Because there is no turning back from quality, the economic system does not only fight for the price of the product, but also for quality. Certainly, companies that take the quality of the product seriously win. Therefore, the certification of the integrated management system is very valid. At the same time, it should be noted that with such a growing competition, enterprises that do not take into account the existing standards will cease to be attractive

Integration of function-specific management systems in organizations is rapidly becoming a topic of interest for managers and auditors alike. This is mainly due to the proliferation of management system standards that foster compliance with the stated criteria for quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, social responsibility and other function-specific aspects of performance. While most of the available literature on this topic focuses on the integration of standards, there is comparatively little information available on how to actually build an integrated system internally. This paper hypothesizes that, besides using audits for the implementation of the available procedures, audits can provide an excellent basis for these integration efforts. Therefore the prerequisites, strategies and resources necessary for an effective audit in support of integrated management systems are discussed. The paper also describes how audits are used to improve a combined quality and safety management system in a German nuclear facility.

An integrated management system encompasses all management and assessment activities. The organizational structure of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) quality management system is able to merge existing and future requirements. In this context the BfS management system encompasses quality management and radiation protection requirements as well as safety management, mining requirements and those of testing and calibration laboratories. Its structure allows the integration of function-specific management systems as well as specific requirements. The quality management system has taken into account the existing structure of documents to improve acceptability for the extended approach. Integrating management systems should enhance managerial and operational effectiveness. Whether or not this goal can or has been achieved is still a lingering question. A well-proven method to assess the effectiveness of any management system is auditing. Audits are designed to determine adequate compliance with applicable standards and guidelines. Moreover, they can and should be instrumental in identifying problem areas and potential improvements, along with corrective and preventive actions.

An integrated management system refers to the application of several different international standards, and it contributes to efficient and effective organizational management. The Quality Standards were first developed at the end of the twentieth century; however, due to social, political and many other reasons, the The International Organization for Standardization has also developed standards related to occupational health and safety, environmental protection, information security, risk management, energy efficiency, etc. Since all of these standards are process-oriented, there is an emerging need to simplify their implementation. Similarly, valid versions of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards identical in structure have been adopted in the last five years, which facilitated their integrated implementation and application. This paper describes a concept of integrated management system through a standardized safety management system. Key words: ISO standards, management, safety, integration

31986–2012. The product quality and safety management system ensures the stability of the quality characteristics of the products produced, including safety and quality indicators. The quality and safety of products, which are ensured at all stages of its production, are important indicators of the effectiveness of the enterprise's management system. In order to improve the quality of flour culinary products, the critical control points of the technological process of production of these products are analyzed and recommendations for reducing risks are given. To test the proposed quality and product safety management system, samples of flour culinary products were made, namely pancakes baked from mixtures of rice and corn flour, rice and soy flour, rice and amaranth instead of wheat of the highest grade. The choice of these types of flour as a substitute for wheat flour is due to the high content of dietary fibers, vitamins and minerals in them, which makes it possible to increase the consumer characteristics of products. The results of organoleptic evaluation and research of physical and chemical parameters of baked flour culinary products indicate that all indicators of safety and quality of flour culinary products comply with the requirements of GOST 31986–2012.

The experience of implementing an integrated management system at the enterprise for the production of flour confectionery products is considered. ISO 9001 is chosen to improve the efficiency of management processes and the quality of the company's products. The requirements of the standard allow on the basis of the implemented quality management system to create and implement an integrated management system (ISM) of the enterprise, adapted to the requirements of international standards ISO 9001:2015, HACCP, ISO 22000:2005, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018. Additive model is chosen for integration of enterprise management systems. The PDCA cycle was applied to all processes as a basis for integration. According to the results of the diagnostic audit, the risks of the enterprise are determined: product safety, accidents and injuries, the danger of excessive emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, the formation of solid waste. A plan of activities to eliminate possible risks has been drawn up. Based on the risk analysis, critical control points (CCP) for semi-finished and finished products are determined. Management of CCP is carried out by means of control over deliveries of raw materials and laboratory tests of its quality, tracking of parameters of production process at the stage of preparation of glaze, guarantee conditions of storage of finished goods (temperature, terms of realization) and supervision of sanitary processing of warehouse, carrying out scheduled preventive repair of the production equipment. Introduction of ISM will provide to the confectionery enterprise a guarantee of quality of products and stability of development of production.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the barriers and challenges faced by chemical industries in Malaysia causing to the low participation in Responsible Care program. Also, this paper aims to propose a solution to address the issues in implementing Responsible Care by introducing a Simplified and Integrated Management System for Responsible Care. Design/methodology/approach A questionnaire was distributed to 132 Responsible Care signatory companies in Malaysia, and they were given a week to return it via e-mail. Combining the inputs from the survey and document analysis, a Simplified and Integrated Management System for Responsible Care (SIMS-RC) was proposed. Findings Responsible Care signatory companies faced barriers in implementing product stewardship code and they also faced challenges in getting employees’ commitment from all levels. Taking the inputs received from Responsible Care signatory companies and document analysis, an SIMS-RC was proposed as a closed-loop process which consists of quality, environmental, health and safety management system. Research limitations/implications Some of the chemical companies were unable to share their thoughts in the survey due to the companies’ confidential reason. Originality/value Abundant literature has discussed about the limitation of Responsible Care that needs to be improved. Therefore, several elements and procedures of the program need to be revised and innovated to help the signatory companies to continuously improve their performances and encourage more participation in Responsible Care program. The findings will add value to the current body of knowledge and Responsible Care signatory companies which seek to improve Responsible Care implementation through an integrated management system approach. The proposed SIMS-RC is a simple, integrated, holistic and process-oriented management system in which it blends Responsible Care into quality, environmental, health and safety management system.

Modern tendencies in food industry development (including meat products processing) are connected with compulsory advance and improvement in production techniques as well as implementation of effective management systems which stem from the integrated approach to risk management. The development and implementation of the systems which would guarantee required and stable safety of products for consumers are very important as well as their quality. For that reason it is essential to develop the models of integrated management system which will be based on the quality management system (QMS) and food safety management system standards. The authors performed comparative analysis of the requirements of the integrated standards. As a result of the analysis and expert evaluation they determined ten areas of integration, developed the matrix of requirements for the elements of the integrated system. The authors studied the risks, gave scientific evidence concerning the occurrence of potential hazards, determined unacceptable risks, pointed out critical control points and developed food safety management system plan for management in these points. They also determined the regularities in the influence of the quality loop stages on the quality and safety parameters, identified and structured the processes using IDEF0 function modeling methodology, made the blocks of graphs that show the interaction of processes determining the directions of information and product flows and reflecting the interaction of processes. The authors developed an integrated system model and determined the information requirements for its functioning. They used the procedure of the system performance assessment in a company using self-assessment criteria. The authors showed the advantages of the implementation and improvement of the integrated system in the company located in Saransk, the Republic of Mordovia.
