Body’s height and mass measurement usually are measured with a different instrument without a knowledge to know the ideal body mass index (BMI). Ideal BMI is related to our health condition especially for people who do exercise. Usually people just guess the BMI from a visual condition that sometime give a false measurement. This paper proposes a device that can measured ideal BMI based on Brocha method based on microcontroller. The body’s height will be measured using ultrasonic sensor while the body’s mass will be measured with a load cell. The results show that the proposed device can predict the BMI well. The height measurement has a successful rate of 80%.

The hypothesis tested in this study was that the 'traditional build' is the culturally valued body shape by Ghanaian women. Culturally sensitive figural stimuli were designed to assess the current body image (CBI) and the ideal body image (IBI) of Ghanaian women. The most frequently selected model for the CBI was one that represented a slightly overweight woman; the IBI selected was consistent with a representation of normal body mass index; and the least healthy image was that figure that represented morbidly obesity.

Classification of human weight can be determined by body mass index. The body mass index can be calculated by dividing the height by the square of the body weight. According to researchers, this is less practical, so it needs to make a tool that can be used to determine ideal body weight more practically. One way is to use an Android smartphone camera. The camera is used to capture the image of the human body. Then the image is processed by using digital image processing and by using certain algorithms, so it may conclude the person's ideal weight category. The data used in this study are human photos, body weight and height. There are four stages to determine the weight and height based on the image. First, performing an analysis of the calculation of the derived formulas. Second, analyzing the edge detection algorithm. Third, conducting unit convertion, and fourth, proposing several algorithms to calculate the height and weight used to determine the ideal body weight. The results of the evaluation show that Algorithm C (measuring the width of an object starting with the height of the image adjusting half of the height of the object in the image) is the best algorithm with deviation value of 1.85% of the height and 8.87% of the weight, while the system accuracy rate in determining the ideal body weight has reached 78.7%.

The potential occurrence of certain illnesses can be easily diagnosed through measurements of some health indicators. One of such parameters is the Body Mass Index (BMI). BMI is simply the ratio of mass (kg) of a body to the square of its height (m2). This research presents the design and construction of an automated BMI measurement machine for medical purposes. It consists of three major units: the weighing unit (5 – 200 kg); height-measuring unit (0.02 – 2 m) and the processing unit. The weighing unit is made up of load button cell and load cell amplifier while the height-measuring unit consists of ultrasonic sensor. The analog differential output voltage from load cell is connected to arduino microcontroller via a Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA) integrated with Analogue-to-Digital Converter (ADC). The two units are connected to an open source arduino uno which computes mass-to-body ratio and sends the output results (mass, height and BMI) to the liquid crystal display (LCD). The weighing system was calibrated against a precision digital weighing system and it gave a correlation of 0.99. The height measurement was also compared with manual height measurement using a tape rule which gave a correlation of 0.97. The developed Instrument is cost effective and has high positive correlation with the standards (weighing scale and tape rule), it is therefore recommended for the measurement of weight, height and BMI. Keywords— load button cell, load cell amplifier, ultrasonic, body mass index, arduino uno

Abstract This research studied the preferences reported by women and men about their Ideal Body Image for the Opposite Sex (IBIOS), and its association with body mass index (BMI). It also analysed the preferences of each sex for a woman’s ideal body image (W-IBI) and a man’s ideal body image (M-IBI). A total of 450 participants aged 18–70 years with different weights were studied. Their IBIOS was assessed using standard figural stimuli. The sample was divided in four groups by sex and age (<45 years; ≥45 years). Sex and age differences in IBIOS, as well as sex differences in the preferences for a woman’s ideal body image (W-IBI) and a man’s ideal body image (M-IBI), were tested using a non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test. The association between IBIOS and BMI was analysed using Spearman’s correlation. In all groups, the most chosen silhouette as IBIOS was number 4. In the under-45 years group, women chose bigger silhouettes for the opposite sex than men did (p<0.05). In this age group women chose as ideal smaller silhouettes for the female body than men did (p<0.01). In addition, women and men in the younger age group and with normal weight chose smaller silhouettes, while those who were overweight or obese selected larger silhouettes (p<0.001). Age was found to be a relevant factor in IBIOS preferences, and in the association between IBIOS and nutritional status as measured by BMI, which was only observed to be significant in the younger age group.

Obesity-related to the result of decreased reproduction. Obese women are more prone to abnormal anovulation and uterine bleeding, endometrial hyperplasia/cancer, infertility, miscarriage, and pregnancy complications, compared to women of normal weight. This study aims to determine the levels of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) in the serum at various BMI (body mass index), also to determine the relationship and correlation between obesity and AMH levels in serum. The population in the study were women aged 20 years to 40 years with less BMI, Normal BMI and Obesity BMI. The study subjects were women between the ages of 20 to 40 years with a BMI less than 17-19.9, obesity BMI = 25 and normal BMI 20-25 as controls. Height measurement, weight weighing, and BMI calculation carried out according to the standard and subject to approval. Taking blood samples for the examination of AMH levels carried out by the RSKI laboratory (Infection Special Hospital) Airlangga University. The results of the data processed with SPSS 25 with the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Mann Whitney statistical analysis for different tests and Spearman analysis for the correlation test. The results of the study found homogeneous samples, there were no significant differences between the AMH levels of the less and obese groups with, p = 0.832 (p> 0.05). AMH levels in BMI were less (0.459 0.112 ng / mL) than obesity BMI (0.432 0.058 ng / mL), so it was concluded that AMH levels did not correlate with less BMI with obesity BMI, with a correlation value (r) = -0.105 (p = 0.643; p> 0.05). The results of this study concluded that body mass index not related and does not correlate with the levels of anti-Mullerian hormone in the serum.
