Career is one of the important things that need to be prepared in a person's life. Career planning is ideally done in adolescence. Even so, many high school students still cannot determine and make decisions about the selection of advanced studies in college. The DTC Psychology Institute requires the development of a system so that it can replace the role of the counseling session to be able to provide recommendations of college majors to students from tutoring agency who collaborate with the DTC. Because of the limited expert for counseling in several cities, it is necessary to develop a system to improve service quality. In this study, the prototype psychological test that will be developed is a career planning test. This career planning test is a Computer Base Tes) model that contains cognitive tests (aptitude) and interest tests. The form of cognitive test is multiple choice using Sternberg’s theory. The form of interest test is forced choice using Holland’s theory. The results of this prototype is a report containing the results of cognitive tests, interest tests and recommendations of college majors that are suitable for high school students. Keywords— Expert System, Psychology, Cognitive, Interet, Sternberg, Holland.

Learning Japanese has become very common amongst Taiwanese high school and university students, ranking thesecond most sought for language. A concise study of the likeable activities in a typical language class for theTaiwanese students seems to be quite useful. Therefore, the present study has concentrated on the senior high schoolstudents’ opinion about the ideal Japanese class. Subjects in this research were 478 students (181 boys, and 297 girls)in nine private schools in three counties. The instrument was a 10-item multiple-choice Chinese questionnaire basedon Littlewood (2010). The findings illustrated that females and males had similar opinions concerning thecommunicative language activities in an ideal Japanese class. They revealed much more differences related tonon-communicative activities, though. Moreover, both boys and girls displayed the highest interest in a relaxed classatmosphere, and the lowest interest in the usage of smartphones in the activities in the class.

Abstract Populations are aging dramatically, and call for higher education to be more age-friendly and pave the way for career paths in aging. The Careers in Aging Week (CIAW) program sponsored annually by the Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE) of GSA has been a core stimulus for building career interest – however, more could be done to strengthen and invigorate this effort. This symposium will show how intergenerational exchange can be used to mount interest in careers in aging and create new pipelines to gerontology programs in higher education. Examples of innovative approaches will demonstrate how career information can be communicated to students in more creative and compelling ways. The first paper will set the stage with an evidence-based overview of emerging areas for career development, and a presentation of career planning models to aid student understanding as to how to make aging career decisions. Two presentations will then focus on different aging-workforce initiatives aimed at building educational pipelines that connect high-school students with college students studying gerontology. In addition to highlighting the oft-overlooked population of high school students, attention will be given to the importance of including minority student populations in career development efforts. The final paper will describe the utility of broader intergenerational strategies that build bridges across students, educators, aging professionals, and community collaborators via campus career events. The discussant will bring these efforts together with an intergenerational programming lens that higher education can use to amplify awareness about the wide-range of career opportunities aging offers.

Relationships between Academic Comfort and General Occupational Themes of the 1985 Strong Campbell Interest Inventory were investigated for 1364 high school adolescents. Significant relationships between Academic Comfort and grade, sex, socioeconomic status, and career motivation were found. Academic Comfort scores of adolescents increased with higher grades and girls had higher Academic Comfort scores than the boys at ail grades. The results support Holland's theory of career development during the high school years in that certain career interests during this period of development are related to Academic Comfort.

AbstractAn important factor for First Generation High School students (FGS) in higher education is social capital. To highlight differences in social capital between FGS and their Non-FGS peers (NFGS) by analysing the structure of their ego-centred social networks and its’ effect on their career planning, we conducted two cross-sectional studies: on high school students during their first career planning stage and on college students at the beginning of their first semester. FGS have significantly less social capital in their networks than NFGS during school and university. Having academic supporters is associated with career planning amongst high school students, having instrumental support for career planning amongst college students.

The olfactory cognitive test is not commonly used. Still, it required in the future because it reported that and olfactory disorder appears as an initial symptom of Alzheimer’s dementia or COVID-19 infection. There are several types of odor inspection kits used for testing, but in Japan, there are odor sticks, open essences, T&T olfactometry, etc. This time, we report that we conducted an olfactory cognitive test using Odor Sticks and Open Essence on healthy 112 peoples (34 high school students, 55 university students, and 23 middle-aged). The Open Essence (made by FUJIFILM) has the smell as same as the Odor Stick Identification Test (OSIT-J). The odor Stick (made by Daiichi Pharmaceutical industry Co., Ltd.) and the open essence include the aromas as curry, perfume, Japanese cypress, India ink, menthol, rose, wood, stynkysocks/sweat, roasted garlic, condensed milk, gas for cooking, and Japanese mandarin aromas. This 12 different odorants perception is not necessarily culture-free; the Japanese version employed.

The author conducted a study of drug use among 254 Mexican-American high school students. Drug use was investigated in relationship to socioeconomic status, attitudes toward drugs, school related variables, and demographic factors. An eighty-eight item survey instrument with a multiple choice format was used to gather the data. The results indicate that the Mexican-American drug user differed significantly from the group normal from which he was drawn with regard to the aspects investigated.
