Providing great quality service is essential for a sustainable competitive advantage in today’s aggressive business environment. Organization’s success could positively influence by customer satisfaction. This study tried to examine the relationship between service quality elements towards customer satisfaction. Modified SERVQUAL model by Parasuraman et al. has been used to measure the four service quality dimensions. Data collection in this research was used quantitative method. Self-administered questionnaire focusses on customers of Pos Malaysia in Kuala Terengganu. Convenience sample of 322 Pos Malaysia customers were collected. Pearson correlation analysis reveals that all four service quality elements were positively associated with customer satisfaction with moderate correlation. Responsiveness and reliability were discovered to influenced customer satisfaction most compared to other elements. Therefore, this finding suggests that service industries particularly postal services should cultivate the key service quality elements thoroughly in order to enhance customers’ satisfaction without overlooking the remaining dimension.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to assess foreigners and overseas Pakistanis’ evaluation of the quality of the services provided by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and its effect on customer satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach – A convenience sample of 498 respondents was used to test the hypotheses of the study through structural equation modelling. Findings – The results of this study indicate that all of the hypotheses are supported and customer satisfaction of PIA customers is influenced by all of the five service quality dimensions (AIRQUAL), including airline tangibles, terminal tangibles, personnel, empathy, and image. Research limitations/implications – This research examines the relationship between service quality dimensions and customer satisfaction. The study focuses on the evaluation of overseas Pakistanis and foreigners regarding the service quality of PIA. The main limitation of this study is that it focuses on PIA: thus, the results cannot be generalised. Practical implications – The results indicate that managers should focus on different dimensions of airline service quality in order to enhance customer satisfaction. Originality/value – This study would enable PIA to have a better understanding of the effects of service quality, which will lead to passengers’ satisfaction and encourage the development of long-term relationships with their customers.

Service quality and customer satisfaction are related and are important factors for the success of service providers be it in the public or the private sector. This study aims to examine the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction in the Malawian public postal service, specifically its banking division. A cross-sectional, quantitative and descriptive study was undertaken and data was collected from 400 customers using the SERVPERF model. A non-probability sampling approach was adopted and respondents were selected using convenience sampling. Reliability of the study was tested using Cronbach alpha. Correlation tests were conducted using Spearman’s rho. The results show that all the five service quality dimensions, viz. tangibles, reliability, empathy, assurance and responsiveness, are significantly and positively correlated. There was also a significant correlation between the service quality dimensions and overall service quality, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty.


In the course of changing business environment and strong antagonism from similar business firms, surviving in the market and to change according to the dynamic business environment have become a challenge for many business firms. The problem becomes more apparent in the context of Banking, where the products are not much differentiated from each other. Providing superior service than one another has become the key tool for surviving and gaining competitive advantage in the service industry since its offering compromise mainly with intangible elements. This research paper intends to provide to understand comprehensively the dimensions of service quality. Service expectations of banks are different from different markets. This research will extend the understanding of service quality due to disparity in market condition and contextual circumstances. Firstly it attempts to evaluate the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction in the context of Indian retail Banks. Secondly, it assesses the impact of transactional factors on service quality. The present paper endeavored to apply the SERVPERF scale to identify, evaluate and prioritize the most significant consumer’s service quality dimensions. The study is undertaken in the city of Bhubaneswar of Odisha state. To extract significant factors of service quality dimensions, exploratory factor analysis is carried out. Reliability test was employed to verify the instrument to measure service quality.Further multivariate regression analysis is used to evaluate the impact of service quality dimensions on customer satisfaction. Three dimensions namely Tangibles, Reliability, and Responsiveness came out distinctively and revealed a strong relationship with customer satisfaction. Further Linear Regression is employed to analyze the influence of Transaction Factors on Service Quality. Occasional visitors and Saving account holders of the customer group have a significant influence on Service Quality. Many types of research in the past has been carried out to understand the relationship between Customer Satisfaction and Service quality, but then there is a requirement of researches into the dimensionality of service quality, for the reason that of disparity in market condition, contextual circumstances, and cultural issues. Moreover transactional factors are introduced in the research which will add richness in the literatures of service marketing. The finding of the study would also direct the bankers how well they could construct marketing strategies, serve present and prospective customers better for increasing and sustaining in the business

This study aims to determine the dimensions of mobile service quality and to examine their effect on customer satisfaction in UAE mobile phone service providers while also investigating the behavioural differences between mobile phone customers with prepaid and postpaid subscriptions. A combination of the SERVPERF model has been adopted as the main framework for analyzing service quality. A structured questionnaire instrument was designed for data collection. The present study concentrates on the level of customers’ satisfaction for leading service providers in the UAE mobile industry. Etisalat and Du were chosen for this study. A sample of (452) mobile phone users in Abu Dhabi city was selected at random using convenience-sampling. We found a positive effect of both functional and technical service quality (network quality) on customers’ satisfaction. Functional and technical dimensions were good predictors of customer satisfaction and confirmed the multidimensional nature of service quality. Also, the service quality dimensions; reliability, assurances, and responsiveness are found to be significant predictors of customer satisfaction. Behavioural difference between mobile phone customers is also significant in predicting customer satisfaction for postpaid subscribers. However, only reliability and network quality are significant predictors of customer satisfaction for prepaid subscribers. The model developed in this study provides marketers and researchers with a diagnostic tool to assess service quality from the perspectives of customers to meet the customer’s expectations and ensure customer satisfaction.

The recent development in the ecommerce services has shown a variety of established companies participating in the web business environment including Islamic banks. Business with the mostexperience and success in using ecommerce are beginning to realize that the indicator of success or failure of the ecommerce environment was included in the online services. Nowadays, the trend ofa business is to serve the customer with best quality of services to enhance the consumer satisfaction and compete with the global competitors as online services enabled registered user to make productspurchase transaction only through website such as check and manage financial standing, transfer funds, bill payment, prepaid reload and so forth. However, in recent times, Islamic banking users faced problems with the online system such as cannot log in to the system, payment failure and  mostly security and privacy hindrance. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between electronic service quality (e-SERVQUAL) and customer satisfaction towards IslamicOnline Banking Services users. Based on the sample size, only 76 respondents were selected to participate in this study by using a convenience sampling. Further, Pearson correlation and multipleregression were reported to analyze the mentioned relationship. The findings have shown that there is a positive relationship between e-SERVQUAL and customer satisfaction in using Islamic onlinebanking services. Based on the findings, Islamic online banking developer is recommended to improve more on their responsiveness in order to provide quick response to their customer’s requirements.  Moreover, they also should be more reliable in providing accurate information in performing the promised services. They must assure that all of their customers can quickly get responds and true feedback regarding their problems to ensure customer satisfy with service provided. Besides, the safety of the website and the protection of customer information alsoconsidered a vital action that should be concerned in order to increase the customers’ satisfaction.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to consider the nonlinear impact of online retail stores’ quality dimensions on general customer satisfaction and loyalty. Design/methodology/approach – Using a quantitative approach, 429 online users answered a closed questionnaire regarding their present satisfaction with 26 service attributes, their general satisfaction and loyalty. Using factorial analysis with Varimax rotation, five service-quality dimensions are studied: service accessibility/speed, fault recovery, buying reliability, service and site flexibility and site interaction/feedback. Penalty and reward contrast analysis identifies the Kano model classification of the service-quality dimensions, and the nonlinear impact of these dimensions, and customer satisfaction, on customer loyalty. Findings – The results show that there is a nonlinearity between quality dimensions, customer satisfaction and loyalty. The dimension “service accessibility/speed” has a one-dimensional impact on customer satisfaction, but with higher reward impact than penalty impact. “Fault recovery” is a “must-be”, “buying reliability” and “service flexibility” are “attractive” and “site interaction/feedback” is one-dimensional. Besides, the dimension “service accessibility/speed” has also a direct impact on loyalty if achieving above-average performance, thus reinforcing general customer satisfaction. Originality/value – Few previous papers explore this nonlinearity in online retail services. So, future studies should lead to a theoretical and practical understanding of managing these services. Understanding this nonlinearity may help companies to better identify what improve or offer to customers.

Purpose In the present competitive scenario in the Indian banking industry, service quality has become one of the most important facets of interest to academic researchers. The purpose of this paper is to determine the dimensions of perceived service quality and investigate their impact on customer satisfaction in the Indian banking context, with special reference to selected public sector banks in India. Design/methodology/approach On the basis of the empirical study, the authors validate a measurement model using structural equation modeling for investigating the impact of perceived service quality dimensions on customer satisfaction. The study sample consists of 480 respondents in the National Capital Region (NCR) of India; the data were collected through a structured questionnaire utilizing a seven-point Likert scale while implementing a purposive sampling technique. Findings The perceived service quality dimensions identified were tangibility, reliability, assurance, responsiveness, empathy, and image. The empirical findings revealed that “responsiveness” was found to be the most significant predictor of customer satisfaction. On the other hand, “image” (corporate image) has a positive but the least significant relationship with customer satisfaction followed by all other constructs. The exception is “reliability,” which is insignificantly related to customer satisfaction in Indian public sector banks. Research limitations/implications The study cannot be generalized in the context of Indian banking sectors, as it only focused on the public sector. The findings of this study suggest that the six dimensions of perceived service quality model are a suitable instrument for evaluating bank service quality for public banks in India. Therefore, bank managers can use this model to assess the bank service quality in the context of Indian public sector banks. Originality/value There is dearth of research focusing on corporate image as a dimension of perceived service quality and its effect on customer satisfaction in the Indian banking context. Furthermore, similar studies were rarely found in the Indian context, especially within the public banking sector. Hence, this paper attempts to accomplish the research gap by empirically testing the satisfaction level of a large sample of the population in NCR toward six dimensions of perceived service quality rendered by selected public sector banks in India.

PurposeConsidering the importance of current Libyan business environment, this paper aims to understand the influence of culture on perceived service quality that leads to customer satisfaction in the Libyan banking industry. In addition, it would be interesting to explore which type of banks, e.g. public or private banks, moderate the relationship between perceived service quality and customer satisfaction.Design/methodology/approachThe data were collected from the customers who are receiving services from the top three private and top three public banks in the cities of Tripoli and Misurata, Libya. About 329 samples were obtained and Smart PLS was used for the statistical analysis.FindingsThe results show that perceived service quality is strongly predicted by collectivism, masculinity and uncertainty avoidance. Perceived service quality also leads to customer satisfaction among the Libyan banking customers. Further, public bank is more concerned on customer satisfaction compared to private banks.Practical implicationThe research has greater implication for the Middle-Eastern bank managers who are pursuing possibilities of newer business strategies.OriginalityThe study provides an interesting viewpoint of the banking service in Libya, especially in the economic uncertainty post-war and political instability. Its focus on culture as a strong influence to the delivery of service quality in such context is admirable especially in relation with the embedded Islamic culture.

Maintaining a strong and loyal customer base is the objective of every organisation. However, in reality this is difficult to achieve in the current competitive environment. When the widespread challenges of the business environment are taken into account, organisations cannot simply plan to absorb new customers but instead adopt the strategy of preserving existing customers and promoting their loyalty to the organisation. This study examined customer loyalty in the banking sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). A theoretical model was constructed through an extensive literature review and by extracting the most relevant and important variables for customer loyalty. A questionnaire was used to collect data from customers of different banks. Regression results showed that service quality significantly influences customer satisfaction and customer trust. Furthermore, customer satisfaction and trust significantly affect customer loyalty towards banks. In this respect, service quality is imperative to maintain customer loyalty through customer satisfaction and trust.

The culinary business is being increased rapidly in Pakistan. Usually, Pakistani consumers prefer to eat meals at homes cooked by female members owing to cultural, social and religious reason. In order to bridge up the gap in existing hospitality literature, the objective of this research manuscript is to find out the relation among dimensions of quality (food quality, service quality and quality of physical environment), customer satisfaction, restaurant image, behavioral intentions and customer perceived value in casual restaurants in Sukkur city. Data for this research study have been collected from customers of restaurants located in Sukkur city through convenience sampling. SPSS (24) and Smart PLS (3.0) versions were used for data analysis. Service quality dimensions of causal restaurant were found important determinants of the restaurant image and customer perceived value followed by physical environment and service quality; whereas, the physical environment quality was not found to be a significant factor of perceived value of customer. Additionally, food quality is measured as an important restaurant’s product. Another outcome of the present study exhibited that quality of physical environment holds a substantial positive effect on restaurant image. The findings indicate quality in food and service is highly important to satisfy customers and make their behavior positive about casual restaurant. Further, as an average temperature remains above 400 in Sukkur city, internal environment of the restaurant is significant as it will affect the mood and perception of customers when they dine in the casual restaurant.
