Oil palm is a strategic mainstay product with a crucial role in the national economy, and it can also be carbon sink to mitigate the negative impact of global warming when managed in environmentally friendly manner. Therefore, management and surrounding community need to have an understanding of the environment, and pro-environmental attitude and behaviour. Action research, which aimed at mitigating global warming through the local action of environmental education (EE), was conducted toward oil palm plantation employee and surrounding community. The EE programme was expected to be able to shape understanding and pro-environmental attitude and behaviour in the target group.  Rapid observation and interview were carried out in collecting data for EE programme development.  A needs assessment was conducted in developing the EE subject; based on local environmental problems and gap of target group’s perception of the problems.  Global warming-related environmental problems found in the location included air temperature increase, drought and difficulty in determining planting season.  Spatial analysis based on 1989 and 2014 satellite imagery showed a decrease of the water body, tree vegetated land and open areas, and an increase in non-tree vegetated land and built land, accompanied by an increase in areas with higher temperature range.  Both employees and the community had a good knowledge of the environment, but less in conservation. The environmental education provided for them had been able to increase their perception on environmental conservation. However, repetition and intensive assistance are still needed to strengthen the perception

Environmental problems, pollution and global warming can be addressed from different perspectives. This project seeks to be an effective proposal to address these issues. It directs its efforts to the development of a process of awareness of young Peruvians between the ages of 11 and 15, to be incorporated into public schools through a program of environmental education. It starts from identifying a district model with critical levels of pollution in which to promote and implement an appropriate environmental education to contribute to the improvement and welfare of the environment The Independencia district was selected for it shows acute health problems, pollution and poor environmental awareness and culture, with the whole purpose of changing the attitude of a group of young people, parents and teachers to the social and environmental problems of their environment, instilling in them awareness and training in environmental education to create a multiplier effect and to improve their quality of life.

In recent decades, it has been observed that environmental problems have ‎aggravated negative impacts globally, and this confirms that the negative impact is ‎not limited to those concerned with the tasks of environmental education and their ‎specialists, but also includes all people, regardless of their standard of living, their ‎living conditions, and their educational and cultural level. This shows a lack of interest ‎in the repercussions of environmental problems, and efforts to address them‏.‏ In confirmation of the foregoing, the current research in environmental education and ‎contemporary challenges focused on some strategies appropriate to the Iraqi ‎environment, through four chapters; The first chapter dealt with the problem of the ‎research, its importance, goal and scientific terminology, and the second chapter ‎dealt with environmental education, its characteristics and features and the ‎contemporary challenges facing environmental education, and the third chapter was ‎limited to presenting the procedural framework (research methodology), while the ‎fourth chapter presented some educational strategies, which may contribute to ‎Strengthening environmental education, and at the same time compatible with the ‎Iraqi environment, such as: direct experience strategy, action research strategy and ‎practical studies, strategy for studying environmental issues, role-playing strategy, ‎problem-solving strategy, cartooning strategy, and participation strategy in ‎environmental activities, in addition to reviewing The most prominent results, ‎recommendations and suggestions. The majority of cosmopolitan cities are affected by the environmental problems inherent in the phenomenon of urbanization, which have a negative impact on people's lives. This article analyzed actors' perceptions on strategies for managing the environmental problems facing cosmopolitan West African cities through the case study of Parakou in Benin. The exploratory qualitative approach based on group and individual interviews was used. The data collected relate to the environmental problems of the city, the reasons for the persistence of the problems, and the strategies to be implemented for a better management of these problems. Qualitative speech analysis and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data. It emerged that household waste (solid and liquid) is the main environmental problem of the city. The persistence of these problems is explained by the incivility characterized by ignorance, irresponsibility and indifference of the population. The population supports that awareness raising and education in environmental management is a core solution to prevent and avoid the environmental problems of big cities. But how to ensure this environmental education of the population for an efficiency management of the environmental problems of cities?

Greenhouse gas emissions must be cut to limit global warming to 1.5-2C above preindustrial levels. Yet the rate of decarbonisation is currently too low to achieve this. Policy-relevant scenarios therefore rely on the permanent removal of CO2 from the atmosphere. However, none of the envisaged technologies has demonstrated scalability to the decarbonization targets for the year 2050. In this analysis, we show that artificial photosynthesis for CO2 reduction may deliver an efficient large-scale carbon sink. This technology is mainly developed towards solar fuels and its potential for negative emissions has been largely overlooked. With high efficiency and low sensitivity to high temperature and illumination conditions, it could, if developed towards a mature technology, present a viable approach to fill the gap in the negative emissions budget.<br>

Researches and Studies made by the Department of Oceanography of the Institute of Geoscience of the State University of Rio de Janeiro UERJ, evidenced the need for educational support where environment-related questions were concerned. A wide range of environment problems tend to concentrate in coastal areas, owing to disordinate urban growth combined with the lack of substructure to cope with it A large number of these problems can be minimized through the participation of the local community. Thus the goals of environmental education are to supply information, to promote a change in the population's attitude toward environmental problems, besides stimulating its participation by fostering its sense of responsibility. Preliminary results have demonstrated that the community has shown great interest in the work that has been proposed, and it has contributed with participation, promising response. Environmental education is fundamental when we consider possible solutions for environmental problems in coastal urban centers. Only by educating the main cause of environmental problems, man himself, will it be possible to consider the question starting from its very origin. This abstract presents two pioneer experiments in the Municipio of Rio de Janeiro, which are “Muito Prazer Marapendi” (“Glad to know you, Marapendi”) and “Troca de Areias da Praia de Copacabana” (“Exchange of Sands in Copacabana Beach”).

The development of nature tourism in conservation areas such as in Taman Hutan Raya (Tahura) should be able to minimize the negative impact for the ecosystem. Tourism activities on the utilization block of Tahura must be limited by applying ecotourism concept which is concerned with environmental conservation and not the concept of mass tourism that is oriented on the number of visitors. Tahura K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunagoro I, every year has increased the number of tourist arrivals, most occur in 2016 and 2017 that is equal to 62.8% and 63.5%. This condition harmful the environment if it is not managed in a sustainable way that considers the carrying capacity of its environment. Therefore, a study was conducted to calculate the environmental carrying capacity in the utilization blocks of Tahura K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunagoro I using the method of calculating the physical carrying capacity (PCC), real carrying capacity (RCC) and effective carrying capacity (ECC) with the formula developed by Cifuentes (1992). The results of the calculation of environmental carrying capacity can be used as recommendation of the types of tourist activities that can be done, the arrangement of tourist visits, the type of facility that can be built in accordance with the rules of conservation and the number of officers required.
