Abstract. In this study we introduce a comparison method for footprint model results by evaluating the performance of conventional Lagrangian stochastic (LS) footprint models that use parameterised flow field characteristics with results of a Lagrangian trajectory model embedded in a large eddy simulation (LES) framework. The two conventional models follow the particles backward and forward in time while the trajectories in LES only evolve forward in time. We assess their performance in two unstably stratified boundary layers at observation levels covering the whole depth of the atmospheric boundary layer. We present a concept for footprint model comparison that can be applied for 2-D footprints and demonstrate that comparison of only cross wind integrated footprints is not sufficient for purposes facilitating two dimensional footprint information. Because the flow field description among the three models is most realistic in LES we use those results as the reference in the comparison. We found that the agreement of the two conventional models against the LES is generally better for intermediate measurement heights and for the more unstable case, whereas the two conventional flux footprint models agree best under less unstable conditions. The model comparison in 2-D was found quite sensitive to the grid resolution.

The publication is devoted to the problem of insufficient elaboration of methodological materials and evaluation tools for the creation by university graduates of a package of electronic materials for the final study, including a presentation version of the final qualifying work (FQP). Purpose: to present the basic methodological model of the presentation version (PV) of the FQP (bachelor's level) offered to the 4th year students of the Institute of Philology and History of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) (direction of preparation 45.03.02 "Linguistics", profile: "Translation and Translation Studies"); to analyze FQPs, the process of writing and preparation for the defense of which was carried out according to the methodology of the PV FQP model to bring the terminological apparatus of the discipline "Computer support of translation activity" ("CSTA") in the process of mastering which students develop PF FQP in standard and specialized software for the translator. Methods. Systemic method - the process of writing the text of the FQP, the development of the presentation version and the protection procedure are considered as a single educational system that requires the coordination of educational activities and the correct distribution of time; induction method - the conclusions given in the publication are formulated on the basis of the experience of the scientific leadership of several FQPs and the application of the proposed PV model; comparison method and comparative analysis - a comparative characteristic of the PV of two studies is given, recommendations for the use of media objects are given, the structure of PV FQP is presented, which consists of seven basic structural elements. Conclusions. The article deals with the problem of systematization of educational activities in the preparation of FQP; the concept of preparation for the defense of the final project and the basic methodological model of the presentation version of the FQP, carried out in the standard and specialized software of the translator, were developed. The carried out comparative analysis of PV FQP shows that, despite the schematization and a similar model used, each of the works is independent, contains individual distinctive characteristics in terms of presentation design, configuration of semantic accents and the final applied result.

AbstractFitting the multi-wavelength spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of galaxies is a widely used technique to extract information about the physical properties of galaxies. However, a major difficulty lies in the numerous uncertainties regarding almost all ingredients of the SED modeling of galaxies. The Bayesian methods provide a consistent conceptual basis for dealing with the problem of inference with many uncertainties. While the Bayesian parameter estimation method have become quite popular in the field of SED fitting of galaxies, the Bayesian model comparison method, which is based on the same Bayes’ rule, is still not widely used in this field. With the application of Bayesian model comparison method in a series of papers, we show that the results obtained with Bayesian model comparison are understandable in the context of stellar/galaxy physics. These results indicate that Bayesian model comparison is a reliable and very powerful method for the SED fitting of galaxies.

AbstractGiven the many types of suboptimality in perception, I ask how one should test for multiple forms of suboptimality at the same time – or, more generally, how one should compare process models that can differ in any or all of the multiple components. In analogy to factorial experimental design, I advocate for factorial model comparison.

The article is devoted to the development of the concept of the state to manage its tax risks, based on a systematic approach. The author's concept presupposes the presence of the following elements logically arranged according to the principle "from the general to the particular": 1) mechanisms for managing tax risks, 2) disclosing methodological recommendations, 3) specific proposals for changing legislation. To achieve this goal, the author used general scientific methods (deduction and induction, analysis and synthesis, observation, description, generalization) and private scientific methods of cognition (comparison method, graphical and tabular data presentation methods). We have presented a brief overview of the main tax risks of the Russian Federation in the current economic environment, which are classified in four areas: 1) risks in the field of value added taxation; 2) risks in the field of taxation of profits and income; 3) risks, the source of which is Russia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union; 4) customs risks. The author presents a general scheme of tax risk management by the state, which includes the context, goals and management strategy. The priority mechanisms for managing the tax risks of the state are formulated on the basis of the presented classification of tax risks. These areas include: introduction of an end-to-end product traceability system; substantiation of taxation methods; joint elimination of tax risks (Federal Tax Service, Federal Customs Service, Ministry of Labor, Federal Service for Financial Monitoring); optimization of tax administration costs on the part of both tax authorities and taxpayers; harmonization of indirect taxation, including duty-free trade; harmonization of international tax rules at the international level; selection of the most effective tools for eliminating multiple taxation. A draft "road map" has been developed to improve the management of state tax risks.
