Optimism is associated with positive outcomes in relationships in general, possibly as a result of processes that promote and maintain Psychological Well-being. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between Optimism and Psychological Well being. It also investigated the difference between Hindu and Muslim, male and female Adolescents on Psychological Well-Being and Optimism. For this study 120 Adolescents were selected from Aligarh Muslim University, comprises 60 Hindu male & female and 60 Muslim male & female through random sampling. Pearson product moment correlation was also used for measuring the relationship between Optimism and Psychological Well-being, t-test was used to know the difference between male and female & Hindu and Muslim adolescents. Result shows that there is significant positive correlation between optimism and psychological well-being and there was insignificant difference between male and female adolescents on optimism and psychological well-being.

The present study was conducted with the aim to examine the relationship between internet addiction and psychological well-being among youth of Kashmir and to find out the difference in both addiction and psychological well-being among youth of Kashmir with respect to gender and residential status. 100 students studying in various colleges of two districts of Kashmir (Srinagar and Ganderbal) completed the Young’s Internet addiction test (Young, 1998) and Ryff’s Psychological well-being scale (Ryff, 1995). Results of the study revealed a significant negative correlation between internet addiction and psychological well-being among youth of Kashmir. Further it was found that there is significant difference in internet addiction among youth of Kashmir with respect to their gender, males were found to be high on internet addiction than their counter parts and no significant difference was found in internet addiction with respect to their residential status. Results also revealed insignificant difference in psychological well-being among male and female youth and regarding their residential status significant difference was found in psychological well-being, urban youth were found to be high on the levels of psychological well being as compared to rural youth. The study will be helpful in highlighting the effect of internet addiction among youth which is becoming a menace day by day for society.

This study was designed to address the relationship between and some components of psychological well-being and duration among prisoners in Hosanna town. To meet this objective, the researcher drew 100 out of 2,000 populations who were selected as sample participants of the study by using systematic random sampling techniques. A point Likert-type scale questionnaire was used. The data were analysed through percentage, correlation; t-test and analysis of variance. The result revealed that there is no significant relationship between some components of psychological well-being and age among prisoners. The study also revealed that there is a significant difference between male and female prisoners on the components of psychological well-being. The study suggested that it is advisable to create favourable conditions for the prisoner to develop a sense of good interaction among them. Finally, the correctional centre should develop a sense of belongingness and coordination among offenders to minimise stress and conflict in the correctional centre   Keywords: Components; psychological well-being; duration; prisoners.

The purpose of present study was to find out correlation between the Adjustment and their Psychological well-being among of Call center employees. The said sample was 240 both males and females in equal numbers was selected through random sampling. Adjustment Inventory &Psychological well-being Inventory are tailor-made instruments, having sufficient reliability and validity. For the purpose of analysis, The Karl-Pearson „r‟ technique was used. Present study reveals the result that there is significant Positive correlation between the Adjustment and Psychological well-being among of Call center employees. The authors suggest that there is a need to explore the rural and the urban correlation in the line of above study.

This study aimed at exploring the relationship between Occupational Self-Efficacy and psychological well-being among teachers in the city of Mysore, India. There are two major objectives of the study: to study the relationship between occupational self-efficacy and psychological well-being; and to investigate the effect of the variable of gender on occupational self-efficacy and psychological well-being. 600 teachers, from both Government and Private Schools, have been drowned by random sampling. A Spearman’s Correlation Coefficient and Mann Whitney’s U test have been applied to analyze hypotheses using SPSS version 20. The results of Spearman’s Correlation Coefficient indicated a positive and significant correlation between occupational self-efficacy and psychological well-being. The findings highlighted that, in the educational field, organizations should concentrate on teachers as a key element of the educated society; hence, they should concentrate on the psychological aspects of teachers’ personality. The study has also found that high self-efficacy and high psychological well-being are positively related; which in turn, could be considered in workplace in order to progress the productivity of educational outcomes. Finally, there was no significant effect of gender on both occupational self-efficacy and psychological well-being.

This paper explores the relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological well-being among hearing-impaired students. Emotional intelligence consists of five dimensions namely intrapersonal, interpersonal, adaptability, stress management and general mood. A total of 130 hearing-impaired students were chosen as participants via simple random sampling at four polytechnics in Malaysia. The Bar-On Emotional Quotient: Short (EQ-i: S) and Ryff‘s Psychological Well-Being instruments were utilised to measure emotional intelligence and psychological well-being. It was found that in general, hearing impaired students have moderate emotional intelligence level and psychological well-being. Results also found that intrapersonal, interpersonal and adaptability dimensions correlated significantly with psychological well-being. No correlations were found between stress management and general mood dimensions with psychological well-being. Though limited by their ability to speak and to hear, emotional intelligence among hearing-impaired students does play a role in enhancing their individual capability to learn and to experience positive psychological well-being in life.

The study: Psychological wellbeing refers to how people evaluate their life. According to World Health Organization psychological well being is one of the key elements of our health. The study investigates the anxiety and psychological well-being and whether any relationship exists between time of evaluation and severity of the problems. Objectives: The aim of this study is to identify anxiety and psychological wellbeing of adult and old age people. To find the relationship between anxiety and psychological well-being of adult and old age people. Sample Size: Data were collected 120 respondents. 60 were adult (Male and Female) and 60 were old age (Male and Female). For old age, the data collected from the old age homes and for adult from office sectors. Simple random sampling method was used to collect the sample. Method: The Research instrument was used for psychological well-being, Psychological well-being questionnaire (Sudha Bhogle, 1995). For Anxiety, DASS-21(Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995). ‘t’-test was applied to analyze the difference of the adult and old age. For Anxiety and Psychological well-being, the Karl-Pearson ‘r’ method was used to check the correlation. Results and Findings: The result will reveal there is a significance difference in anxiety and psychological wellbeing among adult and old age. And there is a negative correlation indicates between anxiety and psychological wellbeing, that means higher the anxiety lower the psychological wellbeing and lower the anxiety higher the psychological wellbeing.

The aim of the present study was investigated to psychology well –being of gender Difference. The random sampling Method was used in this study. The total sample consisted 100 students. 50 of male and 50 of female of 10th standard students selected from the Jamshedpur city. Ryff‟sscales of psychological well-being scale developed by Carol Ryff (1989) was used to measure the psychological well-being. In this research psychological well-being Inventory was used for data collection Data was analyzed by„t‟ test verify the hypothesis. The result shows that„t‟ value is 5.68 that is significant at 0.01 level. So, the hypothesis is accepted. . Results showed significant gender differences in the levels on psychological well-being. It means male and female students are difference in psychological well-being.

Objectives: Guided by the family systems theory (Bowen, 1966) and the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model (APIM; Cook & Kenny, 2005), this study examined the actor-partner effects of mother-adolescent communication on the psychological well-being of mothers and their adolescent children via mother-adolescent conflict and the differences between female and male adolescents.Methods: A total of 249 dyads of mothers and their adolescent children (age 13-16) in South Korea completed questionnaires on mother-adolescent communication, mother-adolescent conflict, and psychological well-being, respectively. The data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation, path model analysis, and multiple group analysis.Results: First, the findings showed both partial actor and partner effects of perceived mother-adolescent communication on psychological well-being through a perceived level of conflict in both male and female adolescents and mother pairs. In addition, we examined sex differences for the aforementioned indirect pathways. There were sex differences in the indirect actor effects, in that mothers’ and adolescents’ own perceived communication had differential effects on psychological well-being indirectly through perceived conflict. The indirect partner effects also differed between male and female adolescents. The results of this study are meaningful because they emphasize the bidirectionality of the relationships among these variables.Conclusion: The findings contribute to the literature by highlighting the dyadic process in which mother-adolescent communication, conflict, and psychological well-being perceived by mothers and adolescents affect themselves as well as each other. This study is meaningful because the results emphasize the relationships between these variables. In utilizing a family systems approach, this study’s findings can aid in developing parent education programs, counseling interventions, and family policies that improve individuals’ psychological well-being.

The authors suggest that there is a need to explore the rural and the urban youths’ correlation in the line of above study.
