Ageing of population is a global trend that requires modernization of existing institutions to create con-ditions for a decent and proactive old age. The pre-sent study examines the analysis of foreign practic-es in involving senior citizens in working life. Based on the systematization of foreign research there were identified: main problems of employment of retired persons, as well as the most popular tools and technologies for involving and keeping them in the labour sphere. The study places emphasis on only on the development of government programs and initiatives regarding the considered socio-demographic group, but also on the efficient tools of solving the raised problem at organizational level. The authors note that only a comprehensive ap-proach and the creation of interconnected institu-tions can ensure the development of new mecha-nisms of employment relations at labour market and the demand for elderly workers. It is highlighted that the effectiveness of introducing foreign technolo-gies and tools in Russian management depends on the following: quality of preliminary analysis of their demand; their adaptation taking into account exist-ing resource limitations (concerning financial and management aspects) of Russian companies and the established management practices; develop-ment of a new culture of ageing.

The proliferating phenomenon of public-private partnership (PPP) in public service provision continues to lay a firm foundation for the growth of organizations of hybrid character (van Gestel, Denis, & Ferlie, 2020). Unfortunately, the effects of such organizational arrangements on critical management practices remain underexplored (Berman, 2012). Analytically focusing on purpose-based taxonomy of practices including hiring, training, compensation, and employment relations (Chuang, Chen, & Chuang, 2013), this paper theoretically explores the possible implications of the PPP modality on human resource management (HRM) practice at the organizational level. Thirteen (13) critical propositions are delineated from interpretively intersecting extant knowledge from PPP and HRM strands of literature. In essence, the analysis suggests a) the high dependence of HRM practice and decision-making on the structural and institutional context, b) the necessity for more agility, characterized by adaptability and dynamism, and c) the need for a changed management competence profile of practitioners focusing on strategic and integrative skills sets in a PPP organization context. The paper advances the propositions as important insights for practitioners and as potent directions for further research.

Following a steady increase in the frequency and intensity of stress factors, caused by specific management practices that affect both workers’ health and the company’s efficiency, the notion of quality of life at work (QWL) has emerged. Thus, the need to reduce risk and provide a safe working environment is a fundamental business management principle. Henceforth, the meaning of work plays a crucial role in building a sense of doing the job well. However, to create a healthy, attractive and productive workplace, it is not enough to avoid creating suffering conditions at work. However, it is also necessary to develop the quality of working life by increasing workers’ well-being and productivity. Consequently, quality of work-life (QWL) within the company plays a vital role in maximizing production, employee’s well-being and motivation, a good brand image in the national and international market, and even improving the economic performance of the company. This work studied the quality of life at the company “Danone” taken as our study case. In this work, we try to understand the link between a good quality of working life and the company’s performance.

This study provides a retrospective analysis of work to ensure high quality of medical care in an unfavorable epidemic situation. The consequence of COVID-19 was the implementation of a program to prevent the spread of infection, the re-profiling of medical institu-tions, and the introduction of restrictive and anti-epidemic measures. The experience of our work has shown the effectiveness of changing the order of med-ical care, the organization of the functioning of de-partments and patient routing. The study reflects the measures implemented in the hospital departments, the Department of clinical and laboratory diagnostics, radiation diagnostics and pathology Department. To ensure the safety of patients, it was decided to place patients on a single bed according to the type of infec-tious boxes. The safety of employees was ensured by the use of personal protective equipment, minimiza-tion of contact time with patients, and preventive weekly examination of staff for SARS-CoV-2 infection. The organized and well-coordinated work of the en-tire staff of the institution made it possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among employees, to detect cases of infection in a timely manner, and to carry out appropriate isolation and monitoring measures. At the time of completion of infectious diseases departments, the mortality rate among patients was less than 9%. Our experience in reorganizing a multi-specialty facil-ity can be used in the future when working with pa-tients who have undergone COVID-19, as well as in the context of a worsening epidemic situation.

The rum industry is currently worth USD 16 billion, with production concentrated in tropical countries of the Caribbean and Asia-Pacific regions. The primary feedstock for rum production is sugar cane molasses, a by-product of sugar refineries. The main variables known to affect rum quality include the composition of the molasses, the length of fermentation, and the type of barrels and length of time used for aging the rum. The goal of this review is to provide an overview of the impact of these variables on rum quality, and to highlight current challenges and opportunities in the production of rum from molasses. In order to achieve this, we review the relevant contemporary scientific literature on these topics. The major contemporary challenges in the rum production industry include minimising the effects of variability in feedstock quality, ensuring the fermentation process runs to completion, preventing microbial contamination, and the selection and maintenance of yeast strains providing optimum ethanol production. Stringent quality management practices are required to ensure consistency in the quality and organoleptic properties of the rum from batch to batch. Further research is required to fully understand the influences of many of these variables on the final quality of the rum produced.

Abstract Background Nurses have a vital role in the healthcare system. One of the basic steps to increase their happiness is to recognize factors such as job satisfaction and quality of working life. Therefore, the goal of the present study was to examine the relationship between happiness and quality of working life and job satisfaction among nursing personnel. Methods This descriptive study was carried out on 270 hospital nurses who worked in emergency departments in Iran. Nurses were recruited through the census method. Data collection instruments included the Oxford Happiness Inventory (OHI), the Quality of Work Life Questionnaire (QWL), and the Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (JSQ). Data were explored using descriptive statistics, and stepwise multiple linear regression analysis. Results The mean age of participants was 30.1 ± 6.26 years. The mean happiness score was 38.5 ± 16.22, the mean Quality of Working Life (QWL) score was 84.3 ± 17.62, and the mean job satisfaction score was found to be 45.5 ± 13.57); corresponding to moderate levels of attributes. The results obtained from the ordinary least-square (OLS) regression indicated that happiness significantly was associated with economic status and satisfaction with closure (R2: 0.38). Conclusion Overall the current study found that nurses who work in emergency departments did not feel happy. Additionally, the findings suggest that their happiness were associated with their economic status, and closure over their duties.
