number of participants in the program point out, in our culture and in today’s society, the need to learn is spreading to almost every corner of our social activity as a learning process that never stops, where, in addition, we can keep learning to unlearn against certainties and uncertainties where the contributions of the life-span approach, the positive psychology, the social learning and salutogenesis are the backbone on which it is based and builds the intervention program. To end this paper presents the objectives, content and overall structure of training and learning program, aimed at adults who are part of a program at the Permanent University Millán Santos of Valladolid. This program stresses indeed, the promotion of learning and active aging through various tools founded on Life Cycle, Social Learning and Positive Psychology contributions.Key Words: Resilience, Active aging, learning throughout life, social participation, salutogénesis.

This paper presents a social learning network analysis of Twitter during the 2020 global shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Research concerning online learning environments is focused on the reproduction of conventional teaching arrangements, whereas social media technologies afford new channels for the dissemination of information and sharing of knowledge and expertise. We examine Twitter feed around the hashtags #onlinelearning and #onlineteaching during the global shutdown to examine the spontaneous development of online learning communities. We find relatively small and ephemeral communities on the two topics. Most users make spontaneous contributions to the discussion but do not maintain a presence in the Twitter discourse. Optimizing the social learning network, we find many potential efficiencies to be gained through more proactive efforts to connect knowledge seekers and knowledge disseminators. Considerations and prospects for supporting online informal social learning networks are discussed.

The question of animal cultures has once again become a subject of debate in ethology, and is now one of its most active and problematic areas. One surprising feature of this research, however, is the lack of attention paid to the communications that go on in these complex animal societies, with the exception of mechanisms of social learning. This neglect of communications is all the more troubling because many ethologists are unwilling to acknowledge that animals have cultures precisely because they do not possess language, a refusal therefore on semiotic grounds. In the present article, I show that the biosemiotic approach to animal cultures is, on the contrary, essential to their understanding, even if the complexity of animal communications is far from being well enough understood. I consider that some of the consequences of this approach are very important, in particular the question of whether we can talk about subjects in the case of animals. Alternatively, I suggest that the semiotic approach to animal cultures leads to a discussion of some of the most serious limitations of biosemiotics, particularly when it comes to investigating the status of the interlocutors in a social community, or to taking into account interspecific communications and the social dimension of any biosemiotic interaction - which biosemiotics has for the moment failed to do. Finally I call attention to the importance of animals living in human communities and suggest that this be studied so as to better apprehend the capacities for culture in non-human living organisms.

Ensuring social educational processes does not only represent a trend in terms of the evolution of e-Learning systems, but also one of the main points of interest targeted by the developers of certain social platforms. In fact, raising awareness with respect to the importance of using Social Media tools in education leads to a two-way approach: both by integrating social tools into e-Learning systems and by integrating learning facilities into Social Media platforms. Over time, the social network Facebook has benefited from intense use at global level, including in e-Learning processes. In order to meet the current needs in terms of teaching and learning, Facebook has provided users with built-in opportunities to facilitate social learning processes. However, expanding the Social Learning features integrated in Facebook can be a challenge at present, because of the policies imposed for the social network. The present article outlines a proposed architecture for extending the Social Learning functionalities offered within Facebook Groups by ensuring the correlation with WordPress open-source CMS. Aspects related to how the correlation between the two platforms can be ensured, the necessary tools and the steps involved will be discussed. Also, the main implications and advantages offered by such an architecture and the identified limitations will be highlighted.

<p>Social learning network analysis is a potential approach to analyze the behaviour of students in collaborative work. However, most of the previous works focus on asynchronous discussion forum as the learning activity.  Very few of them are trying to analyze the students' collaborative work while using wiki e-learning. This paper proposes the degree centrality and eigenvector method for identifying the collaborative work of students while in wiki e-learning. The log data of the Moodle e-learning system is observed that records the students' activities and actions while using wiki.  The result shows that there is a close similarity between the degree centrality and the eigenvector. The result also reveals the students who obtain high outdegree values.  Furthermore, Agent_1 and Agent_12 represent the students who obtained high outdegree values, which mean these two nodes are acting as source providers that able to supply information and knowledge through the network. This result also strengthened by value of closeness and betweenness where Agent_1 and Agent_12 leading on this measurement. The high closeness value of Agent_1 and Agent_12 will lead into fast spreading information since they have fastest route and has the most direct route to the other node inside the network, thus collaborative work is easy to be initialized by these Agents. This work has successfully identified collaborative work of student. This finding is believed to bring enormous benefit on the e-learning system improvement in the future.</p>

This article reports on the use of blended learning in higher education. Blended learning has become popular in higher education in recent years. It is a move beyond traditional lecturing to incorporate face-to-face learning with e-learning, thereby creating a blend of learning experiences. The problem is that learning in higher education is complex and learning situations differ across contexts. Whilst there is face-to-face contact at some institutions, others offer distance learning or correspondence learning. In each context, the mode of learning may differ. The challenge is to cater for various learning opportunities through a series of learning interactions and to incorporate a blended approach. The aim of this study was to examine various ways of defining blended learning in different contexts. This was done through an examination of experiences of the use of blended learning in different higher education contexts. The study presents a case of blended learning in a postgraduate course. The experiences from all these cases are summarised and conclusions and recommendations are made in the context of blended learning in higher education in South Africa.
