The research was conducted in Bittuang, Tana Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi Province, as one of the geothermal prospect areas and targets for the initial stage of the Government exploration drilling program for the 2020-2024 period. One aspect of geothermal is the manifestation control structure as a fluid migration path from below the surface. Therefore, identification of existing structures in the Bittuang geothermal area was carried out and confirmed the surface geological structure contained in the Bittuang geothermal geological map. In determining the presence of a fault and knowing its characteristics such as the type of fault, the direction of the dip, and the magnitude of the dip of the fault, the gravity data is processed using the multi-level second vertical derivative (ML-SVD) method. To strengthen the interpretation, the results from the ML-SVD were matched with the data from the horizontal gradient (HG) method and the geological data of the structure of the study area. From this process, there are 27 faults in the Bittuang geothermal area, two of which are indicated as controlling faults for the manifestation of the Balla group and the Cepeng group. This research is expected to describe faults in the Bittuang geothermal area, which can support detailed exploration activities.

In general, Manokwari has a geological structure that is in the form of a folding area found in the highlands of the mountains. Among the creases, there is a fault up and the fault down. In coastal or marine areas found many reefs and corals. The study of gravity was conducted in the Manokwari area of West Papua with the aim to know the subsurface geological structures based on FHD (First Horizontal Derivative), SVD (Second Vertical Derivative) and 2.5D Forward Modeling on the residual anomaly maps of the study area. The results showed that the research area has Bouguer Anomaly value ranged from 4 mGal to 96 mGal with the low anomaly at the left side of the research area lengthwise relatively in north-west to south-east direction, the middle-value anomaly spreads in the west-east area of research area, high anomaly scattered in the northern part of the research area. The results of the 2.5D subsurface modeling and the SVD and FHD analysis indicated the presence of a Thrust Fault on the C-C’ cross-section, on the B-B’ cross-section there is a Diorite Lembai intrusion with the density value is 2.75 gr/cc, whereas the A-A' cross-section which intersects with Sorong fault were not found any fault or rock intrusion based on observed gravity data of the research area.

Estimation of the subsurface geological structures in oil and gas prospect area of West Aceh has been done by utilizing gravity field anomaly of satellite gravity data. This research aim to analyze satellite gravity data in order to get geological features which is include deep and shallow structure or fault around oil and gas prospect area in West Aceh. The satellite gravity data is originally provided as Free Air Anomaly and should be corrected to get Complete Bouguer Anomaly (CBA). Furthermore, CBA was transformed into a horizontal plane and corrected from regional anomalous effects to obtain residual anomaly, horizontal and vertical derivative. From CBA, the gravity anomaly show good correlation with geological boundaries on different rock formation and the anomaly is decrease from NE-SW. Residual anomaly also gives same information with CBA but this anomaly focus on shallow structure. Furthermore, horizontal derivative and vertical derivative also show good correlation with geological structure or fault but in some areas the anomaly related with deep structure cannot be seen on the surface or geological map. Despite the result cannot correlate directly with oil and gas prospect area, satellite gravity can be used to identify gravity anomaly and also fault that related with hydrocarbon anomaly area

Abstract The geology of the Boulonnais has been well studied since the early part of the last century [Gosselet and Bertaut, 1873; Olry, 1904; Pruvost and Delepine, 1921]. Extensive coal exploration added substantially to the general understanding of the geology of the region but as outcrop is poor, many questions remain. Gravity methods used in the analysis of geological structures have had a long and successful history in helping to study the earth's crust for scientific and applied objectives. Regional gravity data are particularly useful in mapping geographic distribution and configuration of density contrast of rocks. Previous gravity research shows the main trends of the structure. In most cases the regional Bouguer gravity hides the relationship between the geology and the shape of the anomaly caused by the perturbing body. New information can be obtained by filtering the maps. The purpose of filtering a map is to remove unwanted characteristics and enhance desirable characteristics that are diagnostic for the geology. Because of their simple mathematical forms, most potential field filters are in the spectral domain. It is advisable to transform the original unfiltered field to the spectral domain, apply the filter, then transform the filtered map back to the spatial domain for use in the interpretation. Several spectrally filtered versions of the original gravity map are used in this regional interpretation. In the case of the Boulonnais the most useful filters have been the horizontal component and the first vertical derivative. In the first instance computing the horizontal gradients of the gravity field permits us to localise the limit of the blocks and then the fault positions. The gravimetric field above a vertical contact of rock with different density shows a low on the side of the low density rocks and a high on the side of the high density rocks. The inflection point is located just on the contact of the two types of rocks. This contact can be outlined by locating the maxima of the horizontal gradient. In the case of a low dipping contact maxima stay close to the contact, but are displaced down dip. In the second instance the first vertical derivative acts as a booster for the short wavelength; this attenuates or destroys the effect of the regional field. The resulting map shows a better structure because in complex areas they give a better definition of the different bodies by separating their effects. In the case of the Boulonnais the first vertical derivative allows us to distinguish the depressed region from the uplifted one. The structural evolution of the Boulonnais-Artois area includes two main extensional events in the late Palaeozoic-early Cretaceous interval and an inversion in mid-late Palaeocene time. The new gravity data in combination with recent field and published data have provided a new insight into the structure of the Boulonnais-Artois area and a new interpretation is proposed. -- Fault patterns are oriented 110N and 040N in the Boulonnais and 140N in Artois areas. -- The linkage between the faults shows a relay geometry with transfer zones [cf. Morley et al., 1990 and Pea-cock and Sanderson, 1994]. The best example is located between Sangatte (near the tunnel) and Landrethun faults where overlapping synthetic faults with a relay ramp are imaged. -- There is no major continuous fault zone but a complex en echelon fault system. -- Linkage between Boulonnais and Artois fault is not well constrained. An important discontinuity between the two regions is apparent. This model underlines the importance of overlapping fault tips with the generation of transfer zones. These structures are also known in the Wessex and Weald basins [Stoneley, 1982; Chadwick, 1993] where heritage and inversion are significant.

In 1884 I spent about a fortnight investigating the geological structure of these islands, and intended to have to a certain extent completed my studies at that time. Cholera was then raging at Campobasso on the mainland, and the islanders, not comprehending the curious habits of a travelling geologist, supposed I had been sent by the Government to spread the “Cholera Powder,” and requested me to leave the islands by the next steamer. This I naturally for safety's sake did, and opportunities for returning to the locality not having again presented themselves to me, and lest I should forget some of the interesting observations I then made, I think it desirable without further delay to record what I then saw. This is all the more important since my own observations differ considerably from those of the few other observers of the geology of these islands, or include facts which they do not mention in their writings.

Bone Regency as part of South Sulawesi is a very interesting area to discuss. This area is not only part of the history of South Sulawesi, but also a historical flow of South Sulawesi. the existence of nobles who are so attached to the joints of the lives of the people of Bone is still interesting to be examined to this day. Based on this, the article aims to reveal the role of Bone nobility in the swapraja government system to the regency (1950 - 1960). The political development of the government during this period was seen as sufficiently influencing the political dynamics of the government in Bone Regency which continued even today. The method used is the method of historical research with four stages, namely, heuristics, criticism (history), interpretation, and presentation (historiography). The results of the study show that after the transition from swapraja to regency, the role of nobility is still very calculated. But it is no longer like in the period before the transition, where the government was ruled by the king / aristocracy. At this time the level of intelligence is also taken into account. Apart from the fact that the structure of the government is indeed different because the process of appointing head of government is also different. But in general the role of nobility after the transition was not much different, where there were still many nobles holding power. ABSTRAK Kabupaten Bone sebagai bahagian dari Sulawesi Selatan merupakan suatu daerah yang sangat menarik untuk dibicarakan. Daerah ini bukan saja merupakan bagian dari sejarah Sulawesi Selatan, tetapi juga merupakan arus sejarah Sulawesi Selatan. keberadaan bangsawan yang begitu melekat di dalam sendi kehidupan masyarakat Bone masih menarik untuk ditelisik sampai hari ini. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan tentang peranan bangsawan Bone dalam sistem pemerintahan swapraja ke kabupaten (1950 – 1960). Perkembangan politik dari pemerintahan selama periode ini dipandang cukup mempengaruhi dinamika politik dari pemerintahan di Kabupaten Bone yang berlangsung bahkan sampai sekarang. Metode yang digunakan adalah adalah metode penelitian sejarah dengan empat tahapan yaitu, heuristik, kritik (sejarah), intrepretasi, dan penyajian (historiografi). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah peralihan dari swapraja ke kabupaten, peranan bangsawan masih sangat diperhitungkan. Namun tidak lagi seperti pada masa sebelum peralihan, di mana pemerintahan dikuasai oleh raja/aristokrasi. Pada masa ini tingkat kecerdasan juga diperhitungkan. Selain karena struktur pemerintahannya memang berbeda juga karena proses pengangkatan kepala pemerintahan juga berbeda. Namun secara umum peran bangsawan setelah masa peralihan tidak jauh berbeda, di mana masih banyak bangsawan yang memegang kekuasaan.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation is in the midst of significant change as a result of budgetary pressures from the government and the challenge of the oncoming digital age. Lack of funding and dwindling resources have forced the ABC to shut down many of its regional services and to outsource many of its formerly in-house productions. However, there do appear some ways in which the ABC might meet, as the rhetoric goes, "the challenge of the digital era". Traditionally, the role of the ABC has included the provision of comprehensive coverage of, and service for, the whole of Australia, including regions that would be economically unfeasible for commercial operations to penetrate. Recently, however, budgetary cuts have eroded this role substantially, with the axing of state based current affairs and the cessation of Radio Triple J's planned expansion into regional Australia. The Internet has provided a potential, if problematic, stop-gap solution, through the launch of the ABC's online news service. Internet based news solutions have few of the production-end overheads of the television service. There are no expensive studio set ups, no presenters, no cameras, just text that can be quickly keyed into the system and formatted for instantaneous, non-linear delivery. I should note at this point that currently, this "delivery" is in the passive sense of the word: users must search out the content and download it onto their machines. In Internet jargon, this is called "pull" technology. New technologies being developed promise to "push" the content automatically and directly to a user's computer. The ABC's implementation, taking advantage of all these benefits, is text-based, comprehensive, updated constantly, and easy to use. Currently, however, delivery of Internet-based content is tied to the existing phone network, and with most Internet service providers based in state capitals, regional Internet access is hindered by the cost of long-distance calls. The potential exists, nonetheless, for the ABC to achieve truly national coverage by methods that bypass existing structures. The planned shift by Australian TV networks to digital transmission has the potential to enable new possibilities for public broadcasting. A digital infrastructure could allow information and programming to be cheaply produced at the local level, then recompiled centrally and redistributed across the country. The convergence of computer and television will enable a greater variety of content to be sent to the home -- and, possibly, sent back out again in an altered form. Such a transformation of the way we experience television may well alter the concept of public broadcasting beyond recognition, if not render it obsolete. However, these possibilities, although reasonable given projected advances in technology, so far largely remain fantasy due to the debate over regulation between the Federal government and the commercial networks.
