Social networking sites have created a new social dimension where individuals can increase their social awareness by keeping in touch with old friends, making new friends, getting new data or products and gathering information in other aspects of everyday life. This helps individuals become more knowledgeable, which is very beneficial for students. Based on this, the paper proposed a model of perceived influence of academic performance using social networking. The proposed model was interpreted based on the academic performance of FSKSM (Faculty of computer Science and Information systems) students using SNSs in UTM. The study confirmed that majority of students agreed the social networking media have positive influence on their academic performance. Hence there is need for FSKSM policy makers to evolve strategies to guide and ensure that social networking sites are adopted mostly for academic purposes especially among the undergraduate students of the faculty.

This chapter explores how six constructs—control, trust, perceived risk, risk propensity, perceived legal protection, and privacy disposition—affect information disclosure on the Social Networking Site (SNS) Facebook. Building upon previous related work, an extended causal model of disclosure behaviour is proposed. The hypothesised relationships in this model were tested using survey data collected from 278 social networking site users in Ireland. The results of the analysis provide strong support for the proposed model.

Today Social networking is a common apporch, mostly along with youngster. The social media impact on the academic performance of students become fundamental part to determine. Social Networking Sites (SNS) for example, twitter facebook are presently an vital medium that are used to connect peoples and different  associations approximately the world  Technology is thriving quick with the passage of time, and the youngsters are trapped in this swift revolutionize. In this paper we find out in which ways social sites affects student’s academic performance and recognize the impact of social sites on our educational system. The reason at the back huge use of social networking sites. Social sites networking (SNS) have grow from being merely libertine stages for personl  use to awesome progressive structure that utilized both blend and inside and remotely for relationship and joined exertion with shafts separated stakeholders. Generally among youthful understudies, Social sites networks is an unmistakable example today In this paper by using student-por.csv and student-mat.csv dataset, we work on the classifier on  the social media impact on students academic performances. For this purposes we choose K nearest-neighbor (KNN), support vector machine (SVM) and Linear regression algorithm using python that predict slightly better and give right prediction about the student’s academic performance.  In social networking model our work has enhanced our imminent.  The results reveal that there is strong relationship between social media and student’s academic performance. This paper shows that mostly students have cell phones and also have internet availability so they use 40 mints form 4 hours daily and not give attentions to their studies, all these activities on internet effect the student’s academic performance. This study will commence with introduction and background of existing studies. After that on the basis of background there will be a research question.

Background: No doubt, new communication technology has turned the whole world into a "Global Village". Technology, as it is, though, like two sides of a coin, carries both the negative and the positive sides of it. It allows people to be well educated, enlightened, and keep up with changes in the world. Technology is exposing society to a new way to do stuff. Objective of the study: Effect of digital media on academic performance in undergraduate students. Materials and Methods: The research population consisted of all students who from 2017-2020 academic years are studying at Malwanchal University willing to participate in the study and complete the questionnaires entirely. Stratified sampling at random was done. Variables of social media use were measured by the Merton (1968) social network site use scale and academic performance was evaluated according to the self-reported GPA. Results: The results showed that the mean percentage of users belonging to low social network sites among the sample categories, average users of social network sites and high users of social network sites varied significantly. Conclusion: The use of social networking sites on the Internet has a negative effect on academic success. The value of learning to balance the use of social networking sites for better purposes is found to aid in their academic standing. Keywords: Social Network Sites (SNSs), Academic performance

Purpose This study aims to investigate an initial understanding about the different factors that are inducing and stemming the monotony of different social networking sites (SNSs). Specifically, the study provides an initial understanding for the liking/disliking of different SNSs, factors affecting users’ monotony and its impact on the success and effectiveness of different marketing activities. Design/methodology/approach A survey questionnaire was adopted from previously developed and validated scales. The questionnaire was administered to undergraduate students enrolled in different universities in India. We have used regression analysis, bootstrapping technique, Sobel test and ANOVA to address the research questions and hence to test the hypotheses. Findings The findings of the study revealed that gender does not have any impact on the monotony of SNSs. Both genders are experiencing boredom for SNSs and spend less time on such sites. Moreover, SNS boredom negatively impacts users’ attitudes toward different SNSs such as Facebook, twitter, etc., which in turn develop negative attitudes toward the different advertisement on these sites. This study revealed the marketers’ necessity of studying the phenomenon of SNS boredom. One of the most important finding of this study is that users’ age decides the level of monotony/boredom with the social sites; older users report significantly lower levels of social sites boredom as compared to younger users. Research limitations/implications To capture the opinion of SNS users, this study used a sample of students from different universities. The study findings are primarily based on studies utilizing millennial population. Originality/value This is the first study which empirically examines the phenomenon of social networking boredom among millennial by linking the theories of monotony, i.e. gratification theory. The findings of the study added a chapter in the literature by identifying the underlying mechanism through which monotony of SNS impacts effectiveness of the social media marketing activities. The findings shed more light on the consequences of SNS monotony for the digital marketers and revealed that age is an important factor in it.

The study aimed to know the extent to which Mobily applied innovative marketing in the social communication platforms, and to know the effect of using innovative marketing in the social communication platforms on consumer attitudes. The study sample consisted of 273 of Mobily customers in the KSA, the study used descriptive method of study. After data collection and analysis several results have been reached: Innovative marketing in social networking platforms contributes significantly to determining consumer trends. Mobily applies pioneering marketing in social networking sites well, As the overall average for innovative marketing hub in social media platforms reached 2.384. There is a statistically significant relationship between innovative marketing in social communication platforms and consumer trends at a significance level (0.05). Based on the results of the study, the researcher presented a number of recommendations, the most important of which is: the need for companies to adopt the means of social communication in their work and focus their efforts in increasing the effectiveness of their content on the networks. Formation of Companies Teams is responsible for following up, developing and updating their content on the means of social communication and follow-up responses of users of their content. Encourage users of social media to adhere to the credibility of information about products and services published on their personal accounts.

Social networking sites have had an impact on the twenty-first century generations of internet user, making it a very active means of communications, particularly among university students. Questions arise about the impact of social networking sites on academic performance and the possibility of using them as an effective educational tool to improve academic performance. The study assesses students’ opinion regarding usage of social networking sites and its impact on their academic performance. Non-probability convenience sampling technique was used to select a sample of ninety-six undergraduate students from seven private universities and they were asked to complete a structured questionnaire set with 18 questions. Descriptive-comparative research design was adopted. The data was subjected to descriptive analysis, particularly percentages and frequency table counts.
