Kata kunci: Sistem Informasi Akademik, DeLone & McLean, SmartPLS, PLS   Abstract: The Academic Information System assists activities in the management or administration of various activities in the context of implementing an effective and efficient teaching and learning process in a higher education institution. Bina Insani University has implemented an Academic Information System for more than two years. However, in fact the system has several problems with its use. In order for an information system to run optimally according to the needs of its users, it is necessary to evaluate the information system. This evaluation uses the DeLone & McLean (2003) method with 4 variables, system quality, information quality, service quality and user satisfaction. The population in this study were students and lecturers of the faculty of informatics as well as the academic and education sections with a total sample size of 92 respondents. The research instrument used an online questionnaire. The analysis method used is Partial Least Square (PLS) using the SmartPLS software. The result of this analysis is the acceptance of three of the three hypotheses tested. So that these results indicate the quality of the system has a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction with a path coefficient value of 0.407 and a t-statistic of 4.699, information quality has a positive and significant impact on user satisfaction with a path coefficient value of 0.336 and a t-statistic of 2,782 while service quality has a positive but insignificant effect on user satisfaction with a path coefficient value of 0.206 and a t-statistic of 1.898. Thus, this study shows that the Academic Information System that has been implemented at Bina Insani University can be said to be successful in providing good benefits to its users.     Keywords: Academic Information Systems, DeLone & McLean, SmartPLS, PLS

This paper involved the information system development, to automate the professional practices (or their counterparts in other universities) with a web-based application, where different actors (students, universities and companies) get the information they effectively compete them because the system validates the information contained in the databases and provides security transactions. The resulting technological product is called SIVIEE or Information System to Link University – Business, was developed with the idea that educational institutions have networks a cutting-edge tool for management of professional practices. Allows communication and electronic exchange of documents with the signatures respective, generates PDF documents that are stored on the server. The store information of students, companies and projects, open the possibility of data mining.

The purpose of this research is to measure and test the variables and indicators that influence the success of academic information system (SIAKAD) in universities with STIE Mandala Jember as a case study. Adopting Delone & Mclean IS Success research model, a set of structured questionnaires were distributed to 100 respondents. Exogenous variables include System Quality, Information Quality, Service Quality, and endogenous variables Student Satisfaction. Perceived usefulness variable used as a intervening variable proved it could mediate the quality of information, the quality of system and the quality of services to user satisfaction. Path analysis is employed as analitical technic. The result shows that there is a significant effect on the quality of the system, quality of the information, the quality of the services to the students’ satisfaction. Perceived usefulness variable, can mediate between exogenous variables to endogenous variables. This conclusion support the prediction of many previous researches. This indicates that the model used is not proper because the model is built on the construct of implementation of academic information system onstudents’ satisfaction. Keywords: System Quality, Information Quality, Service Quality, and Perceived Usefulness.

Information system maintenance is an important aspect of information system development, especially in systems that provide dynamic content, such as Web-based systems and Knowledge Management Systems (KMS). Design for Maintenance (DFM) is an approach that argues that maintenance effort should be considered during the design of information systems in addition to the usual system design considerations. This research examines how the design of links among knowledge documents in a KMS affects both their maintenance and use. We argue that providing links among knowledge documents increases the cost of maintenance because when a document changes, the documents that link to and from that document are more likely to need changes. At the same, linking knowledge documents makes it easier to locate useful knowledge and thus increases use. We examine this tension between use and maintenance using 10 years of data from a well-established KMS. Our results indicate that as the number of links among documents increases, both maintenance effort and use for these documents increase. Our analyses suggest two DFM principles for dynamic content in practice. First, knowledge coupling (i.e., linking) to documents internal to the KMS rather than sources external to the KMS better balances maintenance effort and use. Second, designing small, knowledge cohesive documents (e.g., 250-350 words) leads to the best balance between maintenance effort and use.
