This study analyzed Higher-Order Thinking Skills of Environmental Problem (HOTSEP). It was conducted in March 2021. The sample comprised 114 vocational high school students, 66 male and 49 female students from several schools in Jakarta, Indonesia. The data was collected online using Google Form and Microsoft Excel for data analysis. The results showed that the HOTS score with analyzing environmental problems (C4) obtained an average score of 50. The thinking aspect of evaluating environmental problems (C5) obtained an average score of 49. The thinking aspect of making programs to overcome environmental problems (C6) obtained an average score of 47. Therefore, the study showed that the HOTS scores were relatively low since the average score was 51. The results showed that the HOTSEP score on the criticizing environmental problems (C4) obtained an average score of 24. The thinking aspect of environmental problem solving (C5) obtained an average score of 25. Furthermore, the thinking aspect of environmental innovation development (C6) obtained an average score of 23. Therefore, the study showed that the HOTSEP score was poor since the average score was 26. The research results suggest that learning media employed requires an improvement related to disaster mitigation. One media that can be developed is Disaster Research integrated book for Vocational Education (Drica). It can be concluded that the research results generally indicate that the vocational education students remain lacking in the HOTSEP aspect.

This research aims to developing the Biology Test of Creative Thunking-Torrance Test (BTCT-TT) assessment in studying Biology for high school student in grade 11. This type of research is Research& Development (R & D) with 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). This study have develodped 37 items that are valid and reliabel. BTCT-TT was tested on 150 high school students, the results showed the average score of students’ creative thinking skills was significantly releted to students who received BTCT-TT assessment and Conventional assessment.   Keywords: Biology Test of Creative Thinking-Torrance Test (BTCT-TT), Creative Thinking

The designing of high school / Islamic high school physics comic teaching materials has been done to improve students' critical thinking skills in Newton's Law material. The purpose of this research is to determine to develop a physics comic for high school / Islamic high school based on problem-based learning (PBL) to improve the creative thinking skills of students at MAN Sebukar. The research method used is the research and development method, namely the 4D development method which consists of 4 phases: defining, designing, developing and disseminating. At the defining stage, need analysis on curriculum, students, and materials were carried out. The designing stage was done by designing high school / Islamic high school physics comics based on problem based learning to improve students' creative thinking skills. At the developing stage, validity, practicality and effectiveness tests were carried out. Furthermore, the disseminating stage also carried out the practicality and effectiveness tests. At the defining stage, the analysis on results of the students’ score showed the low acquisition of students competencies is due to the low creative thinking skills of students, so a teaching material is designed that is in accordance with the student's needs, materials, and learning objectives that is expected to improve students’ learning competence, namely physics comics for senior high school students/Islamic senior high school students. Furthermore, at the designing stage, an initial draft of PBL-based for / Islamic high school physics comics was made in accordance with the curriculum used in the school where the research was conducted. And in the next stage, namely the developing stage, the analysis results were obtained from the development of physics comics for high school / Islamic high school which have valid (0.85), practical (94.67%), and effective criteria for skill assessment that are judges as very good category. And the final stage after developing stage, namely the disseminating stage, researchers carried out practicality and effectiveness tests in different classes and the practicality test results were obtained in the very practical category, namely 94.33% from students’ response questionnaires and effectiveness test results from the assessment of students knowledge with a percentage of completeness reaching 82.33. % in the very good category, the students' attitude competency reached an average score of 87.43% in the very good category, the skills competency reached an average score of 89.17% with the very good category. The designing of PBL-based high school / Islamic high school physics comics is able to improve students' creative thinking skill since it eventually gives impact on students’ scores.

Flooding that occurred recently has become a very detrimental disaster for the victims. This flood disaster is still a concern for people in Indonesia. Flood mitigation needs to be done to all levels of society, especially vocational school students. Vocational school students must be responsive in any situation because, after graduation, they are ready to work. Disaster mitigation is essential to be included in learning at school. Disaster mitigation is also related to the Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) to always be ready and alert. In measuring vocational school students' understanding of disaster mitigation, initial research was carried out related to disaster mitigation and HOTS. The research subjects were 100 students of Vocational School in Jakarta who were randomly selected. This study used Google Forms as a data collection technique. The results showed that the students’ HOTS score was still low. The results showed that the Students’ HOTS scores on flooding were still low. The average score obtained by the whole students was 43.34. The male students obtained 30.27, and the female students obtained 45.97. All schools in Indonesia should implement early mitigation education that is integrated with HOTS learning.

<p style="text-align:justify">Critical thinking skills are one of the thinking skills needed to live in the 21st century and the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This study aims to develop a Virtual Classroom Critical Thinking (VC2T) Model, which is valid, practical, and effective to improve students' critical thinking skills. VC2T model has six steps: problem orientation, formulation, group discussion, analysis, result discussion, and reflection. This study is a Research & Development (R & D) involving 33 high school students in Surabaya, Indonesia. Before being tested, the VC2T Model was designed based on the theory of Plomp and Nieveen and then validated by 3 (three) experts in physics education. Data were analyzed using validity by experts, implementation of teaching with the VC2T Model, paired t-test, calculation of n-gain, effect size and percentage of student responses. The results showed that the VC2T Model is: (1) valid with an average validity score of 4.14 in the high validity category; (2) practical with an average score of implementations teaching of VC2T Model 4.26 in the outstanding category; and (3) effective as indicated by increasing of students' critical thinking skills scores which are statistically significant at alpha .05, the average n-gain is .38 in the medium category, the effect size of 6.93 is in a strong category and the average students' response is 87.59 % with outstanding category.</p>

Abstract This research is aimed to develop knowledge enrichment book about tornado as a physics learning resource, especially to Bassed Competence 3.7 Class XI, namely Applying the principle of fluid dynamics in technology. The method applied in this research is the Development Research referring to the Dick and Carey model. Steps that was done are survey in eight high school, two well-known bookstore in Jakarta, online bookstore, and Pusat Kurikulum dan Perbukuan (Puskurbuk). The survey results show there is knowledge enrichment book is presented with more focus on the disaster that is less scientific and less deep because only limited discuss section. Referring to the results of the survey and quality standards enrichment books, knowledge enrichment book is written by discuss mainly the physical quantities of gas flow especially pressure gradient, the events and the physical concept of tornado, to disaster mitigation. Based on results of the readability test to high school students is obtained a mean score of materials component is 92,5%, 88,5% for presentation, 84,17% for language, and 85,62% for graphics. Score 87,5% stated that the material in the book is easy to understand and 82,5% stated that the presentation materials may be motivated to dig up more information. Based on results of readability test, thin book obtaine excellent overall interpretation. Based on the results of the feasibility test, gets an average score of 81,05, showing knowledge enrichment book "Kajian Fisis Peristiwa Angin Puting Beliung" decent with a good rating. Keywords: knowledge enrichment book, tornado, pressure, air flow Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku pengayaan pengetahuan angin puting beliung sebagai sumber belajar fisika terutama untuk Kompetensi Dasar (KD) 3.7 Kelas XI, yaitu Menerapkan prinsip fluida dinamik dalam teknologi. Metode yang diterapkan yaitu Penelitian Pengembangan yang mengacu pendapat Dick dan Carey. Langkah yang sudah  dilakukan yaitu survei di delapan SMA, dua toko buku terkenal di Jakarta, toko buku online, dan Pusat Kurikulum dan Perbukuan (Puskurbuk). Hasil survei menunjukkan sajian buku pengayaan terkait angin puting beliung yang ada lebih fokus pada bencana sehingga kurang ilmiah dan kurang mendalam karena hanya sebatas dalam satu subbab. Mengacu pada hasil survei dan standar kualitas buku pengayaan, ditulis buku pengayaan pengetahuan yang membahas besaran fisis aliran gas terutama gradien tekanan, peristiwa dan konsep fisis terjadinya angin puting beliung, hingga mitigasi bencana. Berdasarkan hasil uji keterbacaan kepada siswa SMA diperoleh rerata skor komponen materi 92,5%, penyajian 88,5%, bahasa 84,17%, dan grafika 85,62%. Skor 87,5% menyatakan materi pada buku mudah dipahami dan 82,5% menyatakan penyajian materi dapat memotivasi untuk menggali informasi lebih lanjut. Dari hasil uji keterbacaan, buku ini memperoleh interpretasi keseluruhan sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil uji kelayakan diperoleh rata-rata skor 81,05, menunjukkan buku pengayaan pengetahuan “Kajian Fisis Peristiwa Angin Puting Beliung” layak dengan predikat baik. This study aimed at determining the effect of the inquiry training learning model assisted by Google Classroom in improving students' creative thinking skills. This research was quasi-experimental. Total samples were 32 students of SMAN 1 Banguntapan. The instrument test was essay test to measure the creative thinking skills. The first step of study was the given the pretest, then face-to-face learning and online learning at the time agreed upon with students. The final stage was carried out posttest to see the achievement of score after treatment. The results showed that the gain scores of creative thinking skill in students are categorized into three, namely: 62% of students with low category gain scores, 31% of students with moderate category gain scores, and 7% of students with high category gain scores. The average score of gain of creative thinking ability was 0.3 which was in the medium category. Based on these results, further research is needed with an emphasis on optimizing the use of Google Classroom and confirming knowledge construction in face-to-face learning.

One of the demands in 21st-century education is critical thinking skills that are considered still lacking. The 2013 curriculum learning process includes three domains, namely affective (attitude), cognitive (knowledge), and psychomotor (skills). One of the learning tools that need to be improved to achieve the 2013 curriculum goals is LKPD. This study aims to develop a student worksheet that is valid, practical, and effective. The research method used is the Tessmer design includes expert review, one-to-one, and small group evaluation. The validation subjects were three experts, the individual test subjects were three students of class XI SMAN 6 Banjarmasin, and the smalls group test subjects were six students of class XI SMAN 6 Banjarmasin. The results showed that LKPD obtained an average score of 3.25 (valid), the practicality of the content has an average score of 3.82 (good), the practicality of expectations obtained an average score of 90.48% (very good), and the effectiveness of the expectations has a very good category and good category. The score of interpersonal skills 86.17% (very good), and scores of intrapersonal skills 84.33% (very good).AbstrakSalah satu tuntutan dalam pendidikan abad ke-21 ialah  keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dianggap masih kurang. Proses pembelajaran kurikulum 2013 mencakup tiga ranah, yaitu afektif (sikap), kognitif (pengetahuan) dan psikomotorik (keterampilan). Salah satu perangkat pembelajaran yang perlu diperbaiki agar tercapai tujuan kurikulum 2013 ialah LKPD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKPD yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu desain Tessmer meliputi expert review, one-to-one, dan small group evaluation. Subjek validasi adalah 3 orang ahli, subjek uji perorangan adalah 3 orang peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 6 Banjarmasin, dan subjek uji kelompok kecil adalah 6 orang peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 6 Banjarmasin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan LKPD memperoleh skor rata-rata 3,25 (valid), kepraktisan isi memperoleh skor rata-rata 3,82 (baik), kepraktisan harapan memperoleh skor rata-rata 90,48% (sangat baik), dan keefektifan harapan memperoleh kategori sangat baik dan kategori baik. Skor keterampilan interpersonal 86,17% (sangat baik), dan skor keterampilan intrapersonal 84,33% (sangat baik).

Efforts to develop critical thinking skills are still educational goals which are expected to improve learning outcomes which have an impact on the performance and quality of students. It is important to measure critical thinking skills so that the right techniques can be found to develop and improve these thinking skills. This study aims to describe critical thinking skills and their relationship with science learning outcomes of SMPN students in the city of Mataram. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study with a sample of 418 Grade VII students and 435 Grade VIII students who were determined using purvosive techniques. Collecting data using test instruments that have been validated by experts and tested for reliability. The results showed that the critical thinking skills profile of the students of SMPN Mataram City was classified as moderate, with an average score of 68.83 for grade seven (VII) and 70.69 for grade eight (VIII). So it can be said that the relationship between critical thinking skills and science learning outcomes is very low as indicated by the R square value. R square for class VII is 0.074, which means that critical thinking skills have an effect of 7% on science learning outcomes. R square for class VII is 0.097, which means that critical thinking skills have an effect of 9% on science learning outcomes. The critical thinking skills of SMPN students in Mataram City needs to be improved by improving the learning process and learning evaluation tools.

Critical thinking is one of the skills that must be possessed in studying science. During the Covid-19 pandemic, flipbooks and videos can be used as alternative media to improve students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using flipbooks and videos in improving the critical thinking skills of junior high school students during the pandemic. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The data collected were in the form of students' pretest and posttest scores. The data were analyzed using the N-gain test and Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed: (1) learning videos were effective for improving students' critical thinking skills with an average score of 0.44 (medium) and (2) flipbooks were effective for improving students' critical thinking skills with an average score of 0.42 (medium). There is no significant difference between students' critical thinking skills, both after using flipbooks and videos.
