COVID-19 pandemic has caused worldwide havoc. The present healthcare system is ruined, distancing both patients and doctors. To avoid transmission of infection, travel restrictions were made, making the patient’s visit to the doctor difficult. However, routine checkups for patients not infected with COVID-19 should be given without the threat of getting exposed to other patients in the hospital. In this respect, telemedicine becomes a reliable source that provides health services as well as reduces the infection spread. The first known evidence of real-time (live) video consultation occurred in 1959 at the University of Nebraska where doctors used telemedicine to transmit neurological examinations to students. During the first 3 months of 2020, there was a 50% increase in telehealth visits. Most patients from January to March 2020 approached for a condition other than COVID-19. Many telemedicine applications have been launched for teleconsultation such as Practo, Mfine, TATA Health, and Doctor 24 × 7 provide teleconsultation. Telemedicine has shown a huge impact on the present healthcare system during this pandemic and has placed itself in the spotlight during recent times. Through this paper, the role of telemedicine in the current scenario of pandemics and its development through recent times is discussed.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought new challenges to the global community, reinforcing the role of public health in society. The main measures to combat it had (and still have) a huge impact on the daily lives of citizens. This investigation aimed to identify and monitor the population’s perceptions about how it faced this period and the impact on health, well-being, and daily life. In this study, we describe the main trends observed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of mental health status, confidence in the capacity of the health services to respond to the pandemic, and the use of health services by participants. The online survey collected responses from 171,947 individuals ≥16 years of age in Portugal, over a period of 15 weeks that started on 21 March 2020. Participants could fill the questionnaire once or weekly, which enabled us to analyse trends and variations in responses. Overall, 81% of the respondents reported having felt agitated, anxious, or sad during the COVID-19 pandemic; 19% did not experience these feelings. During the confinement period, the proportion of participants feeling agitated, anxious, or sad every day/almost every day ranged between 20 and 30%, but since the deconfinement this proportion decreased. Around 30% reported having more difficulty getting to sleep or to sleep all night; 28.4% felt more agitated; 25.5% felt sadder, discouraged, or cried more easily; and 24.7% felt unable to do everything they had to do, women more frequently than men. Overall, 65.8% of the participants reported feeling confident or very confident in the health services’ capacity to respond to the challenges associated with the pandemic, and this confidence increased over time. Concerning the people who needed a consultation, 35.6% had one in person and 20.8% had one remotely, but almost 44% did not have one due to cancellation by the service (27.2%) or their own decision not to go (16.3%). At this unusual time in which we find ourselves and based on our findings, it is essential to continue monitoring how the population is facing the different phases of the pandemic until it officially ends. Analysing the effects of the pandemic from the point of view of citizens allows for anticipating critical trends and can contribute to preventative action.

Enhanced pharmacy services have been identified as a mechanism to address medicines and drug-related problems. The aim of the study was to explore the perspectives of practicing pharmacists on the scope of pharmacy service provision in Pakistan. This qualitative study was conducted at the Department of Pharmacy, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB). Face-to-face, in-depth interviews were conducted with practicing pharmacists at the university who were undertaking postgraduate studies. All interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using thematic analysis. A total of 13 pharmacists were interviewed. The analysis of data yielded four themes and 12 subthemes. The themes included the current scenario of pharmacy services, the benefits of pharmacy services, barriers to implementation of pharmacy services, and strategies to improve their delivery. Pharmacist participants reported that patient-oriented pharmacy services have not been properly implemented in Pakistan. Pharmacists appear to be undertaking only conventional roles at various levels within the healthcare system. The participants indicated multiple benefits of patient-oriented pharmacy services, including safe and effective use of medicines, minimization of drug-related problems, and financial benefits to the healthcare system. Based on the findings, policy-makers are required to take the necessary steps to overcome pharmacist-related and policy-related barriers associated with the implementation of patient-oriented pharmacy services in Pakistan.

The source of expertise is a teacher. A teacher plays an important role in the production and growth of nations. Nobody has ever denied the importance of a teacher in the evolution of humanity and science. A teacher has been at the forefront of the educational system since the beginning. A teacher is respected for his contributions to the growth of the next generation, society's well-being, the development of humanity's spirit, and individual training. Every moment, the teacher becomes absorbed in instructing his students as a gardener intends to his plants. Teaching is a profession that has a prominent place not only in Islam but in every religion and society in the world. However, it is a universal truth that world knowledge has never exposed the true importance and status of a teacher in the same way that Islam has made people aware of the teacher's high status. The teacher is regarded with great honor and reverence in Islam. The glory of the Holy Prophet as a teacher is represented in the Qur'an by Allah, the Exalted. "I have been sent as a teacher," the Holy Prophet said. In Islam, the teacher holds a very high and important role. Since he is a teacher and mentor, Islam has given the teacher the title of a spiritual father. This study aims to clarify the role of a teacher in the light of Seerah and to explore how a teacher plays an important role in the creation of a person's personality. For this reason, an empirical analysis of the current situation and as well as the viewpoints of students of the University of Sufism and Modern Sciences, Bhitshah, Matiari were examined. The questionnaire method was used to gather data in the form of student opinions. Ten questions were produced, and 120 questionnaires were distributed among 120 students to learn about their thoughts on the subject. 80 responses were received from selected students.  The collected data was analyzed in the form of a statistical result; the conclusion of the analyzed data was presented in various diagrams. That is proven that today’s teacher is sincere with his profession and he is fulfilling all the responsibilities of a good teacher. Majority of students said that they are satisfied from the behavior and teachings of today’s teacher. So that is why the designed hypotheses of this research was proven wrong by the analyzing of collected data.  This research work can be significance work for readers and scholars due to its specific field.

In the current scenario of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), power consumption is the major issue associated with nodes in WSN. LEACH technique plays a vital role of clustering in WSN and reduces the energy usage effectively. But LEACH has its own limitation in order to search cluster head nodes which are randomly distributed over the network. In this paper, ERA-NFL- BA algorithm is being proposed for selects the cluster heads in WSN. This algorithm help in selection of cluster heads can freely transform from global search to local search. At the end, a comparison has been done with earlier researcher using protocol ERA-NFL, which clearly shown that proposed Algorithm is best suited and from comparison results that ERA-NFL-BA has given better performance.

Nowadays, the Industry 4.0 concept affects every area of the industrial, economic, social and personal sectors. The most significant changings are the automation and the digitalization. This is also true for the material handling processes, where the handling systems use more and more automated machines; planning, operation and optimization of different logistic processes are based on many digital data collected from the material flow process. However, new methods and devices require new solutions which define new research directions. In this paper we describe the state of the art of the material handling researches and draw the role of the UMi-TWINN partner institutes in these fields. As a result of this H2020 EU project, scientific excellence of the University of Miskolc can be increased and new research activities will be started.


Accurate pronunciation has a vital role in English language learning as it can help learners to avoid misunderstanding in communication. However, EFL learners in many contexts, especially at the University of Phan Thiet, still encounter many difficulties in pronouncing English correctly. Therefore, this study endeavors to explore English-majored students’ perceptions towards the role of pronunciation in English language learning and examine their pronunciation practicing strategies (PPS). It involved 155 English-majored students at the University of Phan Thiet who answered closed-ended questionnaires and 18 English-majored students who participated in semi-structured interviews. The findings revealed that students strongly believed in the important role of pronunciation in English language learning; however, they sometimes employed PPS for their pronunciation improvement. Furthermore, the results showed that participants tended to use naturalistic practicing strategies and formal practicing strategies with sounds, but they overlooked strategies such as asking for help and cooperating with peers. Such findings could contribute further to the understanding of how students perceive the role of pronunciation and their PPS use in the research’s context and other similar ones.
